10/30: 292.0 lbs (+1.4) .. bit of an uptick this morning, nothing too bad. Most likely going to take it pretty easy today aside from some walking.
10/31: 290.9 lbs (-1.1) … back down near my current low weight. Had a good run this morning, 3 miles over 40 minutes. It was warmer than normal for this time of year, but rainy. The rain felt pretty good though! I have my second strength training personal trainer session this evening after work, then I’m manning the door for trick or treaters for the remainder of the evening.

@CamandJarvis Congratulations on being upright and mobile! It’s almost 37 years since my rods, screws, cable, and wires were “installed.” I was 32 at the time with the likelihood of being in a wheelchair by 40. Even with the post-op related issues, being upright and mobile is worth it!10

Will this be the round that I hit my goal for this year? It will be if I get serious and end the eating out. My goal for this round is at least a two pound loss.
10/30 284.6 This bounce up is nothing more than the usual ovulation bounce up. I actually went back over my weight and ovulation times to prove it to myself. If all goes the same as the past it should be gone tomorrow or at worst in two days.
10/31 282.2 And the whoosh. I do have a small family party and eat out planned today, but I preplanned them and know what I can have to stay in calorie goals. I might still see a bounce tomorrow from sodium, but I’m positive I will reach my goal for this year by Monday at the latest.

NEVER GIVE UP! You can surprise yourself! I have.
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

10/30 120.5 Great workout yesterday but terrible headache this morning. I know it’s the arthritis in my neck and it will pass. I changed some settings Senza so it adjusts my calories according my burn at the gym so I had more calories but was still under 10g total carbs. I’m sure the uptick is water retention for muscle recovery. HoopsGuy72, you have inspired me! Carl went to the gym and I’m getting ready to go myself!
10/31 121.0 I enjoyed the gym yesterday! WHAT??? Unfortunately, maybe too much. My left shoulder and both of my ankles hurt. I will probably go this morning but take it easy.
@tiabirdie56 Since I never throw anything away, I probably STILL have that little book somewhere!8 -
@ConfidentRaven You are amazing! You are doing so well! I love how level-headed you are about the whole process too! Great job planning how to navigate the party so that you can enjoy life and continue on your success! Hugs!

I'm till trying to get down to 128, before officially starting to maintain, but mostly want to stay under 130. I'm happy that my weight is staying level even with adding in the occasional carbs. I love this challenge to keep me on track and keep me grounded in reality! My other goal this 10 days is to regain some arm mobility after my mastectomy.

10/31 -183.6- My husband had an appointment yesterday so we had a fast food lunch. Calories were over but I am trying to keep them to about 1400 when I don't formally exercise. I was more active than normal yesterday and will be today even though I may not get to do actual exercise. For me, part of this is learning to have a healthy relationship with food in different circumstances and not to let anxiety get the best of me when I know things are not going according to my planned routine.

Goal for this round: Get under 220 (same as last round). Plan better when I'm having "cheat" days (parties, eating out with family and friends, et cetera). Limit alcohol intake (no more than two drinks on any occasion, stick with red wine or spirit + diet soda).
Day/Weight/Comment
10/30: 221.2 (-0.2)/18.6 (0.0). I'll take anything as long as there's a "-" next to it. I didn't feel well last night, so I didn't make it to the gym. I'll get there tonight, though. I still feel like I'm on a good track, but I need to notice that yesterday was the first time that I have missed the gym in a long time. In the past, this would be "one of those things" that might throw me off. I really want to get this right this time. I've "gotten it right" before, but I need to figure out how to maintain it once I get there. I REALLY want this. I need to stay focused.
10/31: 220.6 (-0.6)/18.6 (0.0). I went to the gym last night and pushed myself, even though I am pretty sure my back is "out of whack." It went fine, but I'm really looking forward to my visit with the chiropractor on Monday. It's hilarious how it takes one day to really screw up, but it takes multiple days (sometimes even a week) to make up for it. I need to try to remember not to get the "binge" attitude: when a "cheat item" or a "cheat meal" turns into a "cheat day." The earlier I end my binge behavior, the less damage I do (and less time I have to spend "making up" for it).

10/29 …..188.0….. ENDING WEIGHT LAST ROUND
10/30 …..188.0 ….. Travel today for my Mammogram & Oncology check. A routine remission check for breast cancer previous. Today will be inactive as I travel & will contain restaurant foods. Not a good way to start a round, but I’ll try to stay focused as much as my willpower will allow. Yesterday’s stats: 1273 Calories In / 2617 Calories Out. 25 Net Carbs. 17,508 Total Steps & 7.41 Total Miles. 12/13 Fitbit Step Hours. I slept 4 hours on the button. Up early to prepare for trip. I went for a hall walk in the school (cold outside) for 124 minutes at about 3.0 mph. The extra calorie burn was 694. Good luck everyone this round.
10/31 …..192.2 ….. Golden Corral. Need I say more? An AMAZING place to a country bumpkin like me! Cancer center appointment revealed no breast cancer-yay! Still in remission in that sense. However, they have found a nodule on my lung during a chest X-Ray. It was done because of some symptoms I’m experiencing, especially during exercise or hiking. The size and location is concerning, especially given my age and cancer/family history. They could not fit me in for the CT Scan (busy University of Michigan Hospital). So I am home and will go to my nearest hospital ASAP (about an hour away) and have it done. They will send it back to the University for interpretation. They are also setting me up for the BRCA and genetic testing. Listening to their explanation, its AMAZING stuff. They find out the likeliness of ANYTHING that shows up in your genetic testing (combined with family history info). Example: if it shows up possible colon problems in my future, I would be assigned a gastrologist that will perform colonoscopies more frequently and monitor my digestive health routinely. If cancer or another illness pops up, it is found very quickly with a much higher likelihood of successful repair. In the meantime, I’m not going to lie, after having already went through cancer once, I am shaking in my shoes. Breast Cancer often metastasizes to the lung, so I’m very nervous. And I’m so far from everything here where I live. If I have cancer again, this time around my husband is not alive to help me, to cover me at the home business or to travel with me. Just my Autistic son who doesn’t drive. Our nearest treatment center is 90 minutes away on 65mph roads. And the snow we got today is still coming down. All prayers and hugs appreciated.

