Anyone try it before? I saw it from a YouTuber called Vicky regarding egg diet. Wondering it is safe to follow due to eggs are high in cholesterol.

Unless you have high cholesterol, that's not going to be an issue. But there will be some rather embarrassing digestive side effects.7

Do you truly believe eating eggs would have any effect on how much weight you lose? If not, why not just eat a well balanced diet of normal foods?4

I found the diet online, and it is surprisingly, not a diet that just involves eating eggs. Basically you eat 2 eggs and fruit for breakfast and then you have a lunch or dinner that isn't egg, like a piece of fruit of chicken or fish and salad. It does appear to be very low calorie though. I'd imagine it adds up to far less than 1200 a day.
You are supposed to do the diet for 2 weeks and lose 24 pounds, which is a ridiculous claim. To the extent that people have big losses, it will be from water weight from not eating a lot of food. That will come back when they get off this diet.
You asked if this diet was safe. The issue is not cholesterol from eggs, but rather that the diet is very low in calorie and does not give your body enough energy. This is not good for you long term and can have a lot of health effects. The truth is if you only do it for 2 weeks, you will probably feel pretty crummy and hungry those two weeks, but it's likely not long enough to cause long term damage.
But what is the point? Even if you lose some weight, you are not going to eat this diet for very long. Then how are you going to continue to lose weight and keep it off? It doesn't teach you any good habits for sustainable weight loss.
Rather than doing a diet like this you are better off following the MFP recommended calories and eating foods you enjoy.13 -
First question to ask yourself in choosing a diet plan is if it is sustainable. After you lose the weight you want, can you upkeep eating in the same way (with a few extra calories to maintain)? If the answer is no, then I say don’t aim for that diet. I’m a much bigger supporter of learning better balance of foods and how to portion correctly. If a diet is something your going to add sweets back into when you see results or completely change when you feel good about where you’re at, it’s very likely you’ll gain weight back. So don’t completely eliminate foods you love—learn better portioning and restraint. Continue to enjoy eating, just learning how to accurately treat it is better in my non professional opinion.
900 calories a day is not sustainable, effective, or a good idea. AT ALL. It’s not healthy and you’re not getting all the nutrients your body needs to survive.2 -
OMG I just Googled it and basically you'd be starving to death! 2 boiled eggs + 1 citrus fruit for breakfast, berries for lunch and protein + salad for dinner? Faaarkkkk!
It's just an extremely low calorie diet that will make you lose water weight and as soon as you eat anything again bam, you'll get fat again.
Not to mention setting you up for bingeing and failure.
Count the calories on MFP... that works.

Apsolutly no, don't ever go that way.. I tried all fed diets that exist including Vicy egg diet and they never work on long run.. Why egg diet s bad? Couple of things.. First u enter too few calories and it will effect ur everyday life, ur digestive system will suffer, ur energy will be low and u will seriously start to hate boiled eggs (I still hate sight of them although I did it for 8 days only).. U won't lose as much as she says 10kg in 10 days but more likely 0.5 kg per day if u incorporate 30 min cardio workout, otherwise u will suffer and u won't be seeing much difference on scale.. If u want to loose waight on healthy long run, stick to calorie that mfp recommends, try to do any small changes that could help u move or stay active longer-everything counts in this, even standing straight instead of sitting.. That s what actually helped me to go from 86 kg to 58kg in 2 years-long way to go but still small changes for today, counts towards reaching big goal tomorrow3
