Iowan 40 looking for info and ideas for motivation

Hi all! I'm a nurse in all this craziness. Families and kind people bake us stuff all the time in thanks. I've been on a upward trend for awhile. I need more discipline and motivation to stay away from the sugar and carbs. Can someone explain macros to me and the right percentages? And then if you've got that figured out, you got any ideas for good easy recipes?

I think macros pretty much refer to proteins, fats, and carbs. Counting macros entails keeping track of the calories and types of foods you eat in order to achieve certain macronutrient and calorie goals.
