Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Ate away from home several times this week, struggling to guesstimate food sometimes, I tend to overestimate I guess, as shown by a loss this week. Need to stop worrying too much and get better at relaxing instead of stressing over unknown food weights and nutrition. Trying to keep my number one focus as adequate protein.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Travel week, but solid on the exercise. Traveling can be tougher to track and log accurately. I know for sure the Thursday night BBQ I went to while tracked was probably way more calories then I logged. That said weight is almost back in range as of this morning’s weigh in, so I am pleased with that. I will say this week more so then usual I had strong cravings to eat something like an apple fritter or cake first thing in the morning, this passed and I did not cave. I am not sure if that’s because I am trying to stick to the 1990 calories and not eating back exercise or just a mentally tough week. Consistency is the key to this thing.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I’m onto w2d2 of c25k. I’m having a difficult time finding time to run this week since I’m responsible for 2 small children every day. I’m feeling frustrated by my weight and itching to get out of the house. As a result of being stuck at home more than usual I’m bored and eating more and getting crankier and just feeling stuck in the cycle. I ran out of my thyroid medicine, but my doctor doesn’t think I need it anyway so I guess we’ll see.5 -
HEAVIEST weight: 175.4 in early 2013.

Success of the week: I kept my weight in my goal range all week.
Struggle of the week: Still struggling with avoiding emotional eating, and my scale & average weights are going up even though I'm at least keeping them near goal and well in range.
Other success of the week: Working on keeping in my mind that I'm still maintaining and actually doing pretty good at it the past year.

Name: missperfectpitch
Height: 5'4"
Total weight lost: About 43 pounds
Time it took to lose: 1 year and 2 months
How long in maintenance: I hit my goal weight in the beginning of January 2018, but officially started maintenance in mid-March 2018 after figuring out my calories for a couple of months.

Oct 12: 112 (trend 112.2)
Oct 19: 112.3 (trend 112.3)
Oct 26: 112.1 (trend 112.2)
Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I was very successful in getting in a ton of steps this week. I managed over 104k steps overall for the week, with yesterday being 23.5k steps, and two other days over 15k steps. Not too much effort involved other than going for long walks, though the two other days were days that I took off from work. It's quite a bit easier to get in a lot of steps when you're not stuck in front of a computer for most of the day!
My weight is still slightly above my maintenance range, though it's slowly decreasing, so this likely means that I did gain a couple of pounds at the end of August/beginning of September when I was on a 2-week vacation, which I'm slowly getting rid of now.9 -

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: My weight was a little low this morning. I think it is just a weird fluctuation. I was probably a little dehydrated. I fully expect it to be back up tomorrow. Especially since we ate Chili's for lunch and pizza for dinner. Plus pie. 😄

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: My weight bounced around a whole lot this week, but a low number this morning. Biggest struggle was how much a couple of slightly higher morning weights bothered me. Still have not totally transitioned into the mindset that any weight in my range should be seen as a success. I spent the bulk of the week in the city, so lots of walking around. Need to keep reading this forum!

October 28th: 48.5 kg (107 lb)
Success(es)/struggles of the week: We went away in the motorhome for a few nights, it was good to have a break, try to relax for a few days. So, I couldn’t weigh in for three mornings and then on Sunday the scale read 49.4 kg! But this morning it was down to an expected 48.5, a small gain overall on the week. I’m happy with my weight but I’ve not been able to track my food and my exercise routines are all over the place.
We still don’t have the test results for my son so we don’t know what treatment regime might be, this waiting is so difficult. My son is quite well but he gets anxious, and he needs people with him to distract him. He obviously isn't working, and he can't drive, so my daughter in law is feeling the strain. I do my best but we are all getting tired and stressed.12 -

Success(es): Got trend weight web interface all set up. Really like the ability to see a weight range up and down from a goal weight. Wish more apps did this. October mileage is going to be my highest month yet! (250+)
Struggle(s): My legs are getting tired. Might need a down mileage week before I peak with some multiple 20 milers for Marathon training.

Exercising 6-7 days per week
Oct 26: High wt. pants wouldn’t close. Faced facts. Decided to diet back to 155 by Jan 1. ***cut back net carbs to 135-142 spread throughout day.*** This finally allowed me to eliminate hunger & hit lower calorie goal...
Struggles: Oct 24: It seems it should be easy to lose 2.2 lbs after losing 72-78lbs... Such a curious thing: maintenance.

Current struggles: none. A blissful state after months of stress & despair over wt creep.

@MadisonMoll so cutting back on carbs and increasing exercise is helping? Looking for strategies to help when I finally reach maintenance again. (Hoping to be there in January)2

@MadisonMoll so cutting back on carbs and increasing exercise is helping? Looking for strategies to help when I finally reach maintenance again. (Hoping to be there in January)
@swim777
I’m sorry, I missed your question earlier...
I think you will develop strategies that work for you over time- just never give up.
Yes, carb cutting & exercise worked for me through Nov 20.
But now a sudden increase of blood pressure due to eating out made me realize I had to make changes.
I stopped eating out - for health reasons. Going from 110/70 to 139/88 in 2 days scared me. I guess my body needs extra care.
So that was number 1. BP nicely came down & the lbs that had crept on as water retention did too.
Then I stumbled on Protein Pacing.
For the first time in my life, 5 meals a day is working beautifully.
Never hungry, sustained energy all day & night, eating Much More fruit/veg, continuing my walking...
https://loseitblog.com/2020/01/12/what-is-the-protein-pacing-diet/
I eat approx 9:30, 12:30, 3:30, 6:30, 9:30
20 grams protein at each (milk, yogurt, meat, nuts, etc)
<2,000 cals/day
<1,500mg salt/day
1 protein bar & 1 small sweet max a day
>9 3-oz svg veg/fruit/day
Just never give up. Turtle wins the race. Keep looking at your data, note how you feel, identify one thing to change/firm habit at a time!
It’s totally Do-able if you really want to be Healthy.0 -
