Well, I guess you start by posting a “woe is me” post ✅
Then watch the responses pour in ✅

Maybe mean spirited texts like this gets you friends. Let me know if it worked.
Even if you are not referring to me...its unkind.
And for the record...mines a joke...im in no way ashamed of my body and my accomplishments.9 -

No, don't say that! As someone new to MFP (and for the most part at the beginning of her journey) I can tell you that seeing you get in there and flex with the big boys was awesome! You look great, and I hope you keep posting.
Thanks! ❤ we are all at difference parts of our journey. I am motivated by seeing and reading about everyone's progress.4 -
ughh! That was one of the stupidest posts I made in 2020, dont remind me 😅

Are you referring to my comment. If so. My bad Happi. 🤣
haha no worries, all good🤗0 -
I guess it depends on how you define popular? Does it = a lot of friends?
Well, on a fitness site, one way is to be in great shape, or smash some crazy fitness goals and share on here about it. If your pics show progress and your posts show a half decency about them... Then you'll likely get some friend requests.
Visibility + decency + sense of humour often = friend requests. Showing the goods doesn't hurt, either. Lol
What is more important, is whether any of those turn into lasting friendships... That's where consistency comes in.
But really... Popular isn't as important as quality. If you are lucky to make some good, true friends out of it all... Then that's more than you ever need.
There are some truly amazing people on here... Look for them.3 -

Idk 🤔 doesn’t work for me
I think to be popular you just have to actually interact with people2 -

I tell my kids popularity is not something anyone should aspire to be. Popularity is fickle. Loses its luster quickly and so on.
I'm totally showing my mom side. I'll go back to hiding.
Yep.. todays popular is tomorrow's "who are they?"

Yesssss
Thanks you guys 🤗...
I'll probably do that soon... Been a while since I've posted a genuine transformation photo 😂3 -
I wouldn’t call them popular per say ... I consider them more like the regulars, the ones who’ve been here for years and post everyday...
I think that’s dope- the ones who stay to give advice and seem like they genuinely care to help others in their fitness/ weight loss journey. So start there maybe?
Anything other than that i think it’s quite embarrassing to be considered popular by the definition Reenie gave about cliques/ high school on any internet forum you’re invested in the wrong things...like what’s your real life looking like- I think that’s more important.9 -

Have a great dumbbell collection, probably5

Aww what a sweet thing to say
I wasn't even posting my comment and bringing this back to life for attention. It was because of others' feelings in regards to replies that they get. The main point was and still is, we all need to be mindful of what we say and how it could be taken because behind the words real people exist.4 -
best way to become popular is to start a new thread called "hi!!!!" and post a selfie in the first comment without anything else.
then when people start asking why you didn't just post it in the selfie thread, make sure to say "oops I thought I did sorry guys!"
bonus points if your selfie is a Snapchat screenshot so then everyone knows you have Snapchat 😎9 -

You sound like you’ve been around awhile😂4 -

These are the kinds of answers I seek!
For the record, I care not about popularity. My OP was mostly silly. Anyone who knows me around here, knows I'm almost always sarcastic. I suck at being a pal on here, I go long periods of time without logging, forget to return messages. I have over 100 pending friend requests that just stay in limbo because I forget to accept, then feel awkward accepting a long time later.
I used to be a regular around here. I have made several lasting connections on MFP over the years, I hope to make more eventually.5 -
start a "has anybody taken one of these personality tests???" thread with a link to said personality test.
works every time.2 -
Maybe implement some sort of gimmick into all of your posts, like the flag of Equatorial Guinea 🇬🇶3
-
Have an animal/pet as your pp...its a good conversation starter1

Its kinda hard to do that when you're shy 🙈2 -
Re:shyness, I'm wondering if people who are shy in their daily lives tend to open up a lot more on forums? Does remaining anonymous help you open up easier?3

Don't ask me: I'm as awkward and socially inept as they come. Introverts of the world unite!

The key is to always take a contrarian viewpoint but send lots of PMs clarifying that you are just playing Devil’s advocate. And send lots of unsolicited nudes. Everybody loves to open a message and find a super closeup of naughty bits. Oh and report anyone who disagrees with you.
What did I miss?4 -
