You need to be in a deficit long enough for your body to start burning it. It's quite difficult depending on the person.

Visceral fat is lost best through exercise interestingly... losing weight over all helps though. Or so I read a year or two ago.

Visceral fat is lost when you lose wt and BF in the process.

Exercise is not essential to losing BF but can help when it increases your cal deficit which contributes to the burning of excess fat.

The only comnercially available method to measure VAT is DEXA and I gave vern able to reduce my VAT to near nil at only 0 06# and 1.61 cu in at about 12% BF

Reducing VAT was not my goal but it happened naturally in the course of losing wt and BF.
