You’ve found a great app and community to improve or maintain your health and fitness. Whatever you’re goals are, there is a place for you here.
In the blog there is a great entry called Essential Guide to MyFitnessPal. Read that one, it gives instructions on the app.
At a high level, the app has three components:
Tracking — food, exercise, progress. The food library is vast and you’ll find nearly everything you eat. It is important to track what you eat.
Articles — in the blog section. Find recipes, inspiration, workout guides, fitness information, etc.
Community — a place to ask questions, find friends, join a group.
We are all here to support each other.

Almost all of us did not understand how to use MFP when we started. Accumulate some MFP friends. Interact with them by reading their posts & asking questions. Note what they eat & how successful they are. Log every food you eat & learn their nutritional values. We can do this!1
