Thanksgiving: What are you bringing to the table?

I still don't know what I am doing for Thanksgiving (or even for Christmas) since none of my kids live near by. We may go out with one of them, if we fell like driving or stay home. If we stay home, I may cook something simple for the two of us unless my niece and her family would be interested in joining us.
I am not longer interested in large supermarket shopping trips or lots of cooking during the holidays. I have been doing that for many years and it is not longer appealing. I am getting too old....

Given this year's politics, a sawed off shotgun and a Bowie knife.6

We're hosting this year (smaller group, only 7 adults 2 kids) so we'll be doing it all - though my mom is bringing the rolls, sister is bringing dessert and I'm sure my father-in-law will bring dessert too, always does. We're doing the standard meal: turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cheesy cauliflower, sweet potato casserole and corn.4

To my mom’s family thing - pumpkin cheesecake and hash brown casserole. I also usually arrive to my parents house early to help her cook since she does a lot of the cooking. I usually end up making the mashed potatoes for her because my adult sister will only eat them when I make them.
To my Dad’s family thing - mashed potatoes and strawberry cheesecake
For my husbands family thing - It’s usually at my house, and I usually just do all the cooking.6 -

Not sure we haven’t divvied it up yet. I know for sure my husband is making the turkey (yum-he’s so good at smoking meat) and I’m making the gravy. Beyond that I’m not sure. I like to volunteer for as much as possible. I’d like to bring the mashed potatoes, corn and strawberry jello pretzel dessert thing.
Oh and apple pie. And chocolate cake because it is also my soon to be 4 year olds birthday that day.5 -
I usually cook the whole shebang, but this year my five far-flung adult children, along with their spouses and kids, are all congregating in a rented house for the holiday and bringing in a meal from Whole Foods. The menu looks fabulous but there's always room for more pie, so I'm bringing my mincemeat pie (beloved by a few but spurned by most) and pecan pie (only marginally more popular). Why bring such unloved desserts? They're my personal favorites and its all about me.18

Haha! You’ve no idea! I’d love to branch out, but my mom’s town is so small, that’s the only place open on Thanksgiving!6 -

Hosting this year, gonna be at least a dozen peeps at the table, and I'm always requested to make my version of sweet potato casserole. Is it a vegetable? Is it a dessert? Who cares, just pass it over!7

The SIL and BIL will have it and it's going to be five miles away. MIL and her husband are bringing the dessert. I'm bringing the turkey (lots of butter!) and cranberry sauce. My husband makes a mean sourdough-sausage stuffing
I will be walking the local Turkey Trot!4 -

Ha! Sadly, my family will have to carry on without my jello fruit cocktail extravaganza this year. I'm afraid it wouldn't survive the long and winding road to the rental house.1 -
I'm going out with my husband's family. I'm not a big fan of restaurants on holidays (I hate crowds), but we alternate years between his family and mine, and they like to eat out. I'd rather be at my parents' house eating Grandma's stuffing. Grandma is no longer with us, but the stuffing lives on!4

Hmm —- Mini pumpkins filled with roast pumpkin..
Roast Brussels sprouts for sure. ✅
Maybe some nice dragonfruit for dessert... 🤔
My husband wanted me to make macarons but they take forever and are so delicate- I’ll need some motivation for that.. jury is out on that one.3 -
Everything! Turkey, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, stuffing, sautéed fresh green beans with mushrooms and onions, pumpkin pie and apple crisp with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. My 12 year old son helps with the prep and makes the pie himself. I look forward to cooking and eating this meal as soon as the weather starts to change! We only have 7 people usually, so it’s not a huge group, but it’s a lot of prep. We’ve got it down to a science now, so it’s fun and not at all stressful. I’m looking forward to a day or 2 in the kitchen with my kid most of all!5

Yeah...everyone in the family like the fried one so I'm the designated turkey frier.. 😁
Typically do two 20#s..1 -

I won my ex's old friends in the break-up, and they're ordering for the second year in a row (we went waaaaay overboard when we would cook). I'll be making avalanche bark (like rice krispie treats with white chocolate and peanutbutter) and schmancy rice krispie treats for their son with celiac. And because I'm not a big fan of pie. Might do a pumpkin pudding, too, since it's stupidly easy.2

I was surprised by your questions. Frying turkeys is so popular where I live, I had no idea it wasn't common knowledge.2 -
I hate Thanksgiving food and get-togethers so I'm making a blueberry tart at home and we're going to splurge on lobster.8

We are going to my in-laws. MIL is a traditional southern cook. Lots of casseroles and bread and pies. I’ll be bring the sweet potato and hashbrown casserole and pumpkin pie. Hubs is frying the turkey. I promised my little guy we’d make his favorite Oreo dessert so adding Oreo truffles to the dessert menu. I love thanksgiving. I love to cook and bake so one of my favorite holidays. Will be getting in a early morning run that day so I can enjoy my treats just a little bit more 😊3

I usually bring dessert to my husbands thanksgivings family dinner. Thinking of bringing caramelized butternut squash and pumpkin cream cheese muffins.2
