JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~ ROUND 89

Hi, I did this for 3-4 rounds, lost a bunch of weight, then fell off the wagon, and am trying to get back on.
It's really encouraging to see that others have done that, gotten back on, and achieved goals. Thank you for sharing! So here it is.

JUST GIVE ME 10 DAYS ~|~ Round 89 (round 21 for me ) I'm in for another round, tomorrow will be the only day I weigh in though as I fly off for 10 days holiday tomorrow afternoon, I'm back 21st just in time for the next challenge!! Although not weighing, I'll still try to check in each day and read all the posts.
Female age 61 5' 4”
Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !
Round goal –not gain too much whilst on holiday; be mindful of what I eat & drink and keep walking.

09/10 133.2 – 7 miles walked yesterday; rain curtailed for most of the day . Later we fly out to Crete so I don't think I will be able to weigh whilst away, but I'll check in everyday if I can.
09/11 DNW - 5 miles walked yesterday mostly round the airport! macros very slightly over, difficult to control when not self preparing meals ! Oh and scales in my room, but don't work, need new batteries, I've put request in to maintenance!!
09/12 DNW - no scale batteries yet. Walked 8.39 miles yesterday, some along the beach, estimated 150 calories over goal.
09/13 134.0 - 11.77 miles walked yesterday - what's truly bizarre is the fact that the vain person that I am whilst on holiday I'm wearing my Fitbit on my belt loop so I don't get a white mark on wrist, it's recording the walks as outdoor biking, but still counting the steps?????? Sodium over, but all other macros in green.
09/14 135.4 - maybe it's not such a good idea having scales on my holiday!! And I thought I was making really good food choices and logging them . 9.4 miles walked yesterday, estimate of calories 195 over.
09/15 136 - 13 miles walked yesterday. Had moussaka for lunch at Chania old venitiian harbour after walking there. Going to aim for a simple Greek salad today without olive oil; need to stop this incline !!
09/16 136.4 - 10 miles walked yesterday, 180 calories over. Our wedding anniversary today.
09/17 136.6 - 14.5 miles walked yesterday, wonderful day spent with my DH, lunch & dinner out both accompanied with glass of bubbly. Thanks for all the good wishes & congrats.
09/18 136.4 - 10.3 miles walked
09/19 138.2 - 8.66 miles walked yesterday. Our last full day on holiday today before we fly back home tomorrow.

Ready for my round 26
OSW 88KG
RSW 62.6kg (-25.4 kg) or {- 56 lbs}
Goal... Less than I started
09/10 62.4kg and a tough gym session already this morning.
09/11 62.7kg no real reason so I'm sure it will come down soon
09/12 62.8kg...being patient
09/13 62.6kg and the pain from Tues gym session is leaving! Ran this morning now ready for the wknd!
09/14 62.4kg with only 3 hours sleep. Let's see what tomorrow does
09/15 62.4kg...ready to see a drop!
09/16 63.25kg and an interval /sprint training done this morning.
09/17 63.8kg I think I must have underestimated the weekend calories as I haven't cheated at all.
09/18 62.5kg...that's a lot better but I think I'll be paying more attention to my calories next round.
09/19 62.0kg. Scale couldn't decide between 61.9 and 62.1 so I went for the middle. Really pleased to see this! Now to keep it off for 10 more days.
Total loss this round 0.6kg {1.3lbs}9 -
So last round I was all over the place with lots of ups and downs, to end up with no weight loss at the end of 10 days. This time I’m going to be more stable and especially try and do better on weekends.

