Does diet plans really work?🤔

Guys. Some/Most of us have gone through strict diet plans before. But some of us get tired of it, can't do it ,can't stand it or can't afford all the vegan/vegetarian/keto diet plans in total. But we all just need to suck it up! I mean,we all want to lose weight right? Cos that is why I'm here. I'm not an American, I'm a Proud Ghanaian ,and I can't really look at how many calories I'm taking in. So I just have to eat little. I also add exercise. 5 in 7 days a week. This is such an amazingly good platform to start all over again. I weigh 120 lb which bothers me. So I'm gonna start from scratch. I hope you do the same. But diet plans actually depends on who does it,the dedication and focus of that person and whether he/she wants it so badly. Thanks if you read this. I'm hoping to make my own blog in the future.     You're 5'7" and 120 lbs and you're trying to lose weight? If I've understood that correctly, that doesn't seem like a healthy goal. Do you just mean dropping one or two pounds? What is your goal weight?

    I thought that was (restating) "exercising 5 of 7 days a week", not a height, just the preposition choice being possibly misleading. Could be wrong, though.

    How tall are you? 120 pounds isn't overweight for most heights.

    How old are you? If you are a teenager or just out of your teens, a better goal than losing weight might be to maintain that 120 pounds. Your older self will thank you :)

    Many women start dieting when we were young and end up yoyoing and gaining more than if we'd just stayed at that weight.

    She is simply enthusiastic about being here, because it’s doable, with regular foods, and no membership dues or funky paid diet foods. She’s excited about incorporating exercising.

    Same thing we would all say ourselves.

    I do, however, wonder about your height. 120 is a good weight unless you’re really short?

    OP, your language skills are superb. My “hat is off” to you. One day I will have German grandkids, and I worry we will only be able to say Guten Tag and aufweidersehn.

    My son in law learned his stellar English from...wait for it... listening to rap music.


    Great post to chime in with. Also, I agree that OP's English is great.

    Dont worry about not being able to communicate with your grandkids. They will probably grow up bilingual, and even if not: German schools start teaching English in primary schools these days, so you should be fine. ( That said, it's not "aufweidersehen". It is "auf Wiedersehen". Any time you see an "ie" in German the sound produced would be similar to the sound in the middle of "lease" or "deed". An "ei" produces a sound like the vowel you hear in "like".)

    Who's not relaxed?

    No one has remotely suggested there's anything wrong with OP's "language skills." The post seems like a native English speaker or someone with fluency equivalent to a native English speaker. People are just asking for omitted information needed to craft appropriate responses, as we do all the time. People looking for help don't always know what info they need to provide.

    Hi you can still track calories you can put them in here. You go to food diary and add your meal by ingredients you use with recipe builder or you can look up things like avacado or etc

    IMO diets work, extreme diet's do not, at least not in the long term. Eat a wide variety of foods, at a (slight) deficit. Small enough that you elicit the response you want (fat loss) but not big enough that your body compensates making you obsess about food.

    Train with a focus on improving strength, flexibility, mobility and conditioning. Do not train with a focus of burning calories, IMO that is the wrong mindset. Weigh yourself every morning after going to the bathroom. Do this to track progress but more importantly so you get used to normal weight fluctuations.

    Make sure you are recovering. Get adequate sleep!

    Don't major in the minors.

    Be consistent. Be patient. Be compassionate (with yourself).
