We ALL have good rounds and bad but that is part of life. Don’t stay away, stay accountable. We don’t judge, we support.-Jpv,2/13/19
What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.
This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

8/25 116.5 I got sidetracked reading this morning. My husband was in a fender bender yesterday morning and as a result, I cancelled my PT so I stopped reading here and just did my home exercises. DH and car are not severely damaged. I am noticing SUCH a difference from the therapy exercises that I WANT to go back to the gym! WOW! You have NO IDEA how huge that is for me! The cat does NOT like me using HIS floor to do home exercises!
8/26 117.0
8/27 116.5 LOL Just noticed the typo in the post I made this morning. Of course my buds are “seeing” it makes SEWING so much easier!! Ate lunch at the New Mexican restaurant yesterday. I ate soooo many carbs! But it was SOOOO GOOD! Totally worth it, I have half leftover for lunch at “sew day.” I had an amazing day with my gal pals!
8/28 116.0 Tomorrow we’re going out of town all day to visit my college BFF. She and her SO and 2 cats have become full timers in an RV. He makes homemade pasta but they are aware of my WOE so it could be interesting!
8/29 117.0 McD’s breakfast on the road, Will’s meatloaf, mashed potatoes and salad
8/30 117.5 A picture from the place Marge and I went yesterday while Will took Carl to Delamar.
8/31 116.5 Great Greek yesterday for my OMAD. One of favorite “fall backs” when nothing sounds good to eat. I can’t believe I didn’t post yesterday!
9/1 117.0 Dinner plans changed and dinner was very late for us. We usually eat by 4 but went to friends and it was between 7 and 7:30.
9/2 116.5 Steak, slaw and homemade keto ice cream yesterday to wrap up the inadvertent 23.5 hour “fast.” I had had protein in my morning coffee so I would not be taking the antibiotic on an empty stomach- 14g of protein, 36 calories. Ketones were up to 1.1 this morning (that’s good) which is nice since they had been hovering around 0.6-0.7 thanks to carbs.8 -

▪8/27- 200? (We•11:30am 7:30pm~15.5hrs) 82g carbs. 20lbs and many slices of bread ago, LOL. I need to cut it out before I can't fit my clothes. On a much brighter note, has anyone noticed the magnificence of the clouds daily for the last month? When I watch them, I always think of
Luke 21:27~
"And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory."
I can just imagine it will be those majestic clouds.
▪8/28- (Th•12:30, 8pm~17hrs) 117g carbs.
▪8/29- (Fr•4pm, 8pm~20hrs) 65g carbs.
▪8/30- 195.7-😐 Well, I don't need new batteries in my scale. Can't get too happy though, still need to stop eating bread. (Sa•1pm, 7pm~17hrs) 61g carbs.

@Tesha123, Thank you❤ for your suggestions on cutting out the bread. Galette sounds good! What I need to do is just stop eating it all together. I should not eat wheat or grains. Even though bread tastes good to me, after 2 years on keto, it really doesn't. I eat it because it's in front of me and convenient to eat when I'm hungry. I still don't crave it. I need to get back to my keto way of eating.7