Day / Weight/Comment
10/09 158.8 (0.0) 13.051 steps. Status quo yet again. Seems I’m stuck at this weight but it will eventually go down I’m sure. These are the times I find the hardest and when this group helps the most as I see from you all that I’m not the only one with really sloooowwww weight loss
11/09 158.0 (-0.8) 15.545 steps, yes a little loss there! I had a very good run yesterday as I went with a friend so it went much quicker! Calories I went over by 200 but – all healthy choices - still had a deficit of 667 cal. Today I might do an exercise dvd to keep up the exercise routine, especially as it’s raining quite hard.
12/09 158 (0.0) 9.755 steps … it’s was 10pm and I was in bed when I realized I was 250 steps short of my goal but honestly I couldn’t care less I was shattered! Food wise, it was a good day. I’m more tired lately as I’m getting up early to meditate before starting my day. Tonight, is W5R2 in my C25K training so I’m drinking my water and getting most of my calorie intake at least 2hrs before my run
13/09 157.0 (-1.0) 13.293 Steps, W5R2 done, yes!!! Very good day yesterday, walked quite a bit, eat healthy and finished off by a good run! I’m not sure how long I can keep this up … probably till tomorrow as it’s the start of the weekend… lol Today I’ve planned a walk and an exercise dvd. I also need to drink a bit more water.
14/09 157.7 (+0.7) 6.842 Steps,
15/09 157.0 (-0.7) 11.667 steps, W5R3 Done. Good run but got totally lost in the forest and had to use google maps to find my way back, I’m looking into different ways to avoid that in the future.
16/09 157.0 (0.0) 1.819, quiet recovery day yesterday. I ate reasonably, although I went a little over but healthy choice. I’ve got quite a busy week ahead; I hope this doesn’t throw things off! I’m really pleased that this time I haven’t put weight on over the weekend and I’m already lower than my goal. I’m still looking into apps so that I don’t get lost trail running in the forest like on Saturday. I was really good fun but I, as a typical city girl, I was totally freaked out when I realized I was nearly 40 mins away from my car in the middle of nowhere (that was a long run lol)
17/09 157.8 (+0.8) 18.000 steps, small run. No idea why that went up, I was really active yesterday, I think maybe I didn’t drink enough.
18/09 157.8 (-0.0) 12.997 steps, W6R1 done. I thought I’d see a drop today, but no, oh well, it’s still better than I hoped so far. So yesterday I went to the gym to do my run during lunch time. With my daughter back at school it’s hard to find some free time to run in the evening. I don’t get as much enjoyment during lunch time as it’s a race to get back to the office while trying not to look like you’re sweating buckets even with a quick shower at the gym. Today is a rest day, I didn’t sleep much as I woke up before 5am with aches and pains and by the time the painkiller kicked in it was time to get up.
19/09 159.6 (+1.8), 6938 steps, so yesterday was not a good day, and I’m disappointed but well I thought I’d still come here and vent a little. There was a sandwich lunch at the office and a restaurant in the evening where although I made the right choices it’s still not the same as eating home cooked food, I feel bloated and generally unwell. Add to that stress and lack of sleep well there goes. And it’s even more frustrating as I was doing so well this round. So today I’ll plan my meals for the next few days and try and get some sleep over the weekend.

This will be my first round! My goal is to lose 1 kg by the end of it
09/10 80.9 kg My biggest challenge today will be to avoid snacking when playing games with my friends tonight.
09/11 81.1 kg (+0.2kg) I didn’t not avoid snacking yesterday with my friends! -.-
09/12 81 kg (+0.1kg) Did a lot of exercise yesterday and ate around 1600 calories.
09/13 81 kg (+0.1kg) I am been doing blogilates 100ab and glute challenge these last days. My body is sore! Think I am going to try to eat more low carb-meals from now. In my experience it is usually easier for me to stay to my calorie goal if I don’t eat to many carbs.
09/14 ??kg I did not have access to a scale yesterday.
09/15 81.6kg (+0.8kg) I walked over 10 km on both friday and saturday. So I am happy with that. I was eating out a lot and it is impossible to count calories then. Did chose the healthy options, but I am still bloated today from the wine I drank yesterday.
09/16 80.8kg (-0.1kg) Low carb meals is already making a big difference. I do not feel hungry at all staying with my calorie goal of 1600 calories a day. And it looks like it is helping with my bloat as well
09/17 80.8kg (-0.1kg) There is a lot of stress right now. Quite happy with myself for not turning to food and snacks to deal with it though
09/18 80.1kg (-0.8kg) Did a lot of exercise yesterday. Using jump rope to work on my cardio… it feels very effective
09/19 80.0 (-0.9kg) So close! I definitely see this as a win though! See you at round 90

