We now have enough stamps for all our Christmas cards and for the whole of next year! I ordered 36 2nd class with my supermarket delivery, I wasn't allowed more. I will probably get through most of those. Then this afternoon I asked the newsagents if he had any and he did, so I bought 24 2nd and 12 1st class. :D DH sends some cards, so he will get through some. I ordered my cards back in September. Christmas beach huts. B)

I'm also well stocked up with painkillers now. Ibuprofen seems to work on this pain, but I can only take them with food.

I don't want a TV family either. :o:# I find being with others very wearing after an hour or so. DH and I are just fine. <3

This covid hasn't affected me much. I miss my singing most, a bit my dancing, but I can’t dance at the moment anyway. I would like a lunch out now and then. Otherwise we carry on as normal, exercising a lot, writing, reading and watching TV. Communicating by phone and Zoom. Studying my three languages. :D Cooking.
We are Zooming the kids this weekend and hope to see them outside when we enter Tier 2 next week. Perhaps walk home from school through the park.
I can see the light at the end of the tunnel now.

Katla thank you for the compliment. I love those clunky heel booties but wish I had worn my dress booties that would have looked classier. They also have a 3" heel, but more of a dressy cowgirl style with sharper toes and classic tapered heel. They look like suede but are actually a stretch fabric. Also, I couldn't find my shorter dress jacket that helps shorten my torso.

Barbara Yes, my timing was bad on the bank visit. I was looking so forward to reciting my favorite bank quote paraphrasing Baby Face Nelson, "Jesus saves, Fae withdraws."

SuziQ I "chickened" out on the Cornish hens. I just chopped up grilled chicken breast tenderloins and cooked them briefly in Cream of Mushroom soup, made my quick Stovetop dressing, and spun a can of jellied cranberry on the delidder machine, and plopped out a cylindrical gob of cranberry and that was it until the doorbell rang and one of my "fake" grandnieces had brought me a slice of her chocolate and a slice of her pumpkin pie. I devoured both slices in short order. I once auditioned for a cooking show, I called my show, I HATE TO COOK BUT I LOVE TO EAT. They agreed that I had an original idea for a show, but rejected me promptly. It was all about word games and semantics.

Allie Thanks for the updates and excited to see where your new less stressful life leads you.

Katie Thinking about you yesterday trying to find my crop dress jacket that accents my waist and shortens my torso. I must have given it away in one of my operations downsize. It was perfect with a high waist pencil skirt.

M in Oz Glad you still have restaurants open for your Grad and Christman dinner. I don't look for any to open around here for many months. Take out only.

Kate I agree with your assessment and it looks like things will get worse everywhere during the next months. Unproven and unscientific is correct.

Tracey My choice would be Little House on the Prarie, but I am afraid that I would be sent to live with Married with Children because of my wardrobe choices. Kelly Bundy does need my guidance on how to wear crop tops and short skirts with class.

Beth - it seems to me that over the years the Macy parade has turned into more of a "show "than a parade. You're right about the people not being there

Lynette - my father was the messiness cook on the face of the earth. I remember one time I had to even clean the floor,! But he was a very very good cook.

Tracey - congrats on the negative test. Lol pregnancy results

Vince read that in nc now you must ALWAYS wear a mask at a gym & can only take it down in a restaurant to put food in your mouth then you must raise it to chew. Not like that affects us much and it'll be a while before I can use the cardio machines. I can wear a mask all the time while doing weights

Had turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, salad, mac and cheese yesterday. I realized Jess has a small kitchen. She and Colby are moving to a 4 bedroom apartment early January so she'll have a larger kitchen next year. A friend of theirs also came over. Still not sure if they're going to Idaho.

My foot feels better today than it did Tuesday. Still not perfect

Allie- take care and do everything you're told to do.

Talked to Denise yesterday. Seems Peter and pj don't feel well yet they went to see Maria for a bit which surprised me. She has a blood disorder that makes her very vulnerable. But whatever...

    Fae- you achieved looking glamorous

Need to leave for jess' we leave iowa tomorrow

I think I'd want to be with Beverly Hillbillies. They are nice, seem to have fun and not a care in the world, and the house is so big I could escape to be completely alone and no one would probably notice. Plus, they're in southern California and could also escape to the cement pond to get away from people.

The Munsters would be interesting too, but I would never want to live with the Little House family or the Waltons. The Waltons scarred me as a kid and the Wilders are far too wholesome.

I would enjoy Family Ties, but they have a lot of people in a smallish space.

SuziQ – SFL thank you for the advice!

