June was not a good month.

Wait. That's not right. June was an AWESOME month. It's just not been that good with respect to weight management. The first two or three weeks were especially difficult, but there's a reason. It's not an excuse, it's a reason. I am going through a major life transition. June first was the first day of my new reality, and it's much less stressful. I did my share of celebrating for sure. More than my share perhaps. So June was a great month.

Now I guess it's time to recommit to maintaining the good habits I have developed over the last four years or so and to add more good habits and routines as I settle in to the present and the future.

How about more good news: my mass is down from a year ago even though it did go up a bit mid-year. That's how maintenance is supposed to work; up and down, up and down. I'm currently at a mass that's just a bit above the maintenance range, so there's still work to do. Always will be. I hope I have fun with it. You too!

Mostly held steady this month with a slight decline.

    8hj0oj2yin53.png

Last three months look like a roller coaster ride:

Kind of looks like maintenance to me. I should be OK with that; my goal may be lower than it should be, but I'm still aiming for it.

Not a good month. I'm up four pounds. I'm "only" up 3.2 pounds for the quarter.

I think maybe it's been a while since I've had a successful month. October sort of was one! Barely, but still I will consider it a success.

    k9as3wm316pv.png

Good thing because the previous couple months were a struggle.

Have I turned the corner? I'd like to say yes, but I'll have to get back to you about that after I know the answer.

@mtaratoot Wow! Especially from the middle of the month on. That is the hardest part as it includes all the Halloween candy! As you know, Halloween candy is not just on Halloween. It's from the moment we buy it.

I also use trendweight and have it synced to my fitbit. I love it because it really helps me see the whole picture as I fluctuate so much from the bloating with my heart issues. Your graph looks fantastic. I hope that November did you well too.

I ended the month six pounds less than I started it!

I am even down about a pound from one year ago. I am about exactly the same I was two years ago. But I'm still five pounds over what I was three years ago, so I still have work to get back to that.

As the year comes to a close, it's worthwhile, perhaps, to look back farther than a month. This is that long look back. It's been a bit of a crazy year. I had gained back in 2020 as the COVID-19 restrictions took hold, and I did what many people did by seeking comfort through food. Eventually I stopped making bread. After gaining a while, I hit a plateau. I dropped some, but that didn't last.

In late spring, I managed to drop some of the weight and get back into maintenance. I don't remember what happened, but I started gaining again. The last quarter of the year I had a visit from disease and then injury. I lost rapidly during disease. It was a shot in the arm. As I recovered, the weight decided to come see me again. Oh well. To be honest, I had started to lose slowly right before disease. I have been losing rapidly again after the major injury. Shot in the arm again? Not exactly. I have been eating in deficit, and also my body is using more fuel to heal itself. The body has an amazing capacity.

So let's look forward to success in the new year. I'm ready to put the twist-tie on the sack of 2022 that will get hucked to the curb and open up a fresh package of fantastic tomorrow. Join me?

Here's what my month, quarter, and year looked like....

I am up just more than one pound for the month of December from a ten-day average of 149.0 on November 30 to 150.2 on December 31.

I am down 5.6 pounds for the quarter from 155.8 on September 30.
