Many of us don't use our government names here. But tell us more about this mindset you've got going on.7

In food there is life.
Food has taken over my life. If I don't eat food I shall surely die. If I die, I surely am done enjoying food.
I'll take the food! Join me! Don't worry. There's no Kool-aid. Just brown rice, green leafy vegetables, potato chips, chocolate, roasted eggplant, Pinot noir, winter squash, Dungeness crab, artichokes, avocados, rolled oats, and even a taco now and then.
I think that's an OK mindset. I think I can make it. Pass the salsa.11 -
My name is not actually lemurcat2.
What specifically do you want to say about food taking over one's life? IME, it's possible to channel interest in food to having fun meal planning and cooking and even buying food.7 -
Weirdly, my name is actually goal06082021.
The funny thing about food is that we need it to live. I'm very interested in what you mean by "with the right mind set [sic] you can make it." Make what? Food? Have you figured out how to synthesize your own energy from the very air around you? Did a tree somehow make an MFP account? So many questions.
edit to add: Is this the famed Tree That Owns Itself? It's an honor, sir!7 -
Food is life, and my mama named me quiksylver296. She thought it was pretty.8

My name was decided by the birth of a Royal Prince.
Bicycles can take over your life but with the right groupset you can make it.
Let's talk about food (or bikes) OP.6 -
Yeah.
Let's talk about food.
I took a walk to the fish market today. I wanted a dungeness crab. I got a small one; about 1.3 pounds. Way smaller than the 2.2 pounder I got the other day that was delicious.
I have been craving fresh oysters. The most local ones are about an hour away, and this market usually has them. Because of how they grow, they can't harvest until at least three days have passed from a major rain. So they had some from Totten Inlet which is in the southern end of the Puget Sound (which I call the Salish Sea). They were oh so salty and delicious. I'm hoping to get some Umpqua Triangle oysters some time soon.
I think I am getting this mindset right.2 -
Let's talk about bikes.
I need to get back to spending more time on mine. No chain - belt drive. Quiet and clean. But it means the gears are an internally geared hub, and.... heavy. Great commuter bike. It's either the future of bikes or an evolutionary dead-end.

Actually, I think it was Slartibartfast, and what he actually said was, "My name's not important. You must come with me, or you'll be late." Vogon attack was imminent, and it was time for some pan galactic gargleblasters, or at least a few pints.

This is the best chat thread on MFP atm. Everyone else ia just way too serious1

The MFP ATM?
Is that the one you deposit and withdraw calories from?
I’d talk bikes, but mine is pretty sissy. So, yoga mats.
I have five. The cat has only managed to chew the corner off two and a knee pad. He’s not working hard enough.
Why won’t you let me join the Zoom class2 -
My cat's name is none of your concern but I want to talk about how cats can take over your life it is really easy but with the right mind set you can make it5

I find that closing my eyes so they can’t stare me into submission works.

My name is none of your concern but I want to talk about how skiing can take over your life... it’s not easy but with the right mind set you can make it... but after the initial high, it’s downhill all the way...1

I reckon if you ride lifts it's all downhill, but if you earn your turns, you have to keep working at getting a new high. As they say in the telemark world; free your heel, and your mind will follow.
Let that ferment in your head for a while.
In the meantime, I'm letting some napa cabbage ferment on my counter. It's name is of no concern to you, but I want to talk about how fermentation can take over your life it is really easy, but with the right mind set, and a little salt, YOU can make it. I'm making it now.1 -

Downhill skiing is a 6-8 METs activity. You can check the Internet if you won't take the word of someone whose name is of no concern to you.1 -

I don't doubt it.
My little tracking device doesn't seem to understand that I am CHARGING the slopes. It gives me very little calorie burn in between lift rides.
I had a season pass last year, and between awful early-season conditions and then this little virus that's going around, I only got to go up two days. I'm hoping to get out even two days this season, but no season pass. I want to go visit some other lifts if we get enough snow.
Snow is future whitewater, and that's good too.
The name of the ski hills is of no concern to you, I want to talk about how whitewater can take over your life it's not easy but with the right mind set you can make it.

You really have the format down pat, don't you? 🤣1 -
I am trying to get the right mind set. Then I can make it. I'm still waiting for @Thehurricaneike4862 to come back and offer some guidance.
In the meantime, let's talk about food and bikes and skis and maybe even kimchi. It's not hard, and with the right amount of salt, you can make it.2
