/ Mowed grass / DGS 5-year birthday celebrations finally over after last night. I gave him a “big boy” fishing rod and reel. 😊 He is a sweet curious boy.
5/18: 217
/ a little bit of hauling part of folks “collection” out to the dumpster. I am always amazed whether cleaning my own desk, or cleaning my own house, how much worthless chaff I find that I held on to. For this reason, I am not criticizing my parents. / Big bowl of ice cream last night did not help the cause. Helped my parents sell their nice dining room table!
5/19: 216
/ more hauling. Repeated trips out of the basement. A person could get fit doing this every day. I have a desk job. / Pretty easy choices instead of good choices for meals.
5/20: 217
/ more hauling / missed a repeat of 216 by “this much.” I believe I am quoting Maxwell Smart, as he holds his index finger and thumb a fraction apart.
5/21: 215
5/22: 216
/ yes, more hauling and cleaning. / Some poor meal choices, based on quickness…
5/23: 215
/ Fishing aboard the Kraken. Harder work than it may seem /
5/24: 215
/ Climbing up on parents roof to remove small branches and maple seeds. If nothing else, my heart rate was elevated too. /
5/25: 215
/ Grass mowing / I can’t say that I mind hovering at this weight for a few days. At least I am not flirting with 220. Parent’s house is on the market. Now we are looking for that right person to buy it. Someone who can see a diamond in the rough. 😊

I like to track averages due to my wild fluctuations. For the same reason, I like to weigh daily so I can see the lows from time to time. It gives me hope.7 -

Day/Weight/Comment
5/17 - day 1 again. Feeling optimistic. Joined this app again after being inactive for two years. Food planned for the day, hope to stay put.
5/18- Morning mood: woke up feeling energetic and happy. I haven't had a good day in terms of healthy choices and self discipline in ages. Determined to make it to a streak of 2. End of day: Had a good day overall but felt hungry at times. In the evening, I almost gave in to the late evening snack monster, but ended up having a few hazelnuts instead.
5/19 - Morning: Feeling really hopeful and determined to keep this streak up for as long as I can. I've forgotten how much tracking helps. I've organized my meals for the day and hope for the best. With the weekend ahead I feel very grateful for this head start.
5/20 - Almost didn't check in today because of lack of time at work. Thankfully, I thought it over and realized it took me just 3 minutes to log in, log my food and write these lines. Made me feel so much better. Meeting a friend for a drink tonight, so I'm nervous about my choices, especially with the weekend around the corner. But with this new-found confidence, I hope I can make it.
5/21 weigh-in this morning 73,7! Finally starting to feel like myself again, less bloated and feeling full all the time. I also just realized that I made it half way through this challenge quite easily. Definitely joining the next one. Anyway, the dreaded weekend is here. I have a dinner party tonight and a children's birthday party tomorrow morning. Thankfully the friend who is cooking tonight is into healthy food and usually doesn't go overboard but I'm still very nervous. If anyone is reading this and has any tips, they're greatly appreciated.
5/22 so last night didn't go very well foodwise. The scale showed an increase, which is understandable, so today at the birthday party I need to be extra careful.Still determined to make it through this challenge, so that's something at least.
5/23 Yesterday was not a very good day. I did keep on track at the birthday party but came home and gave in to the takeaway ordered by hubby and son. No use beating myself up over it though, just started fresh this morning. Decided not to weigh in till the end of this challenge to keep myself hoping for more loss.
5/24 Getting back on track. Monday was a good day and I'm feeling motivated and determined again! This challenge is really helping me too.
5/25 Feeling bloated because of time of month but not giving up. Having a great day foodwise so far, so I'm hoping I'll see a difference in a couple of days.

