If you are new to posting on this thread, or if you are new to cycling, We welcome you! If you are returning from a previous thread, We welcome you, too.

This thread is for anyone who rides a bicycle ... or unicycle, tricycle, tandem, etc.

Do you bike to work? Do you pull your children to the park? So you ride weekends? Do you spin at home or in the gym? Is Zwift your thing? Do you race crits, ironman, or centuries? Or, are you just starting out and remembering how much fun you had biking when you were a kid? However you choose to push your pedal, you are welcome on this thread.

There's no set challenge across participants - this is a mixed-ability / mixed-experience / everyone welcome group. Just pick your own target that you want to achieve this month, post that when you join the thread, and post updates throughout the month as you're working towards your target.

    Did the Prudential RideLondon 100 today.

    Great event and my first closed roads event - what a difference no cars makes! Although it feels weird to bomb through red lights, use both sides of the road and go around roundabouts the wrong way.

    Some of the riding was a bit worrying and saw some nasty crashes but a really friendly atmosphere made it a lot of fun.

    Set a new PR for 100 miles which I'm delighted with after my recent spate of injuries.
    Biggest win is that I've raised over £1,500 for a children's cancer charity through the amazing generosity of many people.

    Very nice going Sijomial. All that money going to a good cause. Fantastic. You sure mended very quickly. I'm in the US, but In May I had 10 days in Scotland. I rented a car for a week's tour of the Highlands. Driving in the opposite side of the road, was really very easy. Just follow the 2 or 3 cars ahead of you and do what they do. I can only imagine how much fun it would be like to bike my way through London with no other vehicles on the road. Nice going.

    I'm staying with my "program" while the good weather is here. I'm spoiled living in the West coast USA. I can ride pretty much year round, but I start my rides at 6:30 to 7 AM, and it gets a little bit nippy in December and January, but for now, my plan is to ride 5 days per week and go to the gym the other two days.

    Not sure I'm mended as I'm feeling pretty broken today!

    Injured hand and knee are not happy with me but that's OK, they will heal over time and I can ease up for a while to give them an opportunity to heal.

    Did a 120Km ride today, the longest in a couple of months, cold and windy but not long to go before it warms up.
    14h21', 335Km and 5006m of elevation for August so far.

    Sorry guys. No time to post.... but plenty of time to ride.

    Last week: Third week in a row with 5 rides and over 100 miles.

    Monday 2019.08.05 ~~ 22 mile "fitness" ride. Put in in gear and go hard.
    Tuesday 2019.08.06 ~~ 21 mile "fitness" ride.
    Wednesday 219.08.07 ~~ At the gym fighting gravity for an hour.
    Thursday 2019.08.08 ~~ 22 mile "fitness" ride.
    Friday 2019.08.09 ~~ At the gym fighting gravity for an hour.
    Saturday 2019.08.10 ~~ 38 mile workout.
    Sunday 2019.08.11 ~~ 21 mile "fitness" ride.
