I greet everyone. Anyone who doesn't respond in kind, I chase down and trip them.
Finally, the perfect way to get those sprint intervals in!

When I'm with my 3 y.o. though she says "hi" to absolutely everyone we pass, so it's good that we all stay a bit flexible with this I guess.
    Aww. That's cute.
Actually, those people that find it rude when runners do not greet each other, do you say hello to everybody you pass when walking down the street or in the shopping mall, I am curious.
    Good point!

I usually run alone in the morning...and I'm a huge grumpypants in the morning. I don't usually say hi to anyone. Headphones in, eyes alert, legs moving.

In Philly, I've noticed that making eye contact makes most people uncomfortable. ETA: I've run on Kelly Drive and along my neighborhood streets - passed dozens of runners. None have even made an attempt to say hello or wave. Everyone is in their own running world.