5/17 233.4 Stressful week continues. Will try to post as best I can the rest of the week. I have meals planned for the entire week and we’ll see what happens. Happy to see a new low today!
5/18 234.6 Unsurprising. Ate dinner late yesterday, didn’t get enough sleep, stress, blah blah blah. In the office today so will get plenty of steps in and headed to the gym after work to let some of the stress out.
5/19 234.4 Didn’t post because I was running an all-day work meeting and it seems like all I did was run!
5/20 234.0 Yesterday was a success but I’d forgotten how exhausting it is to be around people all the time! 😊 I’m back in my home office now and ready for a quiet day. Going to a hockey watch party tonight but I’ll do my best to make good choices.
5/21 234.4

5/23 233.4 Bouncing all around this area for a while now. Ready for another drop but I know it will come if I keep doing the work. Had a great weekend and now back to the metaphorical grindstone.
5/24 232.8 I’ll take that. Just finalized plans for a cruise this fall with friends so now I have even more to work towards!
5/25 232.0 Yesterday was a good day. Didn’t get a workout in but made a new pork chop recipe that everyone really liked for dinner. Meeting a friend for lunch today so that may be tricky, but I’m headed to look at the menu now. Dinner is leftovers from earlier in the week, so that’s easy to track.

Day/Weight/Comment
5/17: 132.5 - I’m right in the middle of my maintenance range for the first time. Normal workout and lots of housework yesterday. Pretty much ate the same things as the day before but drank more water. Good sleep for once.
5/18: 132.3 - Normal workouts, eating and sleep. Need to try and get more protein in my diet though and work on macros.
5/19: 132.5 - Normal workouts. I changed my calorie goals back to maintenance and ate back a large portion of my exercise calories yesterday. Still didn’t hit my protein goals, but percentage-wise was spot on. Good sleep.
5/20: 132.3 - Normal workouts but didn’t have dinner until almost 8 pm. We were enjoying the beautiful warm weather with “Drinks on the Driveway” with our neighbors and had a number stop by that normally don’t. Good to catch up with them.
5/21: 132.3 - Normal workout. Still need to focus on how much sleep I’m getting. Last few nights I’ve stayed up too late.
5/22: 132.7 - Normal workout. Ate the same as yesterday and got 8+ hours of sleep for the first time in a long time!
5/23: 132.5 - Normal workouts and protein heavyish eating, which means for me I met my protein macros - something that I have a hard time doing. Good sleep. I’m still trying to figure my way around the world of maintenance.
5/24: 132.3 - Got my workouts in early to avoid the heat. Had a very carb-heavy dinner (Crispy Rice Bowl with Sweet Potatoes and Herby Tahini) and was too full to get my usual post-dinner greek yogurt in, which is one of my main sources of protein.
5/25: 132.1 - Another hot day yesterday, so all workouts were completed in the morning. For dinner, decided to do a panzanella salad with roasted peppers and onions so that any cooking that needed to be done would be on the grill. Even though I think I logged it accurately (or close enough), I felt so full from all of the bread, which made me think I was way over calories. Nope, even with my treats afterwords, still had lots of exercise calories to spare. Today promises to be another hot day so will get my day going with my workouts.