This is my 2nd round. Finished the last round poorly purely due to TOM, cake and wine.
Determined this time. Id love to get as close as possible to 140 this round.
10th Sept: 142.75. Happy with this drop from yesterdays high. Ate within calories, almost hit macros, and walked the dog when son was training so hit 13k steps.
11th Sept: 140.25. THRILLED with this drop, considering the weekend I've had last weekend. Hit 16k steps last night and did a piloxing class. I cannot wait to see the 130's on the scales. I know it'll fluctuate up and down but I cant help even imagining seeing 13x on the scales this round. Rest day today. Son has match again tonight, I'll still him my10k steps.
12th Sept: 139.75. Absolutely buzzing off my head. Haven't been here in 6 years. No exercise yesterday as son had match. Got 9k steps. Ate within calories. Planning on a run in the woods with the dogs tonight. Have chicken and spuds in the slow cooker for dinner tonight.
13th Sept: 140.75. No reason for the increase, just one of those things. Stayed within calories. Didn't go running. Was absolutely shattered, went to bed at 8:15pm and slept till 6:20am. Feel great this morning. Have piloxing tonight. Note to self: Don't do chicken in a slow cooker - fell to absolute pieces and I couldn't decipher meat from bones from skin!!
14th Sept: 139.25 yes!!
15th Sept: 140.5.
16th Sept: 143.5 Was expecting this. Was at a BBQ yesterday and had burgers, beer and cake! Was VERY uncomfortable for the night, I felt so full. Only got 5k steps in too. Back on the wagon today. Have walk planned with the dogs tonight. Drinking all the water today...hoping to get back down to normalish weight by Wednesday.
17th Sept: 142.5. Pulling it back slowly from the carnage that was the weekend. Good day yesterday. Ran the woods with the dogs in the rain. Very refreshing. On track for a good day today too. Have piloxing class tonight.
18th Sept: 142.5. Was expecting a bit of a drop so I'm disappointed with this. Although I had a late piloxing class followed by a late omelette, and was up at 4am for work and weighed myself. Usually weigh around 6:30am. Would all these things make a difference? Today will be another on track day, rest day but will still hit my 10k steps. Bed early tonight for sure!
19th Sept: 140.25. Happy with this drop. Was having bowel troubles - hadn't gone in 5 days. All ok this morning.
-2.5lbs in this round. Very happy with this. Aim to get more daily weights in the 130's in round 90.

I have sit out the last round after doing several. I have a new focus and new goals. I look forward to getting back on track and making some good progress.
1-1-19 : 276
Goal this round -2 lbs; goal wt for 1-1-20= 255
Day/Weight/Comment
09/10 - 270.5 considering i had a pretty loose eating labor day weekend, I'm not to discouraged but more determined to drop a couple of pounds.
09/11 - 270.4 Staying pretty consistent, need to get some workout time in and move the needle down a bit.
09/12 - 269.8
09/13 - 268.0 probably dropped some water weight plus had not eaten in several hours when I weighed in. My goal is to keep the focus over the weekend which will be difficult because we are out of town and not cooking our own food. But it comes down to making good choices, its my call.
09/14 - no weigh in traveling
09/15 - no weigh in traveling
09/16 - 268.7 after a busy weekend away from home, eating out, etc, I will take this weigh in and be happy.
09/17 - 267.9 moving in the right direction, I LIKE IT! YESSSSSS! It's hard but i gotta do this thing. Onward!
09/18 - 268.0 looking forward to finishing up strong.

Time for a post holiday / kids back to school re-set.
My aim is to be back to my pre holiday weight of 133 less a pound or two by the end of September (end of round 90).
Target for this round is to get back to normal eating, logging everything, planning and prepping properly and getting my water intake back up - like many people, it all slipped a bit post holiday and with the kids being off. Target for this round is to see 136lb. This is my round to get re-focused
Start Weight 140.3lb
09/10 - 138.1lb (-2.2lb) Yay - that's some of the weekend roast gone - same every week and "excess" usually gone by mid week so hopefully I'll see another drop tomorrow morning. Good day planned today and like feeling a bit more back in control
09/11 - 137.3lb (-0.8lb) That'll do thank you! So pretty much back to where I was after my holidays so 3.5lb up overall as got to 133.8lb before my holiday. So onwards and downwards towards that number again - aiming to get back to 133lb by around the end of September (end of R90 / R91)
09/12 - 137.6lb (+0.3lb) Fine with this small upward blip as at least it means this weight is probably a true weight and my weight loss often goes down for a few days then a blip upwards. Food was all good yesterday although I did spend an hour just sitting in front of the TV yesterday when I got in from work doing absolutely nothing except drinking coffee which I never normally do as felt really tired But first full week of the girls in their new schools and college plus hubby been away all week too so need to give myself a bit of a break!
Food planned along with a gym session tonight so should be a good day ahead
09/13 - 136.8lb (-0.8lb)
09/14 - DNW
09/15 - DNW
09/16 - DNW - Totally crazy weekend. Grandkids over after school Friday to stay over so had a movie and popcorn night with them plus our two. They went home lunchtime Saturday then headed straight out to the girls cheerleading team Picnic for the afternoon (tried to make the best of the terribly unhealthy - so very tempting and rather nice - food that was available). Yesterday during the day was fine with our usual full on roast last night then me and hubby went out for the evening and had a drink and shared a bag of sweets at the show so bed later than normal for a Sunday and so laid in for an extra 10 minutes this morning and didn't remember to weigh in until I'd already had my morning cup of tea But good food day planned and back to proper tracking today and still aiming to finish in the 136's for the round. Have a great week everyone
09/17 - 139.6lb (+2.8lb) as a result of my not so great weekend food-wise, topped with TOM imminent plus I have been eating more carbs the last few days as doing a (walking) marathon on Saturday night so trying to eat a few more carbs than usual this week ready for a pastabake dinner Saturday before the walk! So am feeling a bit bloated although not sure how much of it is down to the weekend / TOM or the carbs? Either way, I'm back to tracking properly for the rest of the week
09/18 - 138.8lb (-0.8lb) That will do to start. Still want to get back to my pre holiday weight by the end of September so 5lb to go ...... Usual gym sessions twice a week booked in, plenty of exercise on Saturday doing my marathon - just need to keep properly focused on my food and keep logging!
09/19 - 138.4lb (-0.4lb) Meh - OK but had hoped for more of a loss - blaming imminent TOM as no other reason why..... A non round for me really - but am going to make Round 90 MY round - see you there!8 -