Well, colitis attack better but holiday depression worse. 2 of my 3 children made me feel neglecting yesterday because I wasn’t in Tn for one or RI for the other. Both think I can travel and visit whenever I want. They don’t accept CoVid or our financial situation prevents my traveling. Put me in a really deep depression last night feeling guilty. They are 36 and 38 years old, single and working.

<3 I'm so sorry to hear this about your children. I know how frustrated I get listening to friends or items on the news about people coming and going with no regard to medical suggestions for safety. It must be so much worse when the people who have no regard for your safety are your family members.

Machka & Evelyn: I live in Halloween Town. The Munsters are a logical choice for us to self-isolate with. They’ll fit right into the community.

Tracey: Congratulations on your negative Covid tests two weeks in a row! :flowerforyou:

Kate UK: We will be decorating in stages. I recently put the Halloween decorations away. The next step is to bring down Christmas decorations. The added lights are so valuable to me in the short days of winter. I’ll start with small decorations. I have loads of small artificial Christmas trees that can sit on counters and shelves. I’ll wait to bring in our living tree so that it doesn’t have to stay inside a warm house too long. :star

Dr.Katie: I hope you are able to get some needed rest. :flowerforyou:

Barbie: I am with you. I wouldn’t want to quarantine with any family. My son would dearly like to take care of us but there is no chance we will fly across the country at this time, nor will we drive. When we’ve been vaccinated for CoVid 19 we might decide to travel. I don’t think that will happen soon. :noway:

Fae: You look wonderful. Glamorous? Definitely. :flowerforyou:

Michele: I agree with your observation that the Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade is essentially a show designed to advertise to potential theater goers. I prefer the Pasadena Rose Parade. The floats are hand decorated and lovely. High School marching bands from around the US and the World who perform in the parade are delight.

    Kim: Happy Thanksgiving back-atcha!

(((Rita))): I’m sorry your kids were not as supportive as they should or could be. You and your DH are doing a good job that is valuable to tourists, travelers, and the community members who need to get away from home now and then. :flowerforyou:

DH was tired and went to bed early last night. He was able to chat with our son and DDIL. I stayed up later & was lucky enough to talk to both of our adult children. They are all currently well and happy. YAY!!!!! Thank goodness for facetime and Zoom!!!

:)Pip, Jake's ex mother in law is Mexican and she made tamales at Christmas for her grandchildren (Jake's kids). They would bring them along when the came to stay with us at Christmas. They were delicious. When the kids aged out of coming to our house for Christmas, the thing I missed most was Grandma Medina's tamales.

DH is still enthusing over the mushroom sauce.

DSIL rang this evening, just as I was serving up dinner. DH and she have arranged to talk tomorrow late morning. I hope he can broach the subject of me not exchanging presents this year with people. She makes a very big deal out of Christmas and we have often spent it with her. I always found it extremely stressful, though I am very fond of her. The best thing about covid is that it has given me the perfect excuse not to socialise. Being cooped up with people for hours is my idea of h..l. Last year her Christmas present to me was an re-gifting though, and she was a month late with my birthday present. I wasn't impressed.

Heather UK, hoping for a minimal Christmas. :D xxxxxxxx

Terri and Lanette - New Tricks was fabulous when it first started, but it eventually went downhill and went on too long. The original cast were brilliant. When he was younger I had a crush on James Bolam in When The Boat Comes In. I called my younger son Jack after his character. I love a north-east accent. :D<3

Trying not to let their comments bother me but hurtful. Gotta get my head on straight. Why do they think I live in an RV and work at a park?

(Ps.. must remember that no matter how bad I think I have it, there are people worse off than me.)

I am sorry your kids made you feel that way. Hey at least you hear from yours.... I have had no communication with my overseas son since June 22nd. All I can offer to you is YOU DO YOU. It's because you love them that you can not visit them <3. It's those kinds of mindsets that get COVID flare ups. Hugs!

I bought a sleep download mp3 so I can go to sleep faster and stay asleep. I find my sleep dictates how much energy I have and how well I function during the day, including my mood. I am hooked to seeing how much sleep I've gotten every night on my fitbit webpage.
Today I re-arranged my living room (again) to give room for my big rebounder that I had placed in my bedroom. My mat I bought and Gazelle slider are all in my living room to inspire me to get exercise and this works especially well during the rainy winter months here in Washington state.
I hope you've all had a nice Thanksgiving if you celebrated it! I'm enjoying another day off! Yeah! <3kvfmyjtd1lt0.jpg