Back in for 2nd round since coming back. Goals are to get under 165.0 and be there for at least 5 out of the 10 weigh ins. Also drink more water and stay away from fast food. We will see how it goes. Ended last round at 169.0
08/25 - 168.3 down a little bit from yesterday, so I will take it. Brought my lunch and breakfast to work this morning, so no excuses to grab lunch out today. Did great until I got home last night and we decided to make steak fajitas for dinner. Probably had a little more guacamole and chips then I should have, but I will keep working at it.
08/26 - 167.4 At least it is continuing to go down. Really wanted to be lower this morning, but I guess I will be happy with where I am. Brought my lunch and breakfast to work again this morning, so no excuses to eat out. Dinners still aren't great, but I am really looking to get under 165 at this point. I can't believe I gained 30 pounds in 7 months. It will probably take me 18 months to lose it, lol.
08/27 - 166.4 Met all my goals yesterday and even turned down McDonald's for dinner. The hubby and I went four wheeling in the mountains with our new Jeep and then decided to pick dinner up. Guess where the kids wanted to eat? Everybody ordered food, but I decided to go home and eat left overs from the night before. I did eat a couple of fries off the kids plates, but way better than it could have been. Getting closer to my goal, so we will see how the rest of the week plays out. All 3 meals are planned for today already so we should be good on that front.
08/28 - 166.4 Fridays use to be my official weigh-in day, but I will start that next week. Stuck to my plan yesterday, probably had a little to much soy sauce on my rice for dinner, but only had a small portion and didn't go back for seconds even though I could have. First full week back on track and I am ok with where I am at this point. Last time I was super strict and over did it. This time if it takes me a little longer I am ok with that. I want to be able to sustain instead of feeling restricted.
08/29 - 163.1 Nice! I did an unintentional 24 hr fast yesterday so I am expecting a bounce up tomorrow, but a happy today. I was slammed at work all day and realized I hadn't eaten anything around 3. I get off at 4 so there was no reason to eat my lunch at that point. So I waited until I got home. I then found out that DH had eaten lunch at 4 because he was slammed and had some errands for us to run. So we didn't get home till well after 8. I just went to bed at that point as I was exhausted from the week and did not feel like cooking.
08/30 - 165.8 I figured that this would happen. Ate normal yesterday, but not some of the best food choices. We went 4 wheeling in the new Jeep again (my husband is obsessed) with both of our girls and then stopped off at a local burger place to eat lunch. I tried to stay away from the fries, but did have a couple. Then had a light dinner of cheesy potato skins, probably not my best option, but it's what I went with.
08/31 - 164.2 Had to go up to my MIL house and do some work. She made breakfast burritos (egg, potato & green chile) for us around 11. We got back home at 5 and neither one of us were hungry. My husband had multiple cookies with milk and I had a big glass of water and a pickle. I am hoping I am lower tomorrow. I am sure the salt from the pickle added to my weigh in this am. If I can end the round at 163.xx I will be happy. That means I would have lost 6 pounds my round fully back. I know the next round won;t be as good or as much, but I will be happy with this one.
09/01 - 165.0 a little bummed I had a small uptick, but maybe it's because of the carbs I had yesterday. I stayed under my goal, but it was more than usual. To make my goal I have to get back under 165.0 and stay there the next 2 days. Still hoping to get back down and end this round at 163.xx. Went to the store and stocked my fridge at work up with salad, veggies, and breakfast stuff. Leaving no reason for me to eat out.
09/02 - 163.6 I am happy with this. Stuck to my plans yesterday and on track so far today. Looking for a good number to end the round tomorrow. Having some work done on my teeth Friday afternoon, so the weekend should be easy for me to navigate through. Can't have any alcohol or really eat for 48 hours afterwards.

@tiabirdie56 Happy birthday! Hope you have an amazing day!5

Hi friends, so glad this thread is always here when I can get my act together.
Goals this round, to lose 1 pound.
Day/Weight/Comment
08/25 193.4 estimated total calories: 1505
08/26 193.4 I have to take a break from running due to stupid plantar faciitis which is super depressing. BUT I'm doing a 30 day no alcohol challenge and I'm interested to see if that makes it easier to lose. So far I miss my glass of wine while cooking but some days are easier than others. I am going to try to get back into lifting at the gym since I can't run, I tried the elliptical on Monday but foot hurt for two days after so probably gonna give that one some more time still. Calorie goal: 1400
08/27 194.0 well the scale was up today, but my BF % was down so that means there's a little water weight hanging around . I'm still on a downward trend and getting ready for TOM so a momentary blip is expected. Still sleeping in the dreaded night splint, I had less foot pain today so maybe I can hit the gym tomorrow and avoid a flare up. Calories were over yesterday by 400 due to chocolate snack after dinner, did I mention TOM? Upping the water today.
08/28 193.2 drinking my water, still giving my foot a break from any stress. I don't have a plan for dinner tonight which isn't good, bc that means I want to stand in the pantry and eat snack (not helpful, I know! ) better come up with one before I get too hungry!
08/29 192.4 I felt very happy to see this number on the scale after many days higher. Let's hope it sticks around and isn't destroyed by my salty lunch today, bc I'm on track to stay around 1200 calories - missed breakfast (accidentally), split chicken fajitas with a friend and brought leftovers home for the hubs, and just a little yogurt with fruit for dinner.
08/30 192.0 haven't been here since early July so this seems great progress. hoping for another little drop tomorrow! total calories today 1224
08/31 191.8 looks good to me.
09/01 191.8 stayed close to my calorie target again today but a bit short on water.
09/02 192.0 again, lets hope it sticks or goes lower so I can finish the round strong! I ordered a vegan cookbook yesterday, I'm trying to get some new healthy (supposedly this one does not use processed ingredients) recipes that are vegetable based. Good reviews on Amazon and all the meals are 250-400 calories. It's called Appetite for Reduction.. hopefully it will spice things up a bit!

