I have SOOO much water retention, i look 5 months pregnant, and my stomach feels like a water balloon. Ive gained 4lbs since yesterday, and 6lbs in the past 2 days (i guess fast food (just once) and movie popcorn (took kids to Frozen 2) will do that) hopefully its down in a day and a half when weigh in.

You guys, Idk what I’m really thinking trying to lose 10lbs by Xmas. I’m struggling just to get down to two pounds. I think I set an realistic goal.

Nothing wrong with changing your goal, might keep you motivated if you change it to make it more achievable. There’s only a few weeks to go now, what do you think of 5lbs by Christmas? You had a really good week last week

@Ihughes2019 yes ty. Even 5lbs sounds like a reach at the rate I’m going but a lil more realistic.

    Hi Everyone,

4 weeks in and I'm down .4 lbs this week. I've lost a total of 5.6 lbs over the past 4 weeks so I really can't complain - it never goes as fast as I'd like. I need to remind myself to stay committed for the entire week - I often get a bit lazy over the weekend.

My big challenge coming up: I'm going away for 11 days on Friday. There will be parties and lots of eating in restaurants. I'm going to try to order salads as much as possible and try to be vigilant about walking and drinking lots of water. So I won't be weighing in next week as I won't have access to a scale - yikes!

Have 2 great weeks, everyone! We're coming into the holiday season so stay strong!!

Challenge starting weight is 226.4 lbs.

    10/28 - 226.4 lbs
    11/04 - 224.4 lbs - 2 lbs lost
    11/11 - 222.4 - 2 lbs lost
    11/18 - 221.2 - 1.2 lbs lost
    11/25 - 220.8 - .4 lbs lost

Total weight loss goal by Christmas- 5 lbs.

Tried to get ahead of my weight loss this week because in two days I plan on feasting. I generally eat a low carb diet but I have learned that I am happiest when I allow for "feast days" when I can eat freely on special occasions. These feast days always result in an immediate (up to 5lb weight gain) due to both water retention and some fat gain but I always lose it within a few days to a week. It works for me and is entirely worth it when I think of the amazing sweet potato casserole and stuffing I will finally be tasting again. Been Low carb over two years now and I LIVE for these days, lol. (Actually, I love my low carb lifestyle which is why I do it, but these feast days make me really happy :D ) So yes, I'm celebrating a good weight loss this week but I do not anticipate a weight loss next week.

This has been a really good week and the numbers have been great. Down 6 lbs yessssss. 1900 cal a day seems to be my happy place. That is a clean 1900 as well, no processed crap. The holiday season really cranks up now and has always been a period of time, a short period of time where I typically gain 5-10 lbs in maybe 5 weeks, not this time, nope not happening.

    Challenge starting weight- 259

    10/23- 258.7

10/30- 252.9 - I would assume that has to be some water weight drop because the weekend prior to the 23rd wasn't my greatest showing of self control around margaritas lol, probably realistically closer to 3lbs. My average has been 2-3lbs a week so that would make more sense. Total loss from challenge start to date - 5.8lbs

11/6- 248.6 - Moving along. Had a decent week with a ton of physical activity in construction projects, house work, etc so made a huge stride. Total loss from challenge start to date - 10.1lbs

11/13- 244.3 - Haven’t taken an off day from my workouts here lately, going to have to do that today. The newly added pull up negatives have my shoulders starting to feel it. Weight loss is still more than I expect per week but I haven’t really been eating into my burn off amount and sticking to staying under my baseline 2lb a week numbers. I’ve also been doing a lot of construction (building my wife a greenhouse) and starting to work my falconry bird. It’s clearly paying off. Thankfully I don’t see any muscle loss but that’s definitely due to the constant addition of strength training exercises. Total loss from challenge start to date - 14.4lbs

11/20- 239.3 - ENTERED MY TOTAL CHALLENGE GOAL RANGE NOTABLY EARLY!!! Wow, unsuspecting chain of weeks for me. I’ve even been doing more and more strength training and seeing small gains (which any gain is good in this kind of deficit to me). The burn rate combined with increased strength is abstract to me. Already hit my challenge goal, time to keep plugging away towards my total end goal. It’s actually possible to hit my goal weight by the end of the year even if my burn rate slows down from where it has been last few weeks. 5 more weeks to go and 15lbs to go so 3lbs a week. Total loss from challenge start to date - 19.4lbs.

11/27- 237 - Slowed down. I had seen a spike of what I can only assume is water weight across Fri/Sat to 243-244 so I was a little worried but it tapered back to normal and by Monday I was down to 237.8 and today 237 so it seems I did manage to stay on track regardless of the spike. I knew it was only a matter of time until this happened especially with the increased strength training and fluctuations of those exercises. This little setback does make it a little tougher to possibly hit my goal of 225 by end of challenge, but there’s an extra week between that and the end of the year so I’m still gunning for 225! Total loss from challenge start to date - 21.7lbs.

    12/4-
    12/11-
    12/18-
    12/25-

Challenge End Weight Goal- 235-240, my total end goal weight is 225 so if I manage to overshoot I certainly won’t complain! lol!

I've stayed on track the past few days after nearly a week of off-plan eating. That off-plan period may have set me back a week or so, but the important thing is that I'm back to it. I'm not planning to restrict my eating on Thanksgiving or the day after (still with family with limited control over food options), but I won't go overboard either. If I get back on track on Saturday, I'm hoping I can maintain or lose a tiny bit by next Wednesday.

A strong week, as I was able to increase movement a bit more. Family plans will reduce my burn tomorrow, but I know I will still end the day with an overall deficit. Hoping for a total of 3-3.5 pounds this coming week after all is said and done. Goal is creeping nearer and nearer!

3.8 pounds down for the week, 17.4 so far for the challenge period.

I think I've been holding onto some water weight. So glad to see it gone! I'm a tad bit worried about tomorrows smorgasbord. Going to to my best to not go overboard, while enjoying family and dinner. Happy Thanksgiving ya'll!

Enjoying Thanksgiving, keeping it together pretty well so far. Wife was just recently diagnosed diabetic so we are eating very clean and watching added sugars and carbs big time. See you all at the weigh in 12/4, have a blessed day.
