Lost 2.2 pounds this week!

If you saw my last post it was about a plateau I was in for the last month. I was 143-144. Ate good all week, increased my work outs with weights, drank more water. Added a snack in my day. Weighed myself I was 143.6 last, today I'm 141.4! I think I may be out of my plateau...hopefully. today was my birthday dinner and I planned my food still but basically made this a cheat day. I ate 1973 calories, I'm supposed to eat 1200 to lose 2 pounds a week. I'm hoping this will just maintain like it says but of course I feel bad I enjoyed myself abit. I didn't go overboard but still lol I'm becoming so obsessed, I know I need to relax. It's just that I'm so close to my goal of 130 I'm anxious.
My plan is tomorrow back to 1200 calories and work out again. Took a break today and this past Thursday. Twice a week I'll rest. Hopefully I'm down 1-2 pounds this week coming too.
Will this be a issue or will it be ok if I'm back on track? I know its 3500 cals per pound but im worried lol

Didn't we discuss that your deficit is way too aggressive for the amount of weight you have to lose?19

Apparently 2-3 pounds a week is fine. Anything over is to aggressive for anyone. As long as I don't go under 1200 calories and I'm not. I'm a actually eating mostly1300-1500 but the work outs I guess is helping.1 -

"Apparently" according to what? A 2-3 pound/week rate of fat loss is not safe for someone who only has 11 pounds to lose.16 -

Who has told you that losing 2-3 pounds a week is fine when you have so little to lose? There are very few within the medical profession who would say it is fine and those that do need to be reeducated.14 -

No. It. Is. Not.
But, if you want to ignore our advice, that's fine. I just won't waste my time clicking on any of your threads now that I know that's the case. More time for helping those that want it

I agree. Advice is good, but think about how you approach others. Before you post read what you wrote and think about whether it is polite and respectful. There is a lot of information out there, some bad and some good. Try not to judge others and make assumptions. Misconceptions are difficult for some people to change.9

I have 79 left to lose, and being in a 1000 cal deficit a day sounds AWFUL I couldn't work out 4 times a week on that. I'd fall apart physically and be an absolute monster.11 -

But..I think if you eat 500 less and then work out to lose 500 cals. It's the same thing as cutting 1000 cals but your eating 500 more? I'm pretty sure you can do it that way too!2 -

No. You're supposed to eat your exercise calories back, or at least the majority of them. That's how MFP is set up. Otherwise, you're under-fueling your workouts and your body, and that won't end anywhere good. Please look up exercise bulimea. It's a thing. A dangerous thing.16 -
Take the following as you will.
Yes, eating 500 and exercising/being active for 500 equals a 1000 deficit.
Yes, it is even arguable, according to some studies, that it is slightly better for you to create a 1000 deficit that way than to straight up reduce 1000 Cal of energy intake.
Generally, generically, most people can tolerate 0.5 to 2lbs deficits without keeling over and dying. As such it is a "safe" rate to throw out there as a consensus number when as generic government/consensus report advice you have to throw out an easy number for Joe SixPack to understand.
And guess what? 0.5 to 2lbs a week is a heck of a lot safer than say Truck Driver Joe's alternative of 20lbs a week because he saw on TV (or the cover of his favorite SuperMarket Tabloid) that his favorite action movie hero lost 80lbs that way before playing his latest role!
Does this consensus number (suitable for the WHOLE POPULATION from Skinnie Minnie to Truck Driver Joe) really sounds as if it is THE SAME for both Skinnie Minnie and Truck Driver Joe and the same under all circumstances from morbidly obese to within the normal weight range?
<With my apologies to any non over-weight rodents who may be offended by the name Skinnie Minnie, and double apologies to hard working truck drivers most of who are actually fairly lithe in my neck of the woods!>
It is just like BMI. The normal RANGE, is a RANGE where people of a certain height who happen to weight somewhere in that range have less health problems than people of the same height whose weight is outside that range. But it does not mean that FOR ANY ONE INDIVIDUAL EVERY SINGLE WEIGHT IN THAT RANGE IS HEALTHY!
For Skinnie Minnie, she might be healthiest at BMI 21.5. Her sister Model Minnie, might be healthiest at BMI 20. And Truck Driver Joe might be healthiest at BMI 24.666. Joe Six Pack may have a six pack at BMI 21; but actually be healthier at BMI 22. But heck... we would not know it!!!
Keep on trucking Skinnie Minnie... but don't try to do it 2lbs at a time.... something that doesn't exceed ~15% of your actual TDEE might be a much smarter way to go!14 -

Sending a hug as I'm in the same category. In the chart it says maximum rate of loss doesn't mean that is what you should aim for. Also recommend eating a % of exercise calories to prevent hangry outbursts and fuel workouts 😁. I can't remember which MFP guru uses the phrase the winner is the person who can eat the most you can while still losing weight. That's a phrase I like to live by I mean why torture yourself at 1200 when your stats might allow something more sustainable in the 1500-1800+ range x8 -
How long have you been eating 1200 calories if you don’t mind me asking?0

It's more like 1200-1600. I can't seem to always stick to it. I unintentionally go over but then work out then I think it equals it out ? I think.it has been 2-3 months at least cause when I was heavier my fitness pal was saying 1500. I feel great no problems

Yes, exactly! her post is coming off as not respectful or polite. Obviously some people are just oblivious but that's ok. Im just trying to make people realize read what they write..they might not mean to sound rude but sure sounds like they are. Either way not hurt by it. I am taking all advice in to consideration and going by my fitnesspal.
I know it may not seem it but those commenting actually want you to lose weight in a healthy and sustainable way. We don't want to see people go down this slippery slope where it is difficult to return from. Personally, I do not want to see you jeopardise your long term health for quick weight loss.
Yes I understand that, I obviously want to lose in a healthy way too. So far I feel great lol

Establishing tone on a message board is a highly flawed endeavor so please read this as me being nothing but matter-of-fact:
One of the dangers of losing weight too fast is that your body has a a threshold at which it will stop using fat to make up for the calorie deficit and start using lean body mass like muscle. If your goal is only to see numbers decline on a scale this will not matter. If your goal is to get into a healthier state and perhaps look a certain this way then losing too fast is counterproductive to your goals.
If you have fat to lose then that should be your only target. Losing muscle and leaving the fat behind in error is bad.
You are ultimately responsible for what you believe and how you manage yourself. The people here are trying to guide you correctly. I would strongly suggest that you take the free guidance with less concern over how you believe it is being delivered.16 -

I've found that 'tone' in a written message here can all too easily be skewed to the negative whenever the person reading it isn't simply getting the affirmation they may have been looking for. The reality, however, is that usually the posts they deem as being negative contain the information they actually need the most.

sure you can do it that way. the cost of that, after while, will be diminished brain function, skin issues, hair loss, and organ failure. why? because your body is not getting the amount of NUTRIENTS it needs for the amount of work you are asking of it.
but you do you, boo. hope you have some REALLY good insurance and therapists lined up, as your perception of what is healthy is terribly skewed.7 -
If you look back, just notice that every one of your posts on this thread has an overwhelming amount of "disagrees"
That should tell you something.