8/25: 227.6 (+0.4)/19.3 (0.0). Alright. I need to get this under control. I talked with my wife last night and asked that she stop accepting "outside food," particularly from her family. My sister-in-law visited on Sunday, and my in-laws sent chile rellenos with her. She also brought banana bread that she made from scratch. I love my wife's family, but them inundating me with food just throws me off. It's like they communicate love with food. I drew my line in the sand with my; I NEED to be in control of MY food. When I'm not in control of my food, something happens inside of me. I have been REALLY disciplined since I've been back, and I have been REALLY happy with the progress I have made in such a short time. But when I feel "forced" to do something different, particularly when it's multiple times in a week, it sends me down the road of "losing my mojo." I'm not going to let that happen; if that means me throwing away food that we have been "given," so be it. My health has to be more important than whether or not I eat something that someone gives to me unannounced. I guess what I'm getting at is that it would be easier for me if "people" were just told that I am really focusing on my health right now, and that I do NOT want ANYONE to give me ANYTHING. I COULD do that... but my wife doesn't want me to (for various reasons... mostly worried that she's going to hurt someone else's feelings). She would need to be the person that communicates this information to her family, but she's either reluctant or unwilling to do so. I have got to figure this out, because I like what's happening with me since I returned to this group. I want to continue my good habits. I'm going to go home tonight and do strength training; my body is still a little sore from what I did a few days ago, but I am going to "suck it up" and work through it tonight.
8/26: 226.4 (-1.2)/19.2 (-0.1). It feels really good to be back on the right track. I snacked a little bit too much last night (healthy snacks, though), but I generally had a pretty good day. My back is hurting a little bit, but I'm still going to try to do strength training today (I was still too sore yesterday); I'll just take it easy. My brother-in-law and his girlfriend are coming over to watch the Laker game tonight. I will NOT be having alcohol. I need to talk with my wife about food, and what we're planning in that regard. BEFORE they get here.
8/27: 226.0 (-0.4)/19.2 (0.0). It's amazing how long it takes to completely shake a bad habit, even one that only recently developed. As I say this, I have to acknowledge that my previous sentence is nonsense. Since July 18th, I have worked really hard to eliminate some long-term bad habits (particularly in the evening-snack department) that have made keeping a decent waistline absolute hell. What I have been experiencing in the past few days is not some brand-new bad habit; it's a resurgence of something that is all-too-familiar. I think it's important that I remember that. I also need to keep in mind that I am in no way giving up, and I am making progress. I still haven't worked out since earlier this week; my back was really hurting yesterday. That being said, I'm going to give it another shot today. Wish me luck!
8/28: 226.2 (+0.2)/19.2 (0.0). Cashews. Must stop eating cashews. At least I need to weigh something out and LEAVE IT AT THAT. I have a problem. It's not just sweets. Trying to squeeze in a post during a REALLY busy day. Sorry it's so short.
8/29: 224.8 (-1.4)/19.1 (-0.1). I finally got a bit of a handle on snacking yesterday. For some reason, when it's cashews, I just inhale them. It goes so fast. I had a few cashews yesterday (six I think), but I found something else to snack on that I was able to control a bit better. Despite my previous setback(s), I still think I'm doing great. I am WAY into seeing my trendline, but I still really like seeing a good weigh-in. This morning was satisfying. I'm 0.2 away from my recent low. THAT being said, my brother-in-law and his girlfriend are coming over today, and my parents are coming over tomorrow, so it's going to take some serious planning to get out of this weekend anywhere near the weight I have today. Honestly, if I'm at 226.0 on Monday morning, I'll consider the weekend a pretty rousing success. I'm going to lift weights this morning, and I'll do some rowing machine tomorrow morning. That should offset some of the badness I'll be doing to myself this weekend.
8/30: 226.6 (+1.8)/19.2 (+0.1). This is not unexpected. I had a nice cheat meal last night, and this is what happens the day after. I was pretty good with alcohol (two drinks or so). It could have been worse...? I'm going to do some strength training right now. I need to stay on-track as much as possible. My wife's birthday is 9/3. Is it weird that I'm happy that her birthday falls on the last day of a challenge?
8/31: 227.2 (+0.6)/19.3 (+0.1).
9/1: 226.4 (-0.8)/19.2 (-0.1). Sorry about missing posts for the past two days. I have been SUPER busy at work (9 clients today), but I'm still weighing in, and I'm still fully committed to this group.
9/2: 226.2 (-0.2)/19.2 (0.0). So I've had really one day in a row of eating completely right. I've been so spoiled so far since I've come back to this group that I pretty much expect that any day that I'm "good" I will have a great weigh-in the next morning. I KNOW that this is generally not the way that it works. What I DO know is that I generally see changes in weight 2-3 days after I have consistently been performing well. As I continue to lose weight, this is generally the pattern that it's going to take. I'm okay with that. My recent plateau is also a wake-up call regarding exercise. I've been doing it a bit, but I really need to pick up the pace. I'm going to dust off the rowing machine tonight.