Goal: Improve Sleep - duration of 7hrs and score above 80.
9/10 193.5 lbs 6h51m/83/10:45pm - great workout, but work didn't go well. Late to eat dinner, but good sleep. Kind of a mixed bag....
9/11 194.6 lbs 6h32m/77/10:36pm - super sore in my quads & hammies, this may be water retention in the muscles. I didn't use my foam roller, which I should have. Bad night sleeping because of another bad day at work. Combat tonight... should help.
9/12 194.4 lbs 6h50m/83/10:22pm - bad day, good sleep. Training this am BEFORE work. Generally feeling frustrated but hoping to turn it around today.
9/13 193.5 lbs 6h27m/83/10:42pm. MUCH better... good day at work, great workout, good sleep. Was so sore, so I stretched everything, right there in the office... lol. Helped a ton, feel pretty good right now!
9/14 192.4 lbs!!!! 6h15m/71/12:00am - Is it possible I can make goal this round? 💪😎
9/15 192.1 lbs 8h22m/92/9:13pm - 3+ hours spent talking with strangers, to me, is more exhausting than a heavy workout. I don't think I've ever gotten a sleep score in the 90s, since I started tracking.
9/16 192.4 lbs 6h53m/81/9:32pm - so tired, but woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep for way too long. Had a great day with excellent energy... hoping there is still some in the tank for my workout this morning.
9/17 192.5 lbs 😪 6h45m/76/10:02pm - water? My eating has been on track and have had good workouts. Super tired (now that I've had a few good nights in the 80's, I really feel the lack of sleep quality in a 76 night). Won't make goal like this, that's for sure.
9/18 191.1 lbs 4h18m/62/10:40pm - awful night. Water whoosh? No pluots? 🤷♀️Combat tonight... won't perform like Sunday, but am still looking forward to it!
9/19 191.0 lbs 5h7m/68/12:00am - so close. I'm convinced I would have made or passed my goal if I'd gotten better sleep these last two nights. Still, a 3.9 lbs drop is worth celebrating! I think I'll go to the gym and kick some *kitten* this morning!
See you next round!

09/10-206.4 WHOOSH! I have been waiting. I am almost afraid to believe it. Hopefully it sticks. I have been very consistent but my body has been holding on. Hopefully this is the start of some consistent downward movement on the scale.
09/11 210… huh?
09/12 208.4… a little better! I am working very hard right now. My store is busy, I am doing a lot of lifting. My body is very sore, but I will just keep doing what I should & hope for some good results
09/13 DNW
09/14 209.4. The scale is jumping around. I accept it. I think I am on the verge of “the change” (sounds like a horror film & I am equally horrified). TOM has arrived 7 days after finishing. I had hoped to have lost my weight before all this hormone transition bologna really began…
09/15 DNW
09/16 207.8. Still plagued with woman issues & fatigue. I need to find a supplement that will fix this!
09/17 207.2. Still moving in the right direction. I am on point with diet & exercise. Probably not going to meet my goal for this round, but who know what or when this body will decide
09/18 206.6 still on point with food & exercise. I might even be able to post a loss for this round
09/19 205.4. I hit my goal! Woohoo! It is more fun to post when the scale is cooperating

I have never done this challenge before but I need accountability so here goes! I hope I do this right. I am ordering a new scale so my measurements may fluctuate but my goal is to stay consistent with diet and exercise.

