I have no exact goal weight. I go by 5's and so at the moment my goal is 175.
I am at 176 at present
When I reach the 175 ( I hope by the end of this week) I will aim for 170
I find it not so overwhelming to set a target that is far away ( like 50 pounds)
I am like the turtle..slow and easy wins the race..

By this, I mean here on MFP. I've been tracking calories since I was... 25 or so? Never get anywhere near where I'd like to be. Beginning to think it will never happen.

If you are at a calorie deficit, you will lose weight, barring no serious medical issues standing in your way.

Are you using a food scale?

Yes, I tend to agree with you..when I pay attention to the calories ( using a food scale ), get in some cardio ( walking at least 30 minutes non-stop) and see a deficit..I DO LOSE THE POUNDS. However, one must be consistent.

  • Starting weight: 127 lbs
    Goal weight: 200 lbs
    Highest weight: 246 lbs
    Current weight: 229 lbs

Original goal was to gain weight due to being underweight, went a little overboard on the bulking/lifting. Now every time I lose weight I end up putting it back on quickly due to stress. Goal now would be 190 lbs

I started at 86.6 kg at the start of this year. Based on BMI I set my goal weight to be 50 kg.

When I hit 20 kg lost earlier this year, I decided that I would consider revisiting my goal weight when I got to 56 or 55kg. About a month or two ago I started slowing down my weight loss in preparation for maintenance.

I am now 55kg and have decided that when I hit 54 kg I will stop losing and go to maintenance.

Hey at least you're working towards it. Keep at it and before you kno it you'll be where you wanna be.
  • Currently 210 lbs, would like to be in the 240s I think. Maybe bigorexia we'll see. I used to wanna be 180 until I was 180. Then 190, 200, it's fun conquering your goals.

It's hard to remember what my start weight was or should I say 'which time'? :( I'm the worst yo-yo dieter there ever was. I started this year around 165 and my ultimate goal is 135. I'm at 142.5 this a.m. I've been as high as 235 years ago and as low as 129. :(
I'm a 66 yo female and am 5'9". Food is not my friend. :(

A journey of a thousand miles starts with just one step.
You’ve already made so many steps.
    1. Made a commitment
    2. Found MFP
    3. Learned/learning how to log foods eaten and exercise
    4. Started exercising
    5. Started eating better

Add your own from here. All pointed towards the same goal. I think you’ll make it. Don’t you?

I started at 365 pounds. I got down to 336 where I maintained for a few years. 2 years ago I started at the gym in October and by may I was down to 265. I went through a divorce and the stress and depression killed my mojo for the gym. I went back up to 290 when I weighed in on Monday. I have my mojo back again and hitting the gym daily and as of this morning I am 288.8. Right now my goal is 10 lbs by Thanksgiving (Nov 28). And another 10 by Christmas. I'm 6'5" so I'm shooting for 245 lbs as my final goal. But I lift a lot too so weight isn't a huge deal it's more of how good I look naked 😂

Powerlifting took me down 25 pounds in 8 months. Wish I had listened and started a lot sooner.