17: DNW 🥚
18: DNW 🥚I missed several rounds, but I'm back and glad it wasn't more rounds. Yesterday, I bought a Nordictrack elliptical off Marketplace for $20! The day before, I picked up a free Gold's Gym elliptical. Now, we have one for each house, and I can cancel my gym membership since it's the only thing I ever really used anyway. I'm very excited to not have to commute to access my preferred exercise method, especially since my house is 15 miles away from the gym and my bf's is about 30.
I know I've gained weight through this process of trying to adjust to living between two homes. I'm not sure how much, since I haven't been weighing. I'm guessing it's 10-15 pounds, but I suspect about half of that will come off fairly quickly. While I've been gaining from eating less healthy and not exercising as much, my bf has been losing weight from eating better than he used to! How's that for compromise? 🤣
I'm REALLY looking forward to getting back on track again. Going to get on my elliptical right now!
19: 200.9 🥚 10 pounds it is. Incremental goals reassessed. Getting on elliptical for third consecutive day after I get my kids to school.
20: 201.9 Wrong direction! My eating window ran a bit later than usual, but I weighed at the same time this morning. Will still complete 16 hour fast. Heading to bf's later today, and I'm taking my scale with me. Not sure if it's a great idea to be moving it back and forth every week, but not weighing for a week at a time definitely isn't working for me.
21: 202.3 Not sure what's going on. Maybe traveling with the scale. Maybe not enough water yesterday. Also took a rest day, after 3 days on elliptical. So far, food and water today are good.
22: 201.3
23: 201.1
24: 196.9 This episode of "Back to Onderland" brought to you by Sugar-free Twizzlers. Maltitol is NOT my friend, at least not as the primary ingredient when I'm having a sugar craving. I ate said Twizzlers between 3:00 and 4:00 yesterday, and within 2 hours I had severe abdominal cramping and needed a bathroom asap...while I was at my son's regional track meet. 🤦🏽 Needless to say, the next several hours were pretty miserable. At least I can laugh about it now, I guess. Tomorrow's weight will likely be up a little, since this whoosh was caused by a combination of gastrointestinal issues and involuntarily starting my fasting about 4 hours early.
25: 198.3 Still under 200, so I'll take this as a win! I won't be seeing 195 tomorrow, but maybe within the next few days if I can celebrate in moderation. Tonight is a potluck for my daughter's 8th grade class and their parents. Friday is their graduation. Saturday is my bf's birthday party that his daughter is organizing. I feel like I'm more motivated to stay on track with my food when I'm able to exercise consistently, so having the elliptical at home is a major bonus.

I did a bit better yesterday/last night, but definitely a work in progress. Off to teach a doggy obedience class, then home to work more in my garden. I spend three hours yesterday manually edging a bed, digging out heavy clay. Definitely weight training!
5/18 - 181
Stayed within calories yesterday, and got lots of “real life” exercise—3 hours of dog training & teaching an obedience class + two hours digging out more garden border and planting a few seedlings. It’s rainy today, but I got a bit of garden time between rains.
5/19 - 181
Went way over with cheese yesterday—wonderful sharp white cheddar. Oh, well. Back on track today.
5/20 - 180.8
Off to stock up on veggies for salads and soup, then back to the garden. I have a bunch of seedlings to get into the ground—zinnias, cosmos, nasturtiums, sunflowers, more. Will be colorful! Happy Friday, all!
5/21 - 181
Calories good, salt a bit high.
5/22 - 180.8
Soup day, and I’m trying to decide what to make. Decisions, decisions…. Enjoy your Sunday, all!
5/23 - 181
I had a really good, on-target day yesterday and hoped for a loss. Oh, well!
5/24 - 180.6
Boy, this round has flown by!
5/25 - 180.4
Ok, trending downward at least. I really need to do something about my macros—I need more protein, less fat, or at least less animal fat (ok, butter & cheese!). I’m going to make a big pot of veggie soup for my lunches and, possibly, evening snacks when I’m hungry, in place of popcorn and/or ice cream. I figure soup is filling and satisfying, and low calorie with good fiber. When it gets hot, it’ll be gazpacho. And we’re thinking new car for me—hatchback or minivan with room for Rory’s dog crate, which is currently crammed into my little Prizm. So today is “reorganize the garage day” to see what will fit. Out garage is small, so organization is the watchword. Doesn’t that sound like fun?