09/10 -200lbs- I am ordering my new scale today so I can monitor my weight better. Got my walk in early this morning because it is going to be 95 degrees here today and it doesn't cool down until after dark. I am not generally a morning person but I have to admit that the slight crispness in the early morning air is very nice!
09/11 -199lbs- Walk was a bit slower today. I am counting this as a rest day. Calorie intake and logging was good yesterday. I am thinking about joining a gym because winter will be here eventually and while I love my walks I hate being cold!
09/12 -199lbs- My new scales should be here today! I felt really shaky yesterday. Don't know why. I did make sure I ate back some of my exercise calories and nutrition looked pretty good...I do feel better today and had a great walk this morning. I am worth this effort and so are YOU!
09/13 -197.1lbs- Thank you, new digital scales for that drop! HaHa! I still want to lose another pound during this challenge. I feel good today except I have about a hundred things that need to be done and I need to stay on top of healthy meal planning!
09/14 -195.3lbs- I hope this is not my new scales malfunctioning! Then again, I spent the month of August with the scale not moving AT ALL so I will take this. I plan on just leisurely walking this weekend and eating small portions if we go out...just relaxing a bit for the weekend.
09/15 -195lbs- Went over a bit on calories because of no exercise. Planning on resting again today.
09/16 -194.8lbs- Back at it today! Got my walk in and ready to do some meal planning for this week.
09/17 -194.5lbs- Walked slower today to rest my knee.
09/18 -194.4lbs- Good walk this morning. Good on food yesterday and today is leftovers.
09/19 -194.8lbs- Up a tiny bit but a satisfying loss overall! Ate the same, exercised the same but had a very stressful day and did not sleep well at all.
I met my goal with a total loss for this round of 5.2lbs!9 -

09/10 194.6 (-0.2) not s great food day. Didn't measure or weigh my food and ended up eating crackers and cheese and meat sticks for dinner. Felt really off in general and unmotivated. Didn't do my workout. Trying to get back into routine tomorrow.
09/11 191.6 (-3.0) ok wow! That's quite a woosh! Got back to my workout program yesterday and food was a little on the low side. I've been drinking a tonne of water (like 150 oz.?) But I feel dehydrated this am. Strange. I was feeling kind of bloaty and puffy this am so didn't expect the drop but I'm glad because I was starting to get nervous that this wasn't going to work for me. (I know CICO is science and thus works for everyone, but the time it takes to see the trend and the bouncing weight levels makes me think it's not working and then I get sloppy and then it really doesn't work. Lol)
09/12 193 (+1.4). Ugh always with the up and down! 18K steps and workout yesterday. Was super hungry so ate most of my exercise calories back.
09/13 192.4 (-0.6) wine and chips and dessert after dinner last night. Still a small deficit but not much of one. Back to healthier choices today.
09/14 193.8 (1.4) ok I keep saying I'm going to clean up my food but then I just.... don't? And then complain when I don't lose? Lol. Last night wad wings, poutine, wine, chips. I DID do my workout though so there's that.
09/15 194 (+0.2)
09/16 196 (+2) went to dr prescribed metabolic clinic today (aka fat camp for grownups). Found out my bf% is 42% !! Clinic is not private but government run by doctors with specialized degrees in nutrition and obesity science. Focus seems to be on hormones that are responsible for fat storage (insulin and cortisol ) and using plans that regulate those levels and encourage fat loss. Interestingly, when I asked about CICO, the response was that it's a bit of an outdated approach and neglects the factors that complicate weight loss. (My wording) I pointed out that eating to their plan would by nature put a person with a calorie limit so it would still fit CiCO but essentially it's the same thing I always think which is that while weight loss is the simple CICO formula, nutrition and body biochemistry (?) is not so simple and what we eat and the macros therein affect us in many ways. And thus adjusting those levels can contribute to function and health (and weight loss) in many ways. Soap box rant over. I'm going to follow their plan since it's fairly close to my current approach anyhow and it gives me free access to fancy measurement metrics every two weeks and I'm a data nerd.
09/17 194.6 (-1.4) hoping I can drop some of this water weight over the next few days. Got back into my workout routine so feel good about that.
09/18 194.4 (-0.2) I did great all day and had about 1000 calories left so figured I would go out for a drink with friends. Ended up with three glasses of wine and 10 wings so blew my calories.
09/19 191.8 (-2.6). Ok made my goal for this round! I think this last drop is water weight from going lower carb this week. Glad to see a drop though

Day/Weight/Comment
09/10 - 141
09/11 – 140.5 – I had a fasting medical test on my gallbladder yesterday morning. Part of the test is injecting me with a chemical that mimics eating a meal. The tech asked me my weight and before I could tell him, he looked me straight in the eyes and said “It’s very important you give me the correct weight since this dose has to be calibrated with a meal.” I almost laughed out loud. I wanted to say that I’ve been telling dozens of people what I really weigh every day for the past year and a half, but I simply told him I weighed 141 that morning. This exchange once again reminded me of how important this group has been to me in being able to stay accountable and lose and maintain my weight loss over the past 18 months.
09/12 – 141 – Fine with this.
09/13 – 139.5 – Considering I was up 4 or 5 times in the middle of the night going to the bathroom, I’m chalking up this loss to water weight. It’s a nice place to start for the weekend.
09/14 - 142
09/15 – Forgot to weigh.
09/16 – 141.5 – I probably ate a little over maintenance this weekend, but back on track today.
09/17 – 141 – I’m glad the weekend bounce appears to be over.
09/18 – 142 – And the weekend bounce is back! Not really, I think I just need to get more water in today and watch my snacks.
09/19 – 141.5 – I ended where I started, which is perfect for me. See you next round!

