Hi...I am in search of calorie dense foods that are low in Fibre and high in protein, 'Cos I'm in need of bulking up a bit, without aggravating my Crohn's disease...
Anyone got any ideas of what may fit the bill?

Animal protein (i.e., meat) has no fiber, that might be your best bet if you can do that.3

Fish, tofu, some plant based proteins like pea.0

I would dearly love to eat lots of meat, but unfortunately, I have a narrowing in my small intestine due to the Crohn's disease, and I have found meat of any sort causes great discomfort when I eat it, so I will just have to do without it now. there is a long list of foods that I used to enjoy eating that I can't eat right now. currently I am having to eat 1200 calories a day in zero fibre nutritionally balanced supplement shakes just to avoid losing weight. As far as actual food goes, I have to make it semi-liquidised... and it is getting quite boring to be honest.
I dream about meat feast pizzas and large amounts of BBQ chicken. But the food I eat has to resemble baby food.0 -
Tofu...Hmmm... good call... I haven't had that for a long time. I will give that a go.0

Peanut/nut butter
Cottage cheese
Egg salad
Tuna salad
Greek yogurt
Whey/protein shakes
Nutritional yeast - add 2 tablespoons to any savory food for a boost in protein.
Fish - high protein/low fiber4 -
Thankyou for the suggestions, all great. I will be sure to give a few of them a try.
The nature of Crohn’s unfortunately means that even the most easily digested foods can sometimes behave as though I have just eaten a bowl of glowing embers. But, if I don’t try things out I will never know.
Coincidentally, I have just had a huge tub of Lactose-free Greek yoghurt, and I am just realising 400g of it may just be a bit too much in one go. But sometimes, too much is better than not enough.4 -
Consider mining the spreadsheet linked to this thread for ideas:
http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10247171/carbs-and-fats-are-cheap-heres-a-guide-to-getting-your-proteins-worth-fiber-also
The spreadsheet is focused on protein efficiency (most protein for fewest calories), but also includes fiber data, so you should be able to find candidate foods there.2 -

Thanks... I'll take a look.
