Are you an ice chewer?
When ever I get a fountain drink with ice, I ALWAYS chew the ice. It's why I don't mind if the cup is filled half with ice. Have never had an issue chewing ice. Crunchy with no calories.
Anyone else?

(...reads thread so far...) Since there was no mention of this being a disorder of some sort, I will admit to doing this.
My fav ice cube shapes are the one with a well/cut-out in the middle. The obnoxious crunching noises make me happy on a hot day.
See? No disorders here 😬3 -
I do if it is that fine, round, soft ice. I don't chew the large cubes though, my dentist frowns upon it.1

This was horrible and amazing at the same time. How did she just keep going? No tooth pain and no brain freeze. 🤯
I didn’t mind the crunches but the regular chewing was ruining my life.1 -
Yep I love ICEEEEEE0

🤔 "Hey Google! Can anemic people chew ice?"
(...and down the rabbit hole she went while looking curiously at her bottle of Novo-Ferrogluc...)
In all seriousness, while the human body - and all its mechanisms - remains amazing, I'm sorry you can't (obnoxiously) chew ice 😔1 -
I'm an ice-sucker. Is that as obnoxious as chewing? Maybe, when it gets too cold and you have to spit it back in your cup then start in again. I do prefer crushed ice but am not an ice-crusher maker owner so have to spend $ on it that I refuse to spend so don't use it often.1

My husband used to sell and service commercial ice machines.
He told me that when he'd go out on service calls, he was often shocked at the number of restaurants that were not properly cleaning their machines. He'd open them up to find mold and mildew in the water lines that fed the machine. He would re-train the owners on proper cleaning techniques, but he wasn't confident they'd do it.
So, if you're going to chew ice, make your own at home!5 -

😂 I got cured of that curiosity when I read The Jungle. Do you know it? It’s about the meat packing industry at the turn of the 20th century. I read it in junior high and it ruined so many things for me0 -

Until I turn vegan I stay away from all that enlightening slaughterhouse......enlightenment. I know there are videos too. Wasn't it enough to watch birthing videos in health class a million years ago and *still* have babies?2 -

Lol. Saw those birthing vids. I'm childless. There will be no procreation in this body in this lifetime, thank you.0 -
Yeah, we chewed ice as kids constantly (mainly cuz mum said no), but now that I have had my 4 $$$$ crowns replaced for the 2nd time... I'm afraid to bite into an apple.
I'll keep my $5,300 in my own pocket, thanks dentist with the 2nd boat.3 -
One of the worst sounds in the world!1

I am
Sonic ice is perfect.
I’ve been known to stab the straw into the ice, over and over filling it then sucking the ice out of the straw.
Then I tire of such small amounts and I use the straw to help me scoop and just eat it.
Edit: I don’t chew the ice unless I’m at home alone.0 -
To me hearing ice being chewed = fingernails on a chalkboard.
Non-chewer here.