09/19 - 156.7 - I'm going to say a lot of that is dehydration. I barely got water in yesterday. I was in so much pain after injections. (usually pressure of injections is the worst followed by pressure and tenderness at injection site for a few hours. I did not have that this time and instead I had the aches like crazy after the injected lidocaine wore off). Struggled to walk as my legs would randomly lock up or just not respond the way I needed them to. (yes, that can be normal, just not quite for me. I am still achy but can walk with a slight limp today and much more of a normal pace than my old-lady body pace I had yesterday. I was about to grab my cane it was so bad and I don't feel I need it today!) Glad I took a sick day and worked as much as I could from home. Leaving at 4am tomorrow to drive to Texas for the weekend with the BF. Won't be back until Monday night so will be absent to start off the new round. Hopefully this achiness goes away before that 11 hour drive (that was the plan with having it done Wednesday so I'd be past the initial pain and feeling the most benefits. Saturday is trip to Austin and Sunday we have standing room only tickets to the NFL game! My first (: so I need the pain relief a ton)
Previous Day's Comments09/10 - Way backwards movement. But I did cave to anxiety eating a Sonic Blast last night which never bodes well for the tummy (lactose sensitive). I'm still feeling the bloat today. Plus I have a bit of DOMS from my first workout in awhile yesterday. Need to get right today. Coworker and I both want to lose 20lbs and we are almost identical in BF%, weight, and clothing size. Hopefully the anxiety I'm already feeling goes away quickly today.
09/11
09/12- Well, apparently my check in yesterday didn't post? I couldn't find it. Yesterday was a really hard day emotionally. It was my first 9/11 not serving in uniform and oh boy did it make me miss the army so much. I ended up having several breakdowns throughout the day. Kept myself out of the office with meetings or volunteering to help out the rescue team and do some fire brigade demo'ing instead. I tried to do 110 flights for the firefighters who lost their lives that day. Only made it 30 flights with everything else going on. And I also gave blood and didn't want to overdo it. I'm SO sore today in my quads (lets me know my quad/glute is unbalanced and I'm not engaging my glutes enough) so I need to do 2 more iterations (to the top of the plant is about 20 flights) today and 2 tomorrow to complete my 110 flights. I'm not in the shape I was before and my spinal fusion will not allow me to do too much at once anyway. I'm still determined to complete it.
Food wasn't great yesterday. Ended up getting pizza for dinner with my neighbors. But I have my throw-together leftovers (kielbasa, mixed veggies, and thin-sliced potato) today for lunch and I believe I'm going to lunch with a vendor today. Must make good choices! Think I'll have half my small thing of throw-together before lunch to break my fast and maybe the other half as a small snack after lunch if I behave and portion properly and get hungry. Hoping, since its mostly vegetables, it will help fill me up before lunch enough I can't possibly overeat. I know this drop is water weight and from giving blood so I want to try to maintain it as I recover and get down to my lower weight from previous rounds. More water today, too, as I've slacked on that HARD.
09/13 - Went to BF's daughter's cross country meet last night and ended up staying at BF's house so no scale. Food wasn't very good yesterday but I was more mindful about it than I have been lately which is a huge step back in the right direction for me. Ended up sprinting in jeans and steel-toe boots to make it to the start line in time for her race to begin so even got a little workout. My quads are still on fiiiiiire and I haven't even gotten to finish my 110 flights. I don't know if my body can handle that, honestly. I'll keep trying, though.
09/14
09/15
09/16 - Weekend at BF's. Have steroid injections in my back Wednesday morning (so bedrest the remainder of the day) and then leaving for Texas early Friday morning until Monday night!
09/17 - Not sure how accurate because my scale wouldn't settle on one number. Also forgot to weigh so I was in socks and a shirt when normally I weigh in just underwear. Today is starting off with a bad mentality I'm hoping to kick. I brought in food (not ideal but better than vending machine food) for a snack and lunch. Last chance to work out this week since injections tomorrow (minimum 48 hours rest, first 24 "bed rest") and travel Friday. Hoping the better food and a little lunchtime workout will help with my mental state.

