My diet consists of homemade chicken salads pretty much! This steroid (medical prescribed) not the gym steroids .. lol makes it so hard to lose weight. Already lost 8 pds or so with this diet. But always crave snacks at night. Any healthy snack ideas other then veggies.....?

You don't need to worry about carbs unless your doctor told you to restrict them in order to treat a medical condition.5 -
I pop my popcorn in a brown paper bag in the microwave. Add a little, very little, butter or Parmesan cheese. Grated. I avoid popcorn like Reddenbachers. It has very harmful chemicals in those bags.19

No it doesn't or it wouldn't pass stringent tests and be approved for human consumption.20 -

Wrong, if it did, the company would be out of business. Quit spreading false info like this!

What is a healthy snack? What isn’t? I usually save cals for some halo top or breyers ice cream right before bed.6

Furthermore, unless you have some weird brand of peanut butter with a ton of added sugar, it's not high carb. Straight peanut butter is more of a fat source. Mine has no added sugar, 7 g protein and 7 g carbs to 17 g fat for 200 calories (2 T / 32 g).6 -
I save 200-300 calories for ice cream or chocolate every night.4

Here in the UK, the supermarkets sell small (20g) bags of lentil crisps. They're similar carbs / fat / cal count per 100g to normal packets of crisps but as the bags are smaller you still get the feeling you've had a snack without having quite as big a portion to eat. I have a bag most weekdays with my lunch. A hard-boiled egg, a handful of nuts or a mini Babybel cheese are my other go-to snacks if I have spare calories.1

I'm eating more kale chips for calcium and drinking almond milk. I also like black bean hummus and raw unsalted pumpkin seeds for lower calorie options.2

Trader Joe's has chocolate hummus - 50 calories for 2TB. I dip apples in it. So good.

So many great suggestions already. Can't think of anything else to add. My snack game is pretty bad because I've been doing intermittent fasting for a few years now, so I usually eat once or twice a day. I don't get hungry between meals (or ever) since I'm on the keto diet1

I love me some crunchy cornichons.2

Don't diet. Fruit, veg, and nuts, and grains9

At least three of those four options can have quite a substantial number of calories if one isn't careful about portion sizes. Some vegetables aren't exactly low cal either.3 -
what do you LIKE to snack on? Portion that out and make it fit in your calorie goals for the day.
i like chocolate and ice cream and peanut butter, myself. My bed and I and my snacks have a standing date with netflix every night.5 -

Almonds, trail mix, pretzels, cheese, Greek yogurt, popcorn, tuna pouch, hummus w/veg, protein bar, boiled egg, apple w/peanut butter, saltine crackers w/peanut butter or cheese, banana w/peanut butter, dark chocolate and almonds, protein shake, English muffin drizzled with honey, fruit salad, fruit with a dollop of whipped topping, whole grain toasted drizzled with honey, banana and peanut butter on wrap, almond milk fruit smoothie, tomato onion cucumber salad w/vinaigrette, small baked potato w/cheddar, couscous patties. I don't like this last one...but ugh, cottage cheese.0

Why not smart popcorn? Just because you love something doesn't mean it's not healthy.0 -

?? More fat than carbs, and roughly as much protein as carbs unless you're eating some sugar-added peanut butter. In peanut butter made from just peanuts and salt (or peanuts only, if that's what you want), about a third of the carbs are fiber.0 -
Apples with honey is one of my favs, Also greek yogurt0
