Hi I'm Jeff,

I have been lifting weights, doing cardio, and MMA. I just recently discovered that you can compute your calorie intake by using food weighing scale. I am planning to use the app to monitor my calorie intake. You can buy food weighing scale also and search on google the calories/gram of the food you intake. I am on a calorie defecit now for cutting. This video is a simple tutorial I had found if you don't know how to using food weighing scale: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--l6KlN_H_I

    Hi, Jeff. Welcome to MFP.

If you’re looking for info on cutting and body building you may find the threads in this area helpful (don’t be misled by the url):

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/categories/goal-gaining-weight

This is also a good thread:

    https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10177803/recomposition-maintaining-weight-while-losing-fat

And sorry someone marked your post as spam. We’ve had an issue with some guy spamming the boards with disguised ads for another app. I skimmed through the YouTube you posted and it’s just an explanation of using MFP and a scale.

My best tip is to verify the accuracy of the entry you are using, since all entries are crowdsourced. I caught my husband innocently using a generic entry of “fajitas 300 calories” for a giant restaurant platter the other night. (He’s still learning the app.) There’s a lot of stuff like that on here, including my favorite, which was a whole chocolate cake for 50 calories. If only.

    Best of success to you.
