Hey all, trying to cut a bit to lose the pandemic 10ish lbs I gained. I treated myself to a Fitbit and just realized there's a food tracker on there. I don't feel like double counting my calories- anyone have an opinion on the Fitbit food tracker?

If you're already using MFP for logging your food and are happy with it, I wouldn't change to using Fitbit's tracker.
I've linked my fitbit to MFP and log all my food here. I think a lot of people do that because the database is a lot bigger on MFP. Also, I had a lot of recipes and frequently logged food all set up on here already so it made sense to continue with MFP for food logging and just use fitbit for everything else.6 -
The mfp food database is a zillion times more comprehensive than the Fitbit one.
You can sync your Fitbit to your mfp account - which allows you to use the mfp database and get the activity calorie burn estimates info from Fitbit.5 -
Third vote for logging food on MFP and linking the accounts. MFP is quick, easy and comprehensive, and your calories and macros sync over to Fitbit for easy intake vs burn comparisons and all the other cool graphs Fitbit provides.5

Oh cool, that's good to know. Thanks everyone! I'll stick with MFP for tracking2

ive had a fitbit and used mfp for 8 years now. the only thing i use the fitbit for is activity/calorie burn. any calories from workouts i log, i edit the amount of burned calories to 1 so it doesnt double count them. i do think theres a setting where you can have the same effect, but its just how ive done it for years and it works for me.0
