I’m Lee ann and I’m getting ready to go have gastric surgery and I want to start my diet and learn to eat better foods for me. I know the good from the bad but the bad over rides my brain at times. But I’m here going to try and I hope we can all help each other. Thank you

I hope you find the tools here useful. I don't believe in "good" or "bad" foods. I think that there's some foods that provide only pure joy and happiness and not a whole lot in the way of nutrition, but maybe lots of calories. Those are to be eaten in smaller portions. The other foods with lots of nutrients and lower calories? Eat 'em!
A good start might be simply to log everything you eat so you'll have a starting point.
What goals do you have for yourself before your surgery? What will you do after surgery to assure you keep on track and get to your happy place?

Also, try using the search function and entering “gastric band” for useful threads.
