Blew It!

I am so mad at myself. I reached my goal weight last Friday and then have done nothing but cheat since. Now I'm 4 pounds up. It will probably take me months to loose.

Ahh don't be hard on yourself! the good news is that you wont truly have gained those 4lbs, they're most likely water - unless you've had an additional 14000 calories above your maintenance calories in that week.
So time to get a hold of yourself now start eating at maintenance calories, because when we get to goal nothing changes, we just get some extra calories per day.
You got to goal, now you have to keep up the effort to stay there - and its so worth it.15 -
One pound is 3500 calories, times 4 pounds = 14,000 extra calories in a week. Did you really overeat that much or could some of the weight gain be due to sodium, etc.?9

nah, you didn't blow it. get back on tracking and weigh yourself in a week or two. I guarantee you didn't eat that many calories to gain 4 lbs in a week. (unless you are a competitive eater on youtube!)12

You didn't gain 4lbs that quickly unless you were just massively overfeeding. Go back to what you know. Dont make me come over there.....🤨
**edit** SOME regain is normal on a maintenance diet. I think the amount is proportional to the amount lost.12 -

Just a little case history of approximately maintenance over-eating, that you might find interesting:

Your weight naturally fluctuates during maintenance. It is not a set number, but a range. If you overate for a few days, most of it is likely water weight. You can't blow anything in a week. Once you get back on track, you will likely see it all off in a week or two. But you are going to have to get used to the scale fluctuating.

You need to first realize that maintenance is a range...4 Lbs either way is well within normal fluctuations. You also need to do the math...you didn't gain 4 actual Lbs (fat) in that short of time...you're eating more so you're going to retain more water and have more inherent waste in your system.11 -
I gained 4 pounds after reaching goal, but it took me about 6 weeks. So far one pound has already come back off once I got back into my routine of logging, counting calories and exercise. This 4 pounds is within my maintenance range, but I want to shed 2 or 3 of them so I can better enjoy the holidays. Totally do-able!12
