Need Advice For Diet And Fitness

Approximately how much weight (even a ballpark estimate) could a person loose doing this for 3 months?
160 lb 54 year old female walks briskly for 12 to 24 minutes per day, 7 days a week (weather permitting). The circuit contains some slight uphill/downhill pavement, though mostly flat. Drinks total of 3-5 cups of green tea daily. Began using apple cider vinegar for weight loss 15 weeks ago- 1 cap full per day, poured into a cup of green tea. The total caloric intake is approx 965 calories per day.
Breakdown of Calories:
Breakfast:
2 Eggs- 156 Calories
1/2 cup Oatmeal- 150 Calories
1 Slice Bread- 80 Calories
Lunch and Dinner:
2 salads (white wine vinegar as dressing)-30 Calories
Whole Chocolate Bar- 540 calories
4 cups Green Tea throughout day- 9.8 Calories
Total: 965 Calories

"John Smith", let's just say that (IMO) it's a pretty terrible idea. The female will sacrifice health and hard-to-regain muscle mass in pursuit of a flaccid thinness, if she sticks to this. Sticking with it will be hard, because our bodies like to fight starvation. It's too few calories, and will result in under-nutrition (certainly too little protein, possibly too little fat, and maybe too little produce besides, depending on the salads).
Green tea has little utility for weight loss, nor does apple cider vinegar. Some studies have shown truly tiny effects on appetite or the like, but it's not particularly useful. 965 calories is way too few. (At a similar weight and age, 1200+all exercise calories was too low for me, caused weakness and fatigue; I was lucky to have only a tiny bit of hair loss - a few weeks later since that's usually a delayed reaction - and especially lucky not to have gotten gallstones, immune system compromise, heart damage, or some other truly awful lower-probability but possible consequence. BTW, I underate by accident, not on purpose as is being proposed here.)
If she sticks to it, she will lose weight fast . . . at least until the fatigue comes on and reduces spontaneous activity, at which point loss will slow somewhat, strange water weight fluctuations will start to distort scale results, she may start to feel cold all the time, probably eventually the hair thinning & brittle nails start to show up (delayed response, like I said), and who knows what else.
You didn't give us enough information to estimate how fast she'll lose weight, by the way, but eating calories that low, it'll be too fast. I'm older, but smaller. Eating that level, I'd be in the hospital before the 3 months was up, severely underweight and malnourished.
Tell her not to do it, but to do something more health-promoting, sensible, moderate.11 -

Not sure how many pounds she’ll lose, but pretty sure she’ll use A LOT of energy.2

Yes, they would contribute somewhat to even faster weight loss, thus make the plan even worse, more dangerous, more likely to create serious health problems. Really, really, this is a terrible, very bad plan.

I've always called it nervous energy, but yeah. A lot of stuff pent up in there and nowhere to go. I'm acutely familiar with it- as an observer and from personal experience as well. Is it true that some "moderate" exercise/ walking can reduce stress and lower high blood pressure? I've heard that.0 -
yes, though your friend sounds a bit of a mess and would probably benefit from some emergency counseling (which these days can be done over a phone even).
And if they are not seeing the scale move while undereating to this degree, the undereating itself could be causing internal damage which is resulting in water retention which is preventing the scale from moving while their internal organs get damaged... but you know... let's not call a
stop and interrupt this whole circle of madness or anything...
get your friend some help... and the help doesn't have to do with how to find ways to spend more calories.3 -

It would help if you'd reveal the general nature of the mystery, frankly.
If it's that the woman in question has not lost weight, the most probable answer is secret eating. Not a thing I have expertise or experience about. I've seen some studies that report exercise as helpful for stress reduction, others more skeptical. Similarly, anecdotally here, I've seen some people say that exercise helps them with depression/stress, and others say that it's not much help.
I think the evidence for exercise potentially reducing high blood pressure is stronger.0
