Big lunch

I just ate a huge lunch, and now am feeling bad that i didn’t save more calories for dinner and my after dinner snack. Can you help me set my thinking straight and just move on?

    Log it and move on.

I don't look at one day of calories but about one week, so if I go over one day I balance it out the other days. Or sometimes I don't and my deficit is a bit less that week, no big deal.

But in your case you can eat a normal dinner and just start fresh the next day.

    Yup! Excellent advice :)

I kinda think you did it right there. If you get in the habit of a quick recovery, you’ll have more chance of success.

A light sandwich, a large salad, or a bowl of soup makes a nice simple low cal meal.

Eat it, move on, and reorient yourself for the next day.

If your lunch was really huge will you really be hungry for dinner? I wouldn’t be!

Personally, I’d just skip dinner. 🤷‍♀️

When I have a big lunch, I'm typically not as hungry at dinner. So I'll usually have something light for dinner - for me that would be vegetable broth with some chopped vegetables or maybe an open-faced sandwich or some roasted vegetables. But if I found that I was still really hungry at dinner, I probably wouldn't deprive myself.

I would just eat, be over, log it and move on

Pretty good chance that someday in the future you're going to have a day you don't feel like eating and be under, everything balances out in the long run if you just carry on.
