    Invented the finger splint in 1608 as the result of a mishap during a bar crawl. While exiting the pub near Kings Cross, his best mate, Fred, unintentionally stepped on his finger crushing it; with several more pubs to go, @syedaounabbas bound is damaged digit to the broken handle of a beer mug with twine, thus inventing the splint.
