That's why you look so familiar   :laugh:0 -
They tend to work better for women for the most part but most get too overwhelmed and quit. I know many that would get like 50-80 messages a day. Crazy. Now I get most of them are prolly not the best quality of dudes but you are still getting hit on. Heck, I get like 1 message every 5-6 days My guy friends get about the same. Not to generalize but it does seem many men are always on the hunt for women.
Btw, my message rate is from 3 different dating sites combined. Not sure if its me or because where I am located. Music town and military dudes so that could be it. I will say this, I sure do have alot of luck on here though. Too bad most of the ones that hit on me are married or have boyfriends.0 -

I've used POF before, and (it took awhile) but i got incredibly lucky and met someone awesome. Id met a few people from it, all were quite normal people (although be careful of the crazies-quite a few people on there have massive self esteem issues hence the need for online dating), just not my types. anyways its really not that bad.0

I was going to reply to this earlier but I have a hard time in this section telling which topics are sincere and which are something else entirely.
The love of my life and I were introduced by a mutual friend as a potential good match 5+ years before we reconnected again on POF almost three years ago. We actually didn't realize that we had met one another a couple of times (we never hung out or dated, just were introduced once for about five minutes and then we saw one another at the funeral and burial of our mutual friend's father, and after that it was awkward to ask her for his phone number!) until we had chatted some and I had done some creeping to realize who he was. We are working on saving for a mortgage and plan to marry and start a family together.
A friend of mine met her now husband on OKCupid.
POF is really full of a lot of people just looking for one night stands and casual relationships, but I always figured if I, as a normal, busy person with no interest in NSA relationships was on there, there had to be others like me out there, too. I "kissed a lot of frogs" before G contacted me. The free sites are often like that, have to sift through a lot of junk if you're looking for something besides NSA.
OKCupid seems to deterr people with the extensive questionnaires they use, even though it's also free.0 -
Never tried any but always felt temped.. but I feel a bit shy and always worry bout rejection its like putting ur self out there for all to see.0

Its all a game of luck...
So true! My bad luck in love/meeting people followed me to every dating website I've ever tried. While one of my oldest friends went on Match for a while (maybe a year) and met and is now married to a great guy who is like a rocket scientist. At this point I've come to the realization that it must be me : (0 -

POF was too overwhelming for me.
I'd get a ton of messages per day, 20-30, more on the weekend, many of the perv kind (can't blame a guy for trying) Many requesting dates in their first email. Then some would get rude because I didn't answer their email(s) the day they sent it. Crazies....:noway:
The ones that seemed like genuine, nice men made it to the dates. For the most part they were ok, but didn't feel any connections.
For me it was too much weeding through the bs.
Thought to myself F this *kitten* and shut it down. lol
Funny enough I met my SO through FB, so technically online
My tips for online dating profiles. Recent photos. So many people have old ones. Have clear pics, and add a few different ones not just a face close up. So many had old, blurry pictures. I know, I know looks shouldn't matter but really...they kind of do when you have little else to go by.
Be honest in your profile. Not that many read it properly, I know I clearly stated booty calls were not what I was looking for. It does help to say what you wantand what your interests may be. It shows a bit of personality
Meet in public places, Let someone know where you are going and who with.
And keep an open mind :flowerforyou: It works for many people and if nothing else, it gets your feet wet for getting back into the dating world.0 -
As someone who has used dating sites off and on for awhile, I would stick to meeting someone in real life, not online - especially do not use POF (plenty of fish), the only people I have met on there in person ended up being really nasty men as in not nice. I honestly think a majority of people online do not have the social skills to date in real life and love to hide behind a computer and cell phone, they are one way talking through texting and act completely different when you meet them. I've given up the whole online things and am happy working out for now and getting the healthy lifestyle I've always wanted0

My wife deleted my eharmony profile :huh:0

Were you wearing your "Rock Hard, Ride Hard" shirt in your POF profile pic? .. because . . well.. pervy messages. . .0 -

I think they are creepy. Its seems full of people with poor social skills or just looking for one night stands. I want a real man to have the balls to come up and introduce himself anyway...not some dude who is an online creeper in a virtual human meat catalog.0

I meet my gf soon to be wife in an online dating http://www.yournewpartner.net . And now we are engaged. I think you have to seeds through it so find the perfect one for you. Some of my friends have also meet their gf which encouraged me a lot though not all of them have success at their first relationship as mine did. Just try it out guys and best of good luck!0

Team Mfp lol0

its good to cure boredom and sometimes you can meet someone and have a genuine connection and become good friends or more in the future. However for every 1 message you get worth reading you get 100 more for the trash bin so be prepared for the perves out there0

Been ok OKC for awhile and I am so...unimpressed. I'd say 80% of the messages I get are like this:
"hey bb what u do 4 me?" (probably has more than one picture of only his abs. No face pictures)
"can i ask y a qusnt?" After I don't respond for a week "k ***** hert like ice"
"hey " (You will get 30+ of these a week)
"gurl u r beautiful. dat smile wow. blew my mind"
"Hey lol RAWR XD" Dude, you are 30 years old lay off the Deviantart emoticons.
"i take u to coffee we talk sometime deep?" (foreign guy that doesn't speak English well)
"My wife and I are looking for someone to join us in the bedroom" (not my style, sorry friend. You will get 1 message a week like this)
Been there and really trying for two months now and NO LUCK. Some guys are decent to chat with but I wouldn't want to date any of them so far. Good luck though. Prepare for awkward messages.0 -

This is too funny because it is so true. I cant tell you how many guys I have had and woman mind you that have said my spouse and I want a 3way...Im like seriously. And the dudes that dont speak English, the guys that have nothing better to entice you with than Hey , and then the few who dont even have a profile picture but try to get you to send them some. Too funny0
