    Maintenance range: 75kg (+/- 2.5 kg)

    Weight lost: 86kg to 80 kg (January-August 2012); 85 kg to 69 kg (October 2014 - March 2016); 88kg to present weight (May 2020 - now)
maintained (i.e. was below 77.5 kg, and mostly below 75 kg) from February 2015-July 2017; was then put on a medication and gained 2 kg in a month; went on sabbatical (away from scales; lots of conference meals); hit (peri-)menopause and lost track of things except to note that I was steadily gaining and back to 85/86 kg.
Lost to 81 kg at Easter 2020 (top of normal bmi for me), but then gained back to 88 kg in April/May (Easter egg binge; lock down closed the pool...).

Average weight recorded for December currently (as of 3 December): 76.27 kg

Still losing, now with just over 1.5 kg to go, and in my maintenance range since late October. Since I have lost and gained before (see above) I really want to plan for maintenance this time; hence joining this thread. After maintaining for a while at 75 kg, I may adjust my maintenance weight down to 72 kg (+/- 2.5), but I want to reach 75kg and maintain for a few months before making that decision.

    Comment on this week:
This morning, after normal exercise (i.e. not a row over 10km!), I weighed in at 75.6 kg; when my weigh-ins on mornings I don't exercise have been below 77kg over the past two weeks. This places my weight firmly within my maintenance range but still in the top half. I am planning to move to maintenance calories once my monthly average is below 75.5 kg, which might be at the end of December (depending on how I do over Christmas).

Success(es)/struggle(s) of the week: This week was a planned surplus calorie week for me as it was my birthday week, and I budgeted in a modest surplus over the week. I also allowed myself in the back of my mind to go all out and eat over my surplus calories if I wanted, but I ended up not doing that except for 1 day (almost 3000 calories!), and stayed within the budgeted surplus calories the rest of the time. I ordered a ton of food and desserts/pastries, and despite this, I somehow didn't see much of any water weight gain - in fact, maybe even the opposite, as I dropped back down to ~110.5 lbs on two days this week.

Hi! My name is Kristen. And I struggle to maintain my weight. I have had great success losing/gaining, but I'm hoping this group helps me be more accountable. I weigh only 1x week on Sundays, so that's when I'll check in. My 2 goals in 2020 are to not let the scale go above 153 and weigh in EVERY Sunday for the WHOLE YEAR. This seems easy to most, but I get lazy and make excuses why I don't need to weigh in and then all of a sudden everything in my closet has shrunk. LOL

Might need to watch food intake this week to get this trend down a bit, well in my window, but high for what I've been the last few months

Hope everyone has a great week.

Hi My name is Marianne. I maintain my weight just under 199.9- however it has become more difficult it seems. Two years ago I was around 115-117. Now I fight to not see the 119 number on the scale. My life changed drastically as my husband of 37 years died in 4.5 months from GBM. I was devastated. Eventually I moved and then met and married a wonderful man, also a widower. I am happy with him very happy. However I never would have a glass of wine for dinner and now know I enjoy it!!! I believe just a small amount of alcohol is making things harder as I also will have some hummus and carrots etc with it- often at 4. So I commit to this group that I will not do that today! I hope it is ok to put this post on the page. I have maintained my weight for countless years after a pretty significant weight loss-

So sorry hear of your loss, but glad about your new relationship. My husband is a wine buff, and I find it sometimes presents some challenges to balance our love of wine with my wanting to stabilise my weight. Good luck! Its not my thread, but I think it would be great if you were to come back and post here. I am in my maintenance range but still aiming to reach my goal weight, so we are in a similar situation.

I think your opening sentence should probably read maintain my weight just under 119.9? Or maybe even 118.9?

Success/Struggles: My weight has fluctuated up and down a lot this week,  but is staying in range.  I had to cut my run on Thursday short because of hip pain. I think it is tendonitis,  but no running for a few days maybe a week.  So I am a little nervous about the decreased activity,  but I know that as long as I pay attention to CI/CO it will all be ok.

    Successes/struggles:
I was supposed to be going away on holiday last week - 4 nights in a hotel from Thursday to Monday - with lots of festive food and drink and less opportunity to exercise (no cycling for instance). In the run up to this I was happy to lose a couple of pounds to the bottom of my maintenance range. The holiday is cancelled - the hotel is in North Wales - so now I'm at home. Our New Years' Eve break is also cancelled, and Christmas Day will be a quiet one with my mum and boyfriend. So, here I am, near the bottom of my weight range. with a few more weeks of staying quietly at home. When I was this weight in the summer I had several holidays coming up - not to mention "Eat out to help out" - which got me back to a more sensible weight.

However, I have been working on counting my blessings - my family are all well*, none of them have been made redundant, we are in a much better position than so many others - so in comparison I have nothing to complain about.

Hope everyone is keeping well, stay safe.

*My son is still having chemotherapy for his brain tumour but is reasonably well.

    Comment on this week:
I seem to be hovering around 76kg at the moment, but this time last month I was hovering around 77kg, so that's OK. I am grateful for my tracking graphs, as it's so easy to feel that I have been stuck for ages, when in fact I am losing slowly but steadily through the top half of my maintenance range. However, realising how slowly I am losing these last few kgs makes me wonder if I should think of maintenance as 75kg +/- 2kg rather than +/- 2.5kg. Realisticaly, a real gain of 2kg means two months to lose it at 0.25kg per week. I think I don't yet know enough about my normal weight fluctuations to judge this.

On Sunday I didn't exercise and ate at (or maybe even over) maintenance. I was still down at my weigh-in yesterday morning. This was my first weigh-in under 76kg without exercise. (I have not been there since June 2016, when I passed 76kg on getting heavier!) I am looking forward to discovering the true level of my maintenance calories.

Not feeling well every other day. Very rare for me. Hope this goes away soon! Scale was edging up, now flattening. Glad I was able to catch it. Exercising a lot when I’m peppy, resting otherwise. Reducing calorie intake. Improving quality of food to help tummy bug.

LOL

    Age: 42
    Sex: Female
    Height: 5'11"
    Total weight lost: 20 pounds

Successes/Struggles: Still on a slight upward climb. Would like to keep things here until after the New Year when I can concentrate on getting the number back down a few point. Not off the rails yet, still within my 'goal weight range'.

Hope everyone has a great week.

Success/Struggles: My weight was good this week. Since I wasn't running this week I dropped my calorie goal by 350 calories.  I didn't have any trouble eating at that level. And my weight trend stayed in the 113 range all week and I only had 1 day at 114 actual weight and today was 112.8 but I try to just look at the trend. So that reassured me that if I need to cut my exercise I will be able to eat less and not feel deprived.  My hip is feeling better and I did get out for a 2.5 mile run yesterday.  So I am easing back into running and will adjust my calories as needed.  I really love that CI/CO works.

    @kgirlhart --

Yes - CICO does work. When I was eating about 300 calories over maintenance, I started gaining about a half pound a week. Now staying closer to right on target, I'm stabilizing. Now I need to work on a small deficit to get back the middle and/or bottom of my maintenance range.