05/23 …..204.8 ….. (Trend weight 203.1) This doesn’t make any sense whatsoever, but I won’t make excuses. Some travel yesterday but I was there and back in about 4 hours so no meal out was necessary.
05/24 …..204.4 ….. (Trend weight 203.2) My son and I were out of town for dental cleanings yesterday. A problem area in the gums is now turning into a root canal. I go back in June. Dinner was out so I am surprised to see a drop on the scale. We’ll see what the next few days hold. Today is a 3 hour appointment for my hair. Something new for me. Low-lights (instead of hi-lights). We are working around the previous cancer treatments and current cancer pill damages. We are also incorporating some gray throughout to match my roots. Getting old is hell LOL. Because of the long time in the car and the dentist chair, I danced to 5 songs last night and I am proud of myself for that. I didn’t do them all at once due to the difficulty breathing with the heart issue, but I scattered them about half hour apart. I also took a small walk (5 minutes) when I got home on my cul-de-sac. It’s the part of my street with the least amount of incline due to breathing. It felt so good. I’m going to try to fit it in several times per day this summer.
05/25 …..203.2 ….. (Trend weight 203.2) Meals were good and spaced out nicely thanks to the long hair appointment. Snacks last night not so good. Ate all my emotions. The handyman who was working on my kitchen called me last night and quit because he got a really good job call he’d applied for months ago. I can’t say I blame him. I get it. In this rural area jobs are tough to find, especially for men. But Now what? Mini-Donuts do not fix the problem folks and I need to remember that! I justified it by drinking them with water instead of milk. Who am I fooling? Just keeping it honest here and I hope someone will get something, maybe some strength or resolve today when they want to grab a no-no. At this point it’s all I can add. The truth of overweight and spiraling out of control at times. I promise, I will inspire again as I gain my own strength and resolve back!

05/17 - 176.7 - 13,200 steps and 75 minutes. Well SO got called back to work, what a week I ordered a cake from a bakery and had to change the pickup date. Then I thought he was leaving this afternoon and I would be stuck with a whole cake, but he wiggled in an extra day home. Good news as we had planned a dinner out with some of the family to celebrate both his birthday and paying off our mortgage!! Hooray we are debt free!! Will celebrate with a bottle of wine! Calories are up and activity is down but that's ok as I'm spending time with my Love.
05/18 - 177.1- 13,800 and 92. Steps and minutes good, well over on calories but dinner was amazing with a pretty gin sour and glass of wine. I did box up some of my dinner and only had a small piece of birthday cake, usually I would have ate way more appies and all of my dinner. So I was technically somewhat mindful. I did have a great evening and I WILL get right back to my goals. SO left for work this morning so I'll have some of my leftovers tonight and eat light the next couple of days, plus a good walk in the evenings!
05/19 - 177.7 - 14,700 and 80. Huge wind storm here yesterday. Power was out at work, roads were full of trees, debris and a even a car shelter. Didn't take my 2nd walk but got extra steps in at work and the grocery store was closed so lunch today isn't the best. The scale number isn't so bad, I did have my dinner leftovers for lunch so a little more sodium then usual. It'll get back in line ... soon. This morning the sun is shining so I'm looking forward to a better day.
05/20 - 175.9 - 20,700 and 136. Yay!! Seeing that 5 again. SO should be home late tonight ... The scales going to be a rollercoaster!!
05/21 - 176.3. - 18,700 and 128. Dinner out with wine. The sun has shown up.
05/22 - 176.6 - 13,300 and 68. Long drive and a late night walk to get my steps in. Spent some time with GS, mostly outside in the sun and another unplanned dinner. Rollercoaster. SO is leaving for work in the morning so a good push again to see that 5. Great few days though.
05/23 - 177.2 - 18,800 and 114. Seen the GS had another over calories dinner with wine but did get a good walk in. SO is off to work for at least 2 weeks so I will get back on track with that. Should have another whoosh soon and hopefully TMI happens soon. The last few days have been really busy, need to catch up on reading all your posts. Hope you are all doing well!
05/24 - 175.5* - 19,000/131 Worked Monday got 2 walks in and some TMI worked in my favor. Which is good as I had some undocumented unweighted handfulS of granola before bed. Dinner was unorganized with some late cooking of chicken and some leftover homemade bean salad.
05/25 - 175.3 * - 19,800/128. Got my 2 walks in although I had to drag myself out of the house.

