Calories lower from exercise?

My daily calorie goal is 2560. I use apps to track my workouts and steps. My calorie goal is decreasing from exercise calories, shouldn't my calorie goal go up?

Your device (that you haven't named) is possibly sending over something different to just exercise calories.
Possibly both general activity and exercise. If that combined so far today is less than might have been expected that might account for it but hard to tell with limited information.
Can you examine what the adjustment actually says?
(That it apepars as exercise is because that's the only place it could appear.)

You don't have to link your device of course, you could log your exercise manually.

Do you have a device synced to MFP? What is your activity level set to on MFP?

If your activity level is set to active but your step count is low, the app. may be reducing your calorie level.

Your device integration could be legitimately decreasing your calories with additional exercise as mentioned above

Your device integration could also be erroneously decreasing your calories with exercise. As in not working properly from the get go as was the case with apple in the past based on forum reports. Not sure what the status of that is these days.

Basically integration expects your device to send over your TDEE at midnight. Including both active, inactive, exercise, or being alive calories. If mfp gets something else.... confusion follows.

Yes, when I had a FitBit I kept myself on Sedentary because that Negative Calorie Adjustment was depressing.

There used to be a place where Negative Calorie Adjustment could be unchecked but I can't find it now. Anyone?

    ETA: thanks guys!

But if the negative adjustment is truly an accurate(-ish) correction, turning off "enable negative adjustments" might not be that great a solution?

Right, to clarify, this should only be shut off if one is certain that it will all work out by the end of the day.

Said many times: I like to make my MFP settings "sedentary" and "no negative corrections." I have the Garmin linked, and if I do anything, including taking the trash out or walking around at work, I get a few extra calories. In other words, the "correction" is always positive. I like that!