Female, 5’8”, 68 YO.
This is my third complete round, lost a few pounds on the first go round, maintained last round, hoping to drop a pound this time around. More would be welcomed, but as I’m within the healthy weight range for my height, I’ve round it gets harder and harder to drop and keep it off. But y’all are inspiring me, and I haven’t gone off target/plan since joining these challenges, so thanks HEAPS!

10/30 157.6 SMH, I'm up .2 pounds from yesterday, the end of round 93. Stress eating though, due to death in the family, so hoping I can overcome this soon.
10/31 156.4 No excitement... on our way home from our walk with the dogs, I had my mind on my brother, on a song that wouldn't leave my head, everywhere except on where I was putting my feet. Stepped 1/2 off the asphalt, twisted and sprained my right ankle and wrist, bruised and scraped my left knee, shin and elbow, and my cheek bone bounced off a nice big stone! So... no treat on my Halloween, just tricks! ROFL Have a great Halloween y'all, I will, but now, from a sitting position! ROFL

@ConfidentRaven You are doing FANTASTIC! One day of sodium might take 2 days to get rid of, but stick with the plan and bet you'll be pleasantly surprised when it is gone!
@musicsax so very sorry to hear of your loss. Condolences and kind thoughts sent your way.
@Tracie_Lord 2 pounds in one day? SODIUM! Just water weight, stick with the plan, you'll drop it in a day or two and probably more to boot.4 -
@quiltingjaine I was just 3 weeks over 25 at mine and thought my life was done for. My poor grandfather has been through 5 back surgeries, walks with a cane and is hunch-backed. I swore I was doomed for that same fate. Luckily, I listened to the doctors and I'm so thankful I'm stubborn enough that I stuck through it. (He, however, was too stubborn to listen to doctors and wanted to do it his way. Figured out that's exactly why he is where he is in life)
Glad you're doing so well!! They've told me due to the deterioration already present in the disc above my fusion, I'll likely need another in my lifetime. I'm doing EVERYTHING in my power to avoid that like the plague. So far, so good! Hopefully I can be like you and beat the prediction. You inspire me. I also like the idea of those things being "installed" since it sounds so much better. I'll use that from now on (:

10/30:205.4- Yayyyy! Not as much as I was hoping for, but still happy it's going down. Now to leave the 205 zone.
10/31:205.4-No gain, but no loss which is kind of annoying. I did really good and think I messed up lat night when I went to the new boba place in town. I didn't get boba, just a green tea with cream topping, but think the sweetener and topping threw my body off. Staying in tonight and might get a keto pizza from Blaze. Happy Halloween!

Round 94 – Oct. 30 to Nov. 7/ 2019
Female, 5’, 66 years. Goals – finish calorie log each day, only yogurt or fruit in the evening and nothing after 9 p.m. SW – 163.4, GW – 162, UGW – 140. (This really should be 125 or 130 but that seems like such a long ways to go and 140 would be a huge improvement.) Planning to get my winter gym membership this round and get back to regular 2-3 times a week workout. Before that though will take a few days of catch up and plan.
Day/Weight/Comment
10/30 – 163.4 – Not such a great day, but didn’t go totally overboard and now am finished with the Tues. p.m. class. Also got a skiff of snow so the next 3 days I’m going to spend tidying up outside and putting leaves through the chopper and then I’m done with outside stuff! Yay, and back to the gym for my exercise.
10/31 – 164.2 – This is what I expected to see yesterday. Getting close to my all-time high weight. Good day yesterday though, no LNS and reasonable meals. No exercise but did do a gym membership online last night. We have a concert coming up beginning of Dec. and I either must shrink around the middle or get a new top. This is my last year with them so just want to keep the old one. I am doing an online sewing/fitting class so had to take detailed measurements – we’ll see how far I can get this round and in Nov.

Awesome! The gym really makes a difference. I downplayed how effective the gym is regarding weight loss and overall health for a long time, but I'm seeing (and feeling) significant results by hitting the gym hard three times per week (mainly weightlifting).
I'm "working my way" back to be inspired by you, too. Keto was REALLY good to me when I stuck to it. I've been relatively low-carb for a long time (almost always under 100g/day, usually under 75), but your results (and continued success) with keto has me considering giving it another try. My biggest concern with it has always been health issues (lots of what feels like misinformation out there warning against long-term keto), but I've also read a bunch that suggests it's actually how we're SUPPOSED to eat.
Anyways... I may ask for some help at some point.
I agree about the gym. I hope to get back to the gym one day. Right now I can't. I have a membership at company gym, but my knees are terrible, but I said I can still do weights, etc and still have only went once. Walking is good but it is not the same as the gym for sure. But walking is better than nothing at all.7 -
