I overeat sweets when I don't get enough protein. It's like my wires are crossed and my brain thinks I want carbs (and fat) when I actually need protein. Being disciplined about meeting my protein goal helps quite a bit.
Upping fruit helps too. I simply cannot moderate pints of Ben & Jerry's, so I don't bring that into the house. However, I do have low fat Greek vanilla yogurt with fruit, which is pretty satisfying, for far less calories. I have fruit several times a day now.
I also make sure I hit my fiber goal. Berries are a high fiber fruit. I eat beans frequently. Caution - if you are currently low fiber, your digestive system will thank you if you increase fiber slowly2 -
