Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

Successes/Struggles: My Libra Trend line finally went flat. Each week it would go up and down just a bit forming a weird bumpy line. I'm good with it, even if it's much lower than I orginally wanted. Especially since I've been eating whatever and not logging.

Working at home is still great. I'll be doing that until at least May 4th now. Trying to be creative on how to get groceries and keep with with family and friends without actually leaving the house. Still trying to keep up with the dog walks despite Ohio being very rainy currently.

We are close to when we can start planting vegetables and flowers outside. My BF has been out prepping, despite the rainy conditions. It's finally feeling like Spring!

Let's see what this week brings! Hope everyone is hanging in there!

Success of the week: I am still in my maintenance range, and the past two weeks my mass has been trending very stable. I've been getting lots of walks in. I have been eating pretty well. I am staying healthy!

Struggle of the week: I am about to push against the ceiling of my ideal maintenance range. I actually have two; one a ten-pound range (from 140-150) which is goal weight minus three to goal weight plus seven. My ideal range only gives me six pounds of fluctuation and is goal weight minus one pound up to goal weight plus five. Even my average weight this week is goal plus almost four, so I need to still see this as success, and I struggle with that mental part.

A couple of high calorie, high sodium days in a row definitely show up in the numbers. Maintenance perspective means that I'm not worried about it and know that it should disappear in the next 2-3 days (plus I'm still well within range.) I am concerned that I usually don't have consecutive high-calorie days and need to nip this in the bud. I've still been able to run daily while keeping my distance.

I'm in the process of moving out of the house to another property in order to avoid exposing my family in the coming weeks. While this is stressful on a lot of levels, it at least means that for better or worse I'll have complete control over what's in the kitchen. There's no excuse for having treats "for the kids" that provide temptation. I'm glad to have gotten into the habit of multi-day lunch prep for work and need to make sure that I'm packing enough healthy snacks to get through longer shifts.

    Hang in there, everyone!

I think the "challenges" section will be blocked out as COVID related for the next few months! Don't have the actual disease, but obviously the entire world is adjusting to the new normal. Probably the biggest impact so far on my health is that my teen daughter has decided that without the structure of school she can stay up all night and sleep all day... but this disturbs the sleep of those who are trying to sleep at night (me!). I am a light sleeper, so having someone moving around in the middle of the night means I am struggling to get good sleep and it is hugely affecting my energy levels.

On the successes side, I am still eating, exercising, and fasting well.

Success/Struggles: I never got a chance to post yesterday, but everything is going ok. My weight is pretty steady. Daily weights are up and down but trend is staying very steady. I'm trying not to be too stressed about the virus, but it's hard. We had our first confirmed case here in my small town and it was someone we know and who my husband sees regularly at his work. But he's been in isolation for almost 3 weeks and is already feeling better.

My weight has been really stable over the last two weeks. It dropped to 50.1 yesterday but prior to that it was 50.5 for 9 days in a row! I was beginning to think there was a problem with the scales.

Successes: I’m getting lots of exercise – cycling in the countryside up the hill behind my house, walking round my garden, aerobics in my living room.
Struggles: Like a large proportion of the world population I’m struggling with the isolation. However, my children are really good at posting pictures of the grandchildren, and I’m in more contact with my sisters than usual. And I do have a cat for company.

Stay safe, we will get through this. As our Queen said in her broadcast yesterday evening “we will meet again”.

All good. Maintaining!!! with much more ease than in the past. It took me a year to actually figure out I can eat much more than I thought. It was “masked” by inaccurate calorie counts when I ate out. Now I have the TDEE info etc. that I need.

    Struggles.
Had to eliminate stocking one food, but am managing the rest. I never forget my old way of eating can return effortlessly. Glad I took action. Glad I have motivation & have built good habits.

Let's see what this week brings! Hope everyone is hanging in there!

Success of the week: I have been getting in at least a 5K walk almost every day. I got a lot of weeding done in the garden. I've been eating tasty food. I am staying healthy!

Struggle of the week: I am over the top of my ideal maintenance range by scale and weekly average. By ten-day average, I'm just at the top. According to TrendWeight, I'm not quite there yet, and I'd like to believe that, but... I actually have another goal range that's the absolute, and at least I'm still not over that. If this keeps up (no pun intended), I may soon not be able to claim I'm still maintaining.

    Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week:
I would like to lose that lb. It isn't just water or anything. I'm convinced it is real weight. Not a lot but I don't like it. I had several days that I was under calories by a couple of hundred. My body likes to stick when it hits a spot which makes maintaining easier but not losing. But also even though I am trying to do the same amount of exercise that I did before the lockdown, I really don't. Things to consider.

The new scale I'm using seems to correlate with the scale at home; at the very least, it's not underestimating. I'm still working on a routine while I'm isolating myself away from my family. I miss walking to work, but have been trying to make up for it in other ways and have stayed above 20K steps a day. I've found a near-ish park to run in, and at least haven't fallen into any major bad habits while being on my own. The kitchen is filled with lots of healthy stuff, though I couldn't resist some discounted holiday candy to blow my banked calories on.

    Hang in there, everyone!

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: A little bit of a bump up in my weight due to TOM. I also ordered some Indian food for takeout this week which might have contributed. I've decided to increase my daily step goal a bit since I've only been getting in the minimum daily step goal each week and my weekly step total has been 8-10k steps lower than usual as a result. It is hard to just walk around in circles all day, but I've been trying to incorporate more walking in while working (taking breaks every so often to walk around for a few minutes, walking around when on conference calls, etc.) to break up the monotony.

Success of the week: My average weight isn't up from last week! I took the canoe over to the river on Friday afternoon and knelt for three hours, but paddled less than three miles up and down the bank where I fish. It almost wasn't any fun. The fish wouldn't leave me alone. I think I put 15 in the net. Most were two or three pounds, but a couple were bigger.

Struggle of the week: I am STILL over the top of my ideal maintenance range by scale, by weekly average, and by ten-day average. According to TrendWeight, I'm still gaining, but just BARELY over the top of my ideal maintenance range. My ideal range is six pounds, and I have a ten-pound range that I also keep in mind, and at least I'm still in that range. I'm still at a "normal" BMI (24), as well as a "healthy" Smart BMI (35). In fact, the Smart BMI has me smack in the middle of the ideal range. These are good metrics, too, so I should feel ok about it. I thought about adjusting my goal, as it's said at the top of this weekly post since the beginning that I'm not sure it's the right goal range. I fear if I increase my goal range, I might pop over the top of that and keep going, so I'll leave it where it is for now. I'll still consider myself in maintenance. Let's see what this week brings.

    Stay safe!
