Hi, I lost 145lbs with MFP 5 years ago and regained about 2/3 after a cancer scare and underactive thyroid diagnosis and treatment, and some turbulance in my personal life. Back strong on it now and have lost 12lbs since 12th April. Add me if you want a friend who logs daily, good and bad.7

Good for you! Keep focused even during the frustrating times. I decided to be committed to weight lose on November 7, 2020 and have lost 40 pound in 25 weeks. I finally decided to add working out at least 3 times a week in February when I gained 3 pounds in two weeks. It has made a huge change in the way I approach each day. I'm turning 51 on May 17th and my goal was be 40 pounds lighter. I've met that goal and working on set another mini goal of losing 3 pounds by then.
So, I hope you know 50 is just a number. You can absolutely do this!!10 -
Welcome aboard. I will be reaching out to "friend" you. Everyone can use the motivation that this site offers. I am 68-years-old and have lost 100 lbs. since July 2020 with intermittent fasting and logging in my daily food/meals on MFP. It can be done! Wishing you all the best on your new lifestyle journey.8

Hi kbird! Good for you for starting, and for asking and offering encouragement! I wish you the best of luck. I'm 70 now and it's hard to lose weight at that age, especially with the Covid restrictions that keep us from going out with friends to do things. I haven't given up yet though -- hope springs eternal!

Welcome back! I just turned 50 too! You are on the right track. Log everything...join some community groups/challenges on MFP...and get moving... I have a long way to go... but I refuse to stop. ;D Best wishes! Hope we will both report successes often.2
