Yep. This exactly. I'm at 21 BMI right now. A good healthy weight, but I wanted to be even leaner and that's HARD. Trying to maintain about 9 down from where I am currently and I have to be really, super mindful. That's why I still track here like many, to stay accountable

01/02 - 134.6 - Ok, there’s the impact of New Year’s Eve/Day. It’s ok - some of it is water, and and for anything that isn’t - I have my meal plan for the week, lots of fun new workouts to do, a plank challenge for the month and a goal weight to hit by April! I’m excited for 2021!

01/03 - 134.6 - Did a boxing workout this morning that really got me sweating! Today is meal prep day - making egg muffins, overnight oats, lunch for the week and granola bars for snacks. The scale will go back down soon - just need to be patient.

01/04 - 133.4 - Now it really is back to normal life - DH is back to work and we’re starting up homeschool again for my daughter. It’s a cold, grey day here, which doesn’t bother me too much but does make it hard to entertain two kids when they don’t want to get dressed and go play in the rain. I’ve already entered all my pre-planned meals and snacks for today into MFP - hopefully that will help me stick to them!

I’ve been off track for awhile . I lost 30 lbs last year but could have done better.
This year has been stressful. I’m an Icu nurse and covid has taken its toll on me, got a new hip in May and covid hit me physically dec 12. I was off work 3.5 weeks due to covid causing pneumonia. I’m ready to get healthy , covid is not going anywhere so I need to get healthy and take care of myself. It may be slow due to still recovering but plan on slowly getting back into exercise.

It really is! It's nice to know someone else understands my struggle lol! I definitely noticed the shift when I was more sporadic with posting in here and it slowly crept up then down, then up. It's really nice to just have a place to write a blurb and check-in with people going through their own health journey. But we can get to where we want to be! It will just take some patience... which is hard.

@jaccimc63, I'm so sorry to hear that your family is going through health crises. Truly sad to hear of your husbands bladder cancer. Its one of the cancers we don't even think about. My brother had bladder cancer. I was there for him from urologist visits, diagnosis, surgery, recovery and after care. I'll keep you and your husband in my prayers.

01/04 …..207.4 ….. Slightly up due to a very very late night dinner. Travel plans were cancelled at the very last minute and the day was haywire. However, I managed to get my 10,000 + steps in, though it wasn’t easy.

January 01 – 10,053 steps. I mean business!
January 02 – Traveled. Only 7308 steps.
January 03 – 10,571 steps. Travel plans were cancelled so I fit it in.

It will be yet another day of celebrating with friends today, why do I have so many occasions that center around the sharing of extravagant foods?
For next year I'm going to think up activities that will shift the focus away from the meal/special foods, maybe a costume party for Christmas or a working bee/group project for new years?
I'll tell everyone this year that I'm tryin' to start a thing and see if they go for it.

So far over my kj's yesterday that I almost wimped out on doing the weigh-in this morning.
I find myself back to my old thought patterns about not wanting to waste *eye roll* the leftover treat foods... must remember: a much more tragic waste would be not accomplishing what I want to in my life.

Got back on the better eating wagon yesterday, took me longer to adjust back after the holiday than I thought it would, I just kept telling myself that this would be the final day and then the next and the next, relapsing back into old patterns -eating away at my resolve that changing my lifestyle is important.
Before my next food focused holidays (June Solstice) I'm going to have to work out some strategies to manage those "lingering on" tendencies and reignite my resolve more quickly... maybe in the days following my holidays I'll find a healthy activity like a fun run or plan a hike or ride so I'm abruptly confronted with the reality of why eating well matters.

I'm trying to get some Oomph happening for January but am feeling like I'm lagging behind in all the things.
Got to remember that it's not a race, it's not like I can sprint and "win". it's not about being good/bad, it's about no longer denying my physical self the care and consideration that I have always automatically given to my pets and my loved ones. I'm realizing that even my home has routinely gotten more of my attention than my health LOL! As Willy Wonka said "What do you think will come of that?"
