I received my second of a two-shot series of shingles vaccines on Tuesday. By Tuesday night I became very ill. Almost passed out in the night on my way back to bed from the restroom, went down and hit my head. Laid on the floor for a while and then finally made my way back to bed. I called in sick on Wednesday which according to my colleges has never happened before and I have worked at the same company for 21 years. Diet wise I could not take in enough calories for a few days and while I did exercise through Tuesday night after that it was out of the question. Finally feeling some better this morning. Not sure if I will exercise today or not.

Yeah those shingles shots are absolutely the worst!!!! I had terrible reactions (fever and migraines etc) with both of them. The first was so bad I ****almost*** did not want the second. However with the second I was prepared and when it hit me in the middle of the night I had meds around. Hope you are feeling better soon. For me 4 days and all done.

@erjones11 That is awful! I had the shingles vaccines last year and they were very painful, but nothing like your experience. Just take care and I hope you feel better soon.

    Nov 16: 111.4 (trend (111.5)
    Nov 23: 110.7 (trend 111.1)
    Nov 30:

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: Still continuing to trend downwards back into the middle of my range! Of course, with the holidays, holiday parties, lots of baking, and a week-long vacation thrown in over the next month, I'm unlikely to keep trending downwards. I'm hoping to get back to 109.5-110, which is where I'm most comfortable at, though I'll still be satisfied with staying in the 110.5 range over the next few weeks.

@erjones11 I hope you're feeling better now - that's a pretty terrible reaction! I just had my first yesterday and have only had a bit of soreness. Give yourself enough time to fully recover and don't push back into things too quickly!

Thank you Kgirl. Yes very painful. I am glad yours was not like mine. I learned my sister had a similar reaction as me on her second dose as well. Genetics

Hi I'm new here. But not new to maintenance. I hope this time I actually do just that this time...

    Age: 40 (until December 3rd)
    Sex: Female
    Height: 5'11"
    Total weight lost: 16 pounds
Time it took to lose: 2ish months
How long in maintenance: Couple weeks
Goal Weight: 150 (Hit November 8th)
    Maintenance weight range: 147 - 153

Average weight recorded for September: 160.1
Average weight recorded for October: 154.0

    Week of...
    November 3: 150.8 (Trend Weight: 151.3)
    November 10: 148.8 (Trend: 150.2)
    November 17: 148.8 (Trend: 149.3)
    November 24: 148.4 (Trend: 148.7)

Successes: Was able to enjoy a brewery and fried food yesterday and still lose a tad bit of weight. I've got my Thanksgiving meal plan worked out and food bought. Going to try and dry brine the turkey for the first time. I'll let you know how that goes. Not logging this Thursday or next Tuesday (my birthday) so we'll also see how that goes...

Struggles: From now until vacation I have 12 work days left. My coworkers are going to learn how obnoxious I get when I'm excited about something! Lol

HEAVIEST weight: 175.4 in early 2013.
    Total Weight lost: 30 pounds
Time it took to lose: ~6 months
How long in maintenance: Since July 2018 -- but with some fluctuation outside of goal range.
Maintenance weight range: 142 - 148 (and not sure that's the right answer)

Average weight recorded from 2017 (12 months): 163.8
Average weight recorded from 2018 (12 months): 150.7

Average weight recorded from January: 148.4
Average weight recorded from February: 146.3

Average weight recorded from August: 145.8
    Average weight recorded from September:143.2
Average weight recorded from October: 142.3

    Average weight Week of...
    October 28 - November 3: 143.8
    November 4 = 10: 145.1
    November 11 - 17: 144.7
    November 18 - 24: 144.6
    November 25 - December 1:

Success of the week: I seem to have been able to stop the slow gain that started near the beginning of October. My daily weight never got out of my maintenance range, but I was getting close. I actually had started to see it come off the peak last week; this week was really just maintaining pretty well.

Struggle of the week: As steady as I've been, I still seem to be just a little over the goal I have for my average weight. Holiday week coming up may be a challenge. If I can hold steady, even a little higher than I like, that should be ok for the coming week.

    November 24th: 160.1 (trend 161.5)

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: A relatively uneventful week. Still some calorie rollercoastering, but generally things are okay. Having a holiday meal at work this week shouldn't make much of a difference - we generally don't have time to sit down for long, and I can stick to the healthier stuff.

    Have a great week, everyone!

@lesdarts180, just wanted to send ((( <3))) to you and your family.

I was in your position 2 1/2 years ago and know what the uncertainty is like.

I hope the diagnosis goes well, h.

    Nov 24: 112.0 scale/ 113.2 trend

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: I never did check in yesterday. Still down a little this week, but I'm ok with that going into Thanksgiving this week. I'm sure it will be coming back up soon. And my weight is usually lowest on Saturday and Sunday and then comes back up during the week.

@lesdarts180 Sending good thoughts and prayers your way.

    November 26: 145.7 (Trend:146.4)

    Welcome to November!

Successes: Trend line going the other way. I'm still trying to find out where my low weight / maint range should be. I know I'm close to where I want to be but we'll see where I settle in. I'm thinking of trying 140 - 145 and see how I feel through out the day and during my running. Starting to get push ups and situps / planks integrated into my morning and evening routine. I want to eventually get to being able to knock out 100 / 100 twice a day.

Struggles: Finding time to run with 10 hour day shift while getting a proper amount of sleep to be prepared for a full active day at work. Think I might try to do 5 runs over 4 days with one 2 a day to get through the 5 runs I have a week

I'm new to maintenance. I didn't log monthly totals.

    Starting weight: 222
    Current weight: 127
    How long maintaining: 1 month

Successes struggles: weight went up 5lbs in the last month when I increased calories and I only upped a little, I'm hoping it'll go back down as I hadn't been eating more than 100 exercise calories back. All I can think of is it's glycogen. I've been discouraged and not in the mood to work out as hard because of this. I'm a little nervous about Thanksgiving as I've planned to enjoy it and not worry about calories but don't want to gain more weight.

Maintenance does that. When you first increase calories you will retain more water and have more waist in your system. Don’t give up on your exercise you need what made you lose successful help you maintain. Easing in to maintenance by slowly increasing calories helped me figure things out.

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: A bit of a bump up in my weight, but that was not unexpected this week with eating out Wednesday night, Thanksgiving on Thursday, and monthly hormonal water retention. The next several weeks will be more of the same with birthday week, holiday parties week, a vacation week + Christmas, then New Year's. I've already planned out those weeks to be surplus weeks and banked calories for them, but I'm still planning to keep my exercise and steps up to try to stay within my range.

    November 18 - 24: 144.6
    November 25 - December 1: 144.9

Success of the week: My November weight trend has been amazingly consistent even though it's up a pound from November 1. October wasn't a good month, so at least November didn't bring another BIG gain; just a small one. I'm still in the middle of my range, but I've had some crazy days when the scale was way up (or down). I need to remind myself that despite this small gain, I am actually maintaining pretty well. Not ideal, but pretty good.

Struggle of the week: I ended November on a high weight. Oh well. My trending weight was actually pretty flat all month, but it's higher in my range than I want. But still in range.
