Amateur Keto

In the past 5 years I put on 40 pounds. I'm pretty over being overweight. I can't say I've tried everything, but I can say I have "half tried" everything. And, guess what? Half trying hasn't worked!! I am committed to my end of the year goals, and experimenting with the keto lifestyle. What has been your experience with keto?

I dont do keto specifically but I do cut carbs drastically and watch calories...and i have to say its given me the most results even over crazy amounts of running and low calories1

why someone disagree with this, idk
i’ve been off an on keto for 5 years now, it was a treatment for a neurological disease i had that is now in remission. one of the best ways to keep it in remission is to stay on keto, but it’s difficult and messes with my body in other ways (lots of weird cramping in hands and legs from mineral absorption issues, need for vitamin supplements no matter how careful i am to get it just right, and prolly worse is sometimes it makes my heart rate *kitten* up more than usual bc keto not so great for people with certain heart issues).
and then its just really hard to sustain for a long time, the 70/25/5 macro thing. low carb isnt as strict and a lot of people do good on that, but like willingly putting yourself into ketosis for a long time is pretty big deal and might not be necessary, just sayin

I completely agree with you!! I don't think Keto is the best decision long term, and it must be hard to have been on this diet for 5 years. I definitely commend you for it!! Keto is beyond drastic from me, because I do not like meat. However, I was a vegan junkie and not getting anywhere. I love to indulge and I need something to be strict and something I don't necessary like. I hope you continue getting the results that Keto provides for you!! You are a warrior!2 -

My goal is to stick to this Keto lifestyle for 6 months. I am hoping that with my nutritional changes and my workouts I can get where I want to be. However, once 6 months pass I will transition to what you are doing. I think that makes more sense for long term. Frankly, I been dreaming about salads lol! six months will come and go...1