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

09/12/129.7/Met my calorie goal yesterday. Zumba plus walked 1.5 miles.
09/13/129.6/Met my calorie goal. Walked 3 miles.
09/14/129.2/Amazed I didn’t gain from salt and calories. It will probably catch up with me tomorrow. Over by an estimated 800 calories (dinner at a Mexican restaurant). 😕On a positive note, I took a yoga class. Will do some more serious calorie burning today.
09/15/127.9/If every day could be like yesterday, I’d be so healthy and fit! I had lots of free time, so I ran one mile, took a Zumba class, walked the dog and spent a few hours working in the yard. Also met my calorie goal.
09/16/127.3/Not as active as Saturday, but did some yard work and walked the dog one mile. Ate French fries for the first time all year, and they did not sit well. 😕 It seems my system can’t handle fried foods anymore since I avoid them so much. Met my calorie goal.
09/17/128.5/I’ve been expecting a bounce, since my weight’s been dropping too quickly over the last several days. Met my calorie goal and did a brutal 70-minute power yoga class. Still on track to meet my goal for this round.
09/18/128.3/Didn’t log everything yesterday, but I know I was over my calorie goal by at least a few hundred. On the plus side, I took a four-mike walk at sunset. Beautiful late summer evening here in WI!
09/19/128.0/I did it! A low-cal day coupled with an hour each of Zumba and yoga helped. Thanks for organizing this challenge. It helped keep me on track.8 -

@ajhouse We’re on the same page! My goal weight is also 125. I’m planning a maintenance range of 124-128. Like you, I’m always happy to see 120-something on the scale. 🙂 Keep up the good work!
@kellycz My goal weight is 125. I would like to set maintenance between 122-125, but I am happy as long as I stay in the 120s for now. I really need to find some time and some jogging or other exercise back in, to help with the last few pounds, to tone, and I just feel better having that time.3 -

09/10 – 128.8 – and back up again, but its almost TOM so I am sure some of it is bc of that. At least I am staying in the same range, practice for maintenance I guess
09/11 – 128.6
09/12 – 128.6 - Had my annual biometric screening at work yesterday and for the first time I was in the normal weight category (right in the middle of it) and had a normal body fat percentage. Now just waiting on the results from the blood screening.
09/13 – 127.8 – glad to see a loss again
09/14 – 127.8
09/15 – 127.4
09/16 – 127.4
09/17 – 127.8 – again. I would love to see more loss, but I am happy that I am at least in my goal weight range.
09/18 – 128.8 – I think some of this is probably delayed from the baby shower I went to Sunday, and Mexican last night (even though I was pretty good)
09/19 – 129.0 – ugh. Ending this round +.2

Round 88 wasn’t any better than the last few rounds. I’m going to keep joining though and keep trying. I need to get my diet under control and start doing some form of exercise again.

This round might be tough. I am on my own for the next couple of weeks. In the past I have gone out and bought a big bag of “junk” and perched on the couch reading books and watching TV. This time...I already have several meals pre-cooked and fruit in the house. I also am planning to start back working out...nothing to strenuous but I have been fairly sedentary for the last two years after some health issues. It is time to no longer use that excuse to sit on my butt so much!

It is a shame for a woman to grow old without ever seeing the strength and beauty of which her body is capable. - Author Unknown
I don't want to live whatever time I have left on this earth not having experienced what I am capable of doing. I don't want to make the excuses..."I am too old"..."I am not healthy enough"..."I am too fat"..."I am not smart enough"...etc...etc. There might be valid reasons why I can't do something but there should never be excuses...only choices.

