Wolf Creek
Creep
The Shining
I like the more psychological type of horrors.
You probably haven't heard of Wolf Creek if you live outside of Australia - it's *very loosely* based on a serial killer here.
My other half hates horror films, the only way I can get to watch them with him is if I lie and tell him they're 'psychological thrillers'.0 -
The Ring was scary
Just went to see the Conjuring - I screamed a few times.
Lady in black scared the bejesus out of me!
I LOVE horror movies!!0 -
Psycho (Original)
Tucker and Dale vs Evil
Dead Snow
Shaun of the Dead (Not sure if this is horror, but it is about zombies)0 -
There was a movie about a murderous big rig truck, cant remember the title. And one about a tire.
Thankskilling is hilariously bad if you like intentionally bad movies.
^ I have the feeling you would enjoy Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead.0 -
The Evil Dead movies... cheesy but fun
Snow White - a tale of terror
American werewolf in London
Darkness
Dead Birds
The Fog - both versions
Ghost Ship
Haunted Echoes
Stir of Echoes (horror movies like to use echoes. lol)
Blood and Chocolate
Friday the 13th
Salem's Lot
Kill Katie Malone
Banshee
Shallow Grave
The Woman in Black - The original BBC film, not the new one with Daniel Radcliffe
IT
The Woods
The Dark
Honestly I've seen hundreds more good ones I just can't recall at the moment. Or i can think of the film and not the name of it. SO many films keep reusing "Dark" or "Haunting"..
Horror movies are my favorite. lol
edited because I keep thinking of more...0 -

^How did I forget The Shining! That one gave me nightmares. I loved it!0 -
Alien. One of the best horror films made in my opinion other than the classics. It was an amazing horror movie that just happened to be in space. Great pacing and great susppense.0

The one with Dennis Weaver driving a little Plymouth and the truck keeps trying to run him down? Duel. First scary movie I saw when I was little.
"IT" scared me, as did the Hellraiser movies. One that made me holler out loud, though, was Ghost Ship.0 -
silence of the lambs and the original night of the living dead. I do special effects makeup, horror movies have been a way of life for me since I can remember. When I was 6 none of my friends ever wanted to stay over because I had horror posters and masks all over my bedroom, now that I'm an adult with children, my kids are following in my footsteps! I hear other parents complain their kid sleeps in their bed because they're afraid of the boogeyman, I just laugh!! My kids know the boogeyman is latex and paint, they've never done that to us a night in their lives!!
As for "newer" stuff, I enjoyed insidious, and am looking forward to the sequel.0 -
Frailty, The Evil Dead.0
-
I love the original Halloween. Also Pet Sematary 1 and 2. They used to scare the crap out of me when I was younger.
Also, I love Christine because it is cheesy.0 -
maximum overdrive
cujo
hell night
ghoulies
classic 80s moves and i'm not even a fan of scary movies0 -
I said Alien in an earlier post, but let me add:
Near Dark
Lost Boys
Monster Squad
None are scary, but have vampires that don't sparkle... And Wolfman with nards0 -

The one about the tire is called "Rubber". The tire's name is Robert. I freakin' love that movie
I have a collection of hundreds of scary movies. Love Love Love them! As a previous poster mentioned, Dead Birds was a good one. And Wolf Creek is cringe-worthy! The Broken is awesome - my 13 year old figured that one out before me - unheard of! I also really like the story line of The Darkroom. A few more of my favorites:
Captivity
Hunger
Road Kill
Acolytes
Ashes
Breaking Dawn (not the vampire one. this is about a psych student)
Rogue
Bereavement
Raw: Night of the Wolf
Heartless
OMGoodness - an awesome one is Cyrus: Mind of a Serial Killer. It's so good...and it was filmed just 20 minutes from where I live0 -
I loved Cabin in the Woods.
The Hills Have Eyes (remake) gave me nightmares for weeks after the eviscerated dog, and rape scenes.0 -
The Entity-about ghost rape. Is there anything worse??0
-
Summer's Moon is creepy. It has scary parts but it's more creepy than anything.0
-
Horror movie buff right here! Also a glutton for punishment because they scare me but I love it.
This scene from the original Evil Dead always creeps me out every single time I watch it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRfm8EZIYOw

Phew...I could go on. Is there any other better genre than horror? IMO nope!0 -
People under the stairs. I was...13 maybe? Nightmares for days.
Not sure if it's still scary; too freaked out to ever watch it again.0 -
My dad's girlfriend loved B-grade horror, so I hate the genre, but I've seen all three Basket Case movies & all eleventy (not really, but I think there were 5 or 6?) Puppet Master movies because of her & I'm still freaked out by them. :frown:
I did like House of 1000 Corpses & The Devil's Rejects, though. :drinker:0
