I'm with you on those! I have found myself enjoying the sugar free flavors!

I like heavy cream, personally (a little bit goes a long way) and the DaVinci sugar free syrups are fantastic. I use them for coffee, italian sodas, etc.

That's when I'm not guzzling it black like a fiend, though.

Coffee is "my non-negotiable" item. I do not use sugar but I use regular or lowfat half and half (not fat free-tastes nasty to me). I have 3 cups per day and work around that---the rest of the day all of my beverages are zero calorie--thats unsweetened hot or iced tea or water. Enjoy your coffee but makes slight adjustment you can live with. Good luck.

I was addicted to Starbucks cafe mocha. Then I switched to skim chai lattes. Now it's homeade coffee with ovaltine and skim milk. Thank God for my Kuerig. Saves money and calories

Just use your sugar and creamers. Don't force yourself to eat and drink things you don't enjoy. Track your macros and calories, sugar is a carb. Stay in deficit and keep it moving. I use 2 sugars and cream in my coffee every day, doesn't hinder my progress.

In before a diabetic states how bad sugar is for diabetics. Remember OP, mentioned nothing about diabetes.

I never stopped using my creamer in my coffee, but I only have one cup a day, so I guess it's not too bad.
  • I use a sugar-free non-dairy powdered creamer from Kroger along with 2 packets of sweet 'n' low. Anything past first cup that is flavored with skim milk and sweet n low.

    Coffee is the greatest beverage.
A growing body of research shows that coffee drinkers, compared to nondrinkers, are:
less likely to have type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease, and dementia
have fewer cases of certain cancers, heart rhythm problems, and strokes

The benefits outweigh any potential dangers of a little caffeine for me, especially since parkinson's runs in my family.

Another benefit - my husband and coworkers are still living, right?

A little dab of coconut oil in coffee is surprisingly good. But the person who said marshmallows could be an evil genius. Next time I come across a bag of marshmallows I can eat, I'm giving that a try.
  • I have to have coffee. Mentally & physically.

From the sound of it you have to have cream and sugar.
I guess you don't actually like coffee if you have to destroy it with cream and sugar.
    Maybe try caffeine pills.

Just because we add cream and sugar to our coffee doesn't mean that we don't like coffee....to us we find that it enhances the flavor profile of the coffee.
  • The way I drink my coffee is with stevia in the raw NATURAL ZERO calorie sweetener!) with fat free 1/2 & 1/2. Good Luck =)

    Thank you. :)
  • Tried flavored coffee as someone had suggested. Hating it. Also tried fat free half and half and it was a no go. Think I will stick with my naughty creamer...perhaps ween myself down to one naughty cup. :) so grateful for all the responses. Thank y'all.
  • I have to have coffee. Mentally & physically. Perhaps I can eventually give it up, but for now it stays. I was wondering what some of y'all use to sweeten your coffee. My fat free hazelnut creamer blows me out of the water on sugars...... I like cream & sugar because I like my coffee very strong. Please & thank you. :drinker:
I read this and I love the woman's site for some of the recipes, no clue about the calories or grams of sugar in this though. http://deliciouslyorganic.net/homemade-coffee-creamer/

I use organic half n half via this site (has ingredients/stats on it) http://www.organicvalley.coop/products/milk/half-and-half/
For sweetner I use either maple syrup - usually just a teaspoon most of the measurements online have the calorie/grams of sugar set for a tablespoon, or you could try raw honey. Comparison on the two, (I can't vouch for accuracy on any of these links) http://healthyeating.sfgate.com/nutrition-pure-maple-syrup-vs-honey-1756.html
You'd probably notice the maple syrup more if you like it very dark (I like it that was as well) the raw honey takes more for it to be sweeter tasting, at least for my taste buds yours might be different.

My dentist recommends xylitol - Mentioning it here but letting you know I hated it, and it caused my stomach to become upset.
