Cocoa powder in overnight oats
Anyone have any tips for this? Turned out gritty and incredibly bitter, even with almond butter and honey in it. I made it Sunday so I don't think it's a will mellow with time thing. Best thought I had would be to make hot chocolate, cool it, then make the oatmeal. Maybe add the honey into the hot chocolate as well. I don't want to go too sweet though.

I would think that hot cocoa packets would work, or Nestle‘a Quick. They have sugar in them. You would have to experiment with amounts. Maybe stir in mini chocolate chips right before you eat the oatmeal. Or check Pinterest for a recipe for chocolate overnight oats.0

I would try slaking the cocoa powder with a tbsp of boiling water before adding it to your oats.
Based on the fact that proper cocoa powder takes a good bit of stirring to ‘wet’ properly when making actual cocoa with it I imagine it turned out feeling gritty because the powder was still powder rather than actually amalgamated into the liquid you soaked the oats in.1
