69 years old female...5'5" ...I used to be 5'7" but arthritis hit and I lost two inches, so now that two inches is squished around my waist like the billows of a big accordion... ...Oh, well. I'll just keep working on it.
We used to walk 5 miles a day. A pinched nerve and back surgery side-lined me for about a year. Then I had back surgery. Now I'm waiting to get my hip fixed. Hip Doc said surgery in April. Ugh! I can't do any walking or biking...both kill me. I see my personal trainer three times a week. She is taking it very slow and easy with me.

01/19 188.4 no change is good. I was way over sodium yesterday. Family dinner tonight but I kept portions small. I suspect I’ll stay the same tomorrow.

Wrapping up my break this weekend and moving ahead into a new semester. As much as I’ve enjoyed the time off, I’m excited to meet my students and take on a new set of experiences and challenges.
I’ve been playing around with my calorie allowance lately, starting to transition to a smaller deficit and slower rate of weight loss. I’ll continue to make adjustments as I add to my exercise routine this spring. The key for me is to make small changes that fit my lifestyle and are sustainable long term.

01/18—167.2 Spent 5 days in the hospital with my daughter who labored for 35 hours then delivered via c-section a beautiful, healthy baby girl who is such a miracle and blessing! There was a 2-lb. upturn in my weight during that time, so it’s back to tracking and exercising for me to get going again.

Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and have gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then; I don't want to gain any more, but would like to get back to my goal weight – I'm working at it – it's a permanent way of life !

Today will be a challenge, last “Christmas” celebration of the season, all my large family get together, siblings, respective children and grandchildren, 30+ of us, we hire a church hall and all bring bits of food, you may know it as a Jacobs table or an American supper? 01/18- 213.8 (+1.0lb) Gain from yesterday, but happy with the overall trend. Meal out tonight, which could be testing. Going to have a very light lunch (make sure I go to the gym) so that I can have a decent meal without feeling like I’m restricting myself so much. Won’t drink any alcohol though- it amazes me how much better I feel even though it’s only been 4 weeks since my last drink.
01/19- 213.2lb (-0.6) Stuck to good choices for the meal last night and drank AF beer. Can’t seem to be finding time to go to the gym. In the past when I’ve lost weight I’ve always felt that I must go to the gym and indeed I enjoy it and love the benefits. However, this is the first time I feel that I’m getting a handle on my eating habits and changing for the better, rather than excessively exercising to try and chase poor food choices. Plan today though is to break my gym ‘mini break’, cook all my lunches for the week and get ahead with some work which will enable me to spend more time at the gym.

Feeling uplifted! For a week prior to 1/16, I hadn't lost much weight and was eating more. Between 1/16 and today, I'd eaten foods I'd felt were forbidden and felt shame. Unconsciously, I avoided weighing in, unlike my usual every 2-3 days. But weighing in more often (always morning, in birthday suit) shows me I'm actually maintaining, losing, or even gaining, but probably not as much as I feared.

Note1: First time participant. This challenge's fixed terms and simple format are really appealing. I usually use kg/cm, but I see how lbs really is impactful.
Note2: I fast for 14 hours/day (this includes sleep time). I use the app Zero for tracking fasting time. For anyone wanting to try intermittent fasting, I figured out what an achievable goal was by starting low and increasing to 10hrs, then 12hrs, now 14hrs. That's manageable and acceptable for me. This has led me to eating 2 big meals and 2 or 3 snacks. Using MFP allows me to recognize, like now, when I need to eat and that I when I need to perhaps eat more and adjust my caloric intake.
Note3:I'm frequently 200-300 calories and rarely 400 calories over set calorie limit, but I know that, even so, it is not enough to hinder weight loss.10 -
