The only way to do it is to do it. The only time to do it is when you will do it. What happens if you don't do it? You waste a lot of your life like I have being unable to do the things you wanted to do because you were too heavy to do them. I'm 62. I'm finally doing it now. Do you want to wait that long? ... I thought not.0

Whenever you are feeling to given up just visit MFP, read success stories along with different threads to get motivated, talk with your nears & dears, go through your diet history to understand what gone wrong.
Remember your body didn't accumulated those fats in overnight therefore don't expect to loose those so quickly, its may take time depend upon your intake, body etc. Different person has different bodies. You can talk with your nutritionist, doctor too in parallel. But keep patience, monitor your diet closely, try to be regular on MFP, never think to give up ! You can do it

This is a lifetime commitment for me. I may not eat well and I may not exercise as hard as I should, but I always, always, always log my food. I was the weirdo at Thanksgiving dinner last year with my food scale. At least people weren't arguing about politics if they were fascinated with my logging. :laugh:0

Don't give up. Ur gonna make it!0

I feel like that all the time. But, I have to realize that if I do give up, I'm just gonna keep getting bigger and bigger. Then I'm gonna be more miserable. So, why not continue now. So you've lost 3 pounds. Isn't that better than gaining 3 pounds? For me personally, I gain and lose the same 5 pounds every other week. And I am struggling to get my head on straight so I can be successful at losing the weight. But trust me. A three pound loss is better than nothing.0

I gave up a long time ago. I've learned over the 3 + years that the number on the scale doesn't matter compared to how I look and feel. So yes, I gave up on the scale long ago.0

I find that taking progress photos and measurements helps me. It's inspiring to see the loss concretely, rather than to wish for a change in scale numbers.0

To everyone who told me not to give up....THANK YOU!!! It's nice to know there's people out there I don't even know who care!!!!:flowerforyou:0

no, the fat pisses me off. I have lost about 100lbs maybe more like 110, Alot of ot before jpining MFP. However same premise as I was recording food in a notebook. Anyway I have fought this, and I am not going to ley the blubber win.0

I feel like giving up at least 17 times a day, but I won't/don't/can't.0

No. I have days where I don't feel like doing anything. But I do it anyway because I love it. I've changed my lifestyle from being someone that didn't like exercising, to absolutely loving it. I feel empty if I don't hit the gym. I hate rest days.0

Also If we "stop" and go bad to the bad habits that got us here, we will be right back where we started anyway. I know this has been said ad nauseum, however, this has to be a lifestyle change, not something we quit. I do look forward to losing what I have left to lose, so I can be in a nice maintenance mode, eating foods I like in moderate amounts. This should not be viewed as a quick fix. IMHO0

No. That would be admitting defeat. And according to my husband, I am FAR too stubborn to do that.0

I know that it is hard but you can stay strong
I want to give up almost everyday. I just try to remember not to be too hard on myself...nobody is perfect and everyone wants to change something about themselves.
Stick with your friends and family that are supportive and you will do great! Find a workout buddy that needs a little extra boost I lost a bunch of weight that way.
Keep going and don't be so hard on yourself, if you slip up you have to forgive yourself and keep on moving towards your goals!
Stay Strong!0 -
Yes, I often times do feel like giving up. I even hear that voice in my head that says, "Oh, it's not THAT bad being fat. Maybe I can just stay fat." But then the more reasonable voice tells me that it's not an option to give up. I'm in such a better place now than I was last year. I'm more energetic, more aware of how I feel, and more confident. So even though I have been slipping up a lot lately, I won't give up. Keep going. We will get there eventually.0

In the beginning I often felt like giving up, nothing worked. It took time to find what worked for me. Don't give up, you will never find what works for you. There is your magic combination and you will find it as long as you keep working hard.
You can do this!0 -
Yay! It's Valcor the Luck Dragon!0 -
I have given up... and I regreted it. Now here I am a year later, starting over. You will never be ok with your size until you lose the weight you want to lose. Which means that you will never feel good about yourself, never wear the clothes you want to wear... exc. Get more physical exercise. Set you calories to like 1500 and walk/work out everyday. It has to come off. You just have to stick to it.0

no, the fat pisses me off.
I love this!!!!
Never, ever give up! You are so worth the effort.0
