    Running through the hills
    I wonder why I do this...
    finding peace of mind?

    First up then back down,
    the elevation varies,
    but ends where it starts.

    Next time I will go
    farther than I went this time.
    But will I finish?

    Kids are born, they grow,
    one day to leave on their own:
    The circle of life.

    Nobody mentions
    the parents now left behind
    and waving farewell.

    Mother and father,
    she cries "my baby's leaving!"
    He feels naught but pride.

    As they walk inside,
    she worries for the safety
    of her firstborn son.

    Also lost in thought,
    the man wonders deep within:
    "What time is dinner?"