LTG: 110.0 lbs
STG: 120 (next milestone and 10 pounds to goal weight)
Goals for 10 day Challenge:
- loose 2.4 pounds
Day/Weight/Comment
09/10 121.9 Fast start to the round! A 1.3 drop is likely a water whoosh (particularly after the drops in last round at the end), so expecting weight tomorrow will be back up! (will enjoy the drop for now LOL) Ate lunch out and tried to guesstimate, and may end up being over for the day on calories. Dinner tonight was from SunBasket (which provides total macros, but not for the ingredients) - I did not use all of the dressing/oil so that may balance everything out in the end! Good day on exercise.
09/11 122.6 up as predicted, but really on track and part of my typical weight loss pattern. Girl Power this morning and spin for cardio later in the day. Having pasta tonight so need to preplan carbs and fat for the day to try to stay on track.
09/12 122.8 Some DOMS after deadlifts (starting at 95 lbs)
09/13 122.4 Latin Dance and express cycle class for cardio
09/14 122.4 Xtrain + workout Stage 2A from Strong. Over did wine and had a great dinner out (was low carb at least other than the wine) so treated last night as a cheat night. Nice to see weight did not
09/15 122.2 Xtrain - focused on increasing average power during the cycle half of class (increased over previous week and up to a PWR of 3.6 - best yet!)
09/16 122.4 Busy with work so catching up on posting for the last few days! Weight has been hovering in the 122.X's for the last several days after initial whoosh. But gain from yesterday is muscle according to scale, so will take that as a plus! Girl power this am (working on bench press primarily (starting at 55 lbs), but also did a lot of quad work with walking lunges. Spin class for cardio this evening. weight training often leads to a slight bump (DOMS, water retention with muscle repair) and dinner tonight accidentally had too much salt (needed to replenish some after spin class though :-) but calories should be good for the day so will just wait and see what tomorrow brings!
09/17 122.4 My bio-impedance scale is still at 122.4 (but shows skeletal muscle increased a little so that's a win!), however my old scale read 122.0 (normally with calibration they are within 0.1 to 0.2 pounds of each other.) Still dealing with food retention, so increased fiber this morning. With weights and spin workouts weight often goes up (and scale is not the best measure of progress!) Today is cardio day - spin this morning before work and might try to get in another workout after work as daughter wants to have cheese and spinach ravioli for dinner with a butter/cream sauce. Sometimes it is those cheat meals that are just the trick to break through the plateaus! Still 2 days left to the round and I am not singing yet! NSV: found an old dress from the 90's navy with chartreuse polka dots back when I was in much better shape - fits great, but man those shoulder pads have got to go!
09/18 122.2 Slight drop finally! Girl Power (lifting class) this am and then spin class in the evening for cardio, so good workouts. Hoping the squats don't lead to DOMS and water retention tomorrow for final weigh in of the round. So far 1 lb loss for the round. Getting closer to goal (12.2 pounds to go) so expect that the rate would start to slow down.
09/19 121.9 Back to weight on first day of round and a nice 1.3 lb loss for the round (rate the last 10 days is 0.9/week)! Less than 12 lbs to goal so I really should adjust my expectations to lose at a slower rate than my 1.7 lbs/week trend line now that I am in the healthy weight BMI range. I have increased fiber (raw over-night oats) this week so I think as my body adjusts to the increased fiber (and more water retention with it) that the losses should be more steady, which would be preferable to the big whooshes down, jumps back up, plateaus (i.e start of this round) to repeat, so will see how this continues next round! Also have to remember that I am back to using heavier weights with the lifting, so some of the fat loss is going to be replaced by gain in muscle and a slower loss rate overall, and which shows up in the NSVs rather than on the scale. Feels like first day of Fall here (high of 75 today) so can't wait to go closet-shopping for old fall clothes!

Round 87: 124.8 (4.4 loss) (going to adjust to to 126.4 so 2.8 loss as outlier whoosh is skewing stats :- )

Ugh. I can’t seem to control myself. Worse, it seems I’m indulging in willful self-sabotage. What’s up with that? And I’ve missed my walks as I paint the house. It burns calories but it’s not the same. Sigh.
09/11 - 163.6
I did better yesterday with snacking (as in, I didn’t), but a friend gave me a gorgeous eggplant, so eggplant parmigiana for dinner. Yummy, but cheesy and therefore salty and caloric. Salads today! I also want to say that, though I haven’t been responding much as I scurry off to paint my house happy colors, I do read through everyone’s posts. Thank you for the inspiration and sense of community. You 10-day challenge people are the best.
09/12 - 163
Okie dokie.
09/13 - 163
I haven't yet conquered my late-night snacking impulse. Aaack. I didn't do this for years, but have gotten back in the bad habit. I will try to get past this one night at a time. I'd knit in front of the tv but am sure my kitten would want to help! Maybe I can just sit on my hands. I'm thinking of giving intermittent fasting a try -- stop eating at 6 or so until breakfast. Who here is or has done this, and what do/did you think of the results?
09/14 - 163
09/15 - 163
Still painting the house, room by room.... Yesterday I painted the walk-in closet in my office/studio a gorgeous tangerine. I’m half tempted to move a desk in there and make it my writing closet! This afternoon I plan to start on the actual room — a gorgeous violet. Whee! I love color! Enjoy your day, everyone!
09/16 - 165.2
AAAAACCCCKKKKKKK! What? Has to be salt, though I’ve no idea from where the past few days. Harrumph!
09/17 - 164
Hmmm. Okay, I guess. I am eating smarter, so I think my fat cells are just desperate to hang on. I do want to finish DH this round lower than I started, so planning a good day. Hope you all have a lovely day as well.
09/18 - 164.2
So much to do today — good for stifling the snack monster!
09/19 - 164
Ok, really, this has to stop. I don’t know why I’ve become so lax about my food. Serious control malfunction. I swear I’ll straighten up next round. Jeesh.
