Hello!
I have a struggle and I can't believe I'd be the only one in this situation.

We all know how good exercise is for our health, often it feels great afterwards as well.
I really love to exercise, I feel alive and powerful. But it's still a huge struggle for me to actually exercise.

I start to exercise, continue for a few weeks and then, stops. I don't know why. It's like I loose all will to do it. But I love it. Ugh.

Can anyone else recognize themself in this?
Maybe some advice?

Help, please.

We have to find movement and exercise that we actually enjoy and not just endure. We have to do everything on our own terms and not what's trendy or what someone else thinks we should do. I can't tell you the number of gym memberships I've let lapse because I couldn't stand going there. Some order out of that chaos had to be imposed. Now, I go to the pool and I swim, swim, swim. I hike while wearing backpacks. I flyfish and walk up and down the river banks, ride horses and walk with dogs. I've found things I enjoy and I'm not going back to the gym.

The program has got to match your personality for enduring success. Know your personality then find your program and your consistency will thrive.

Any chance that when you start exercise, you're overdoing the frequency, duration, or intensity? Under-fueling your exercise? Those things can cause fatigue and burnout.

Any chance that you're doing exercise that, after a while, bores you?

Any chance that you're letting exercise throw your life out of overall good balance (by not allowing enough time/energy for work, family, home chores, friends, non-exercise hobbies, etc.)?

Depending on what's going on, different strategies could be useful.

Great points and suggestions. I've joined a gym and found it exhausting doing my cardio and weight lifting after a hard day at work. I decided I would rather just lift weights only 2 days a week on the days I don't work. That way I can keep it fun and not feel worn out. There is no realistic way I could keep up what I pulled off that one day. I would burn out.

Yep. I tend to enjoy certain forms of exercise, but I have a lot of inertia. I would much rather curl up on the couch and read or play a game than exercise and once I stop to fo that, I'm unlikely to get moving again.

I find it's related to my level of burn out and exhaustion. If work and life has me down, then absolutely every action feels hard and slow like moving through molasses.

Take time to focus on mental health. Every so often I pamper myself with a Saturday where I stay in PJs all day, and when i have the spare cash I book myself in for an hour in a sensory deprivation tank.

The place I go to has a recovery nook, which is a softly lit space full of beanbag chairs where you can draw on the walls or read. One day when I win the lottery I'm putting something like that in my own house.