Goal for this round is to stay focused for the whole 10 days, stick to what I know, and hopefully see the numbers drop!
08/25 - 79.1kg, I've started CICO again since Sunday and feeling good!
08/26 - 78.5kg, I'm seeing a lot of dropping very quickly but I feel like it'll creep up a little or plateau very soon. Likely losing a lot of water weight but it feels good regardless!
08/27 - 78.4kg, happy to still see a decrease. I've been sticking to my calorie limits but probably not drinking as much water as I should
08/28 - 78.5kg, as expected the initial water weight probably fell off and now balancing out. Staying strong!
08/29 - didn't weigh as I had a night away from home. Didn't count calories on 28th or today
08/30 - 79.4kg, didn't count Friday/Saturday so I'm not surprised, also low water intake and a bit of alcohol so everything is out of whack. Back to it today, hopefully see a better number tomorrow
08/31 - 79.2kg, I tried my best to count yesterday but went to a restaurant for lunch/dinner so couldn't be totally accurate-good to see a drop anyway! Happy Monday
09/01 - didn't weigh today
09/02 - didn't weigh again, I've gone a bit off track with calories and weighing. Will weigh tomorrow !!
09/03 - 78.7kg, I'm back for the final day of this round and ready for next round!!4 -
If there is a link to the next round, can someone please post it?

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

08/25 133 – 8.64 miles walked yesterday, chocolate got the better of me last night (sigh!). DGS back in theatre for liver biopsy today, bloodwork figures indicate possible rejection, biopsy will confirm/deny, if it is rejecting they can prescribe additional drugs to reverse, keeping fingers and everything else crossed.
08/26 132.4 – Walking non existent! Storm Francis forced me back home, I don't like walking in the rain and with blustery gusting wind it was even worse, that together with lunch out with my sisters meant that I was 386 calories, 23g carbs & 42g fat over. DGS is well in himself, awaiting liver biopsy results, hopefully today.
08/27 131.8 - 10.2 miles walked yesterday, 48 calories in credit, but 37g carbs & 10g fat over. But more importantly, DGS liver biopsy results showed that there is no signs of rejection – hurray !!
08/28. 132.2 - 4.29 miles walked yesterday, 142 calories in credit, 11g carbs over. Best news - DGS discharged from hospital yesterday 👏👏👏👏👏. Still long way to go, weekly hospital appts etc, but such a big step 😁.
08/29. 133.6 - 4 miles walked yesterday. 180 calories, 10g carbs & 8g fat over, I celebrated yesterday!!
08/30 133.6 - 12.86 miles walked yesterday, 750 calories in credit.
08/31 133.6 - 10 miles walked yesterday, 597 calories in credit, all macros in green.
09/01 133 - 12.8 miles walked yesterday. 882 calories in credit & all macros in green
09/02. 133 - 8.21 miles yesterday. 606 calories in credit & àll macros in green. I disappeared for a couple of days; we are away for a long weekend in our caravan on the side of the River Thames & my phone died, had to borrow DH's just to log food!

Day/Weight/Comment
25/8 128.5kg
Still a bit unwell, so no walking yet. I'm finding it easier not to snack in the evenings, which makes staying under my limit much easier.
26/8 128.2kg
Wanting to eat my feelings today. Instead I watched bad tv and sat with them. Hopefully I will feel a bit less overwhelmed tomorrow.
27/8 127.8kg
Finally got out of the house today, I haven't been out since Wednesday last week. Still really stressed.
28/8 128.4kg
A big bounce today. Our tap water is brown today, so takeaway for dinner. Still trying for higher protein choices, and only had half the mashed potato.
29/8 128.0kg
Nice to see that the bounce was short lived. Went swimming with the kids this morning, which was awesome. The pool had been closed since March, and I had definitely been missing it.
30/8 127.9kg
Today, after 3 weeks and 1 day, my trend hit my "in 5 weeks" goal that I got on the first day. I am also feeling all the muscles that I haven't used in months while the pool was closed. I will try to get back there tomorrow.
31/8 127.6kg
Got back to the pool today. It was a bit interrupted, but it is really nice to be back. Overdid the carbs a bit at dinner.
1/9 127.5kg <-- Yay, goals
My legs are so stiff today. Hopefully it will shake out as I get used to going back to the pool regularly. I still need to find out a way of dealing with my stress, as it isn't healthy.
2/9 127.4kg
Today was a constant struggle to make good choices. Eating out, with limited choices. I tried to make the best of it, but I am feeling sluggish tonight.
3/9 127.6kg
Yesteday I drunk way more water than usual, so I am not surprised at the bump. Just sad that it happened on the last day of the round.
Total loss this round: 0.9kg5 -
