Today was sort of a rest day. I am going to sell one of my bicycles I worked on it. Replaced handle bar tape myself. Cleaned still needs work.
I also have a very elderly dog. Wasn’t a good day for him.

Summary for July:
41 hours of riding, 639 miles / 1,027 km, 7,626m of climbing to hit my climbing challenge.
Speed has increased and estimated VO2 max at a new peak, climbing stronger. New saddle has been a success.
Managed to get in three drives rides. One just to concentrate on hill training with fresh legs and one to target a PR on a beautiful 20 mile Strava segment.
Third one of sixty miles exploring the lovely Chiltern Hills didn't go well thanks to copying a poorly plotted route which totally confused my Garmin. Took me off course into a remote area and Garmin couldn't navigate back or forwards - when you get to a crossroads in the middle of nowhere and trying all four routes including the one you came from results in the instruction "U-turn" you know you have a problem!
Whoever designed the route also clearly likes gravel and extreme hills - spent far too long on single track roads that were barely the width of a car, covered in gravel and infested with potholes. Far more suited to a MTB than a roadbike.
One of those tracks was also a 20% descent where I struggled to keep the speed down, wheels vaguely inline and with very restricted vision so you couldn't let the bike run either, I clenched a bit....
Also saw a 21% gradient on one long climb that almost defeated me.
Shame I didn't get to see more of the views of the countryside like this so I'll plot my own route next time I go there.

I just caught up to this thread - great riding everyone!
Didn't have much time for looking in here in the past week. And sadly, not a singe ride "just for cycling" for me. But with 8 commutes and 1 ride to the post office, I managed to accumulate 209.5km for July, not too bad all things considered.