5/17 / 167 / Two day work conference is a wrap! Back to regular work tomorrow. I rode the Peloton for 60 minutes this evening and got a PR. Nice feeling.
5/18 / 165.4 / Had a nonstop day as we had an out of town family member in that had never been to Alberta before so we took him out for a quick trip to the mountains and back. Bed time now!
5/19 / 165.6 / Had a good day at work that included two coffee meetings and a lunch with my husband. Supper tonight was delicious and it was cold and rainy so we stayed in and watched some TV with my Mom. I rode the Peloton before a hot shower and got a new 30 minute PR.
5/20 / 163.2 / The Victoria Day long weekend is almost upon us. We are going up to the lake after work and will be there until Monday. There is a walk and shop event at our trailer, we are getting our dog groomed, and we hope to get our boat in the water. Lots of fun ahead!
5/21 / 162 / We were up early today to take our dog for grooming. Had a nice breakfast in the city and then came back to our trailer for the walk and shop event. Got a good number of steps. We are having BBQ tonight.
5/22 / 163.2 / Beautiful day here. My husband made an epic breakfast, and we're working on getting our pontoon boat in the water today. Life is good!
5/23 / 162.8 / Holiday here in Canada so we are looking forward to another day of fun in the sun!
5/24 / 164.8 / Busy day back at the office and then I had an after hours issue as well. Luckily it cropped up while I was on the Peloton so I got my workout in before I dealt with it! Had a good day for steps too so that is great.
5/25 / 164.6 / Had lunch at work with my husband today and was happy with my grilled salmon salad selection. Tonight I am meeting a friend for a beer or two but will walk there and back.

I have about 26 kg to lose. I use tape measurements (cm) because they aren't affected by salt intake. My weight has been dropping for 2 months now. Apparently I've been trying to lose weight since September 2012, the last time I was at goal weight. Let's see if stopping eating sugary food is going to change things.

How this round went: my eating is improving but I'm still eating more than I could be, especially at the start of the round. I only did two runs (4 and 6 minutes), and no days without sugar. My weight has dropped quite a bit this round but I don't know if it's a 'whoosh' or just going without salt for many days. Let's see when I have a salty meal. I'm bumping up my weight loss to 40 grams a day which means goal weight in 21 months.3 -

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

5/18 368.2 6028 At the office today. I got in a good walk yesterday and I will get my steps in today.
5/19 364.6 9606 Happy dance out of the red. I got over 9500 steps in yesterday! I was too pooped to get 10,000. When I got home, I microwaved some popcorn and went straight to be and got in over 7 hours of sleep. Stayed on track today.
5/20 364.2 3259 It has been a long time since I have had a weight loss 2 days in a row. Most times it takes 2-3 days for me to drop. I am going to shoot for at least 5000 steps today.
5/21 364.2 3982 Got in a lot of steps today running errands. Eating OK, not the best.
5/22 362.8 8118 The steps paid off! I was still within calories. Had some good calories and bad calories. I hope I can stick a weekend loss and round weight loss goal. Today I will be on plan. Planning a workout.
5/23 362.8 4542 In the office today. A co-worker noticed I am losing weight. That made me feel great! In April someone at Congregation noticed. It helps me stay the course. I will hit my 6000 steps today and be under calories. I was over calories yesterday for sure but I logged it all!
5/24 361.4 6062 On track today. I am going to shoot for getting in 5000 steps today. On track calorie wise. Not enough veggies. I had sweet potatoes and lima beans. I am never sure if beans and sweet potatoes count as veggies. But I am working on getting in more veggie’s different colors, etc.
5/25 361.4 5123 Good day yesterday. At the office.

In 2005 Weighed under 400 lbs.
In 2007 lowest weight after surgery 302lbs
I joined MFP on March 27, 2010, weighing in at 388 pounds. I was re-gaining weight and stumbled up on it while trying to get back on track. I was determined never to see 400+ on that scale again for me.
I have been morbidly obese all my life. I have a lifetime of mental and physical scars from obesity. In October 2004 I had Gastric Bypass surgery. WLS (Weight Loss Surgery) was the best gift that I could and did give to myself.
Between 2008 and 2010 I gradually gained back 80 of almost 300 pounds lost initially after weight loss surgery. I never reached my goal weight of 200 pounds. I still managed to keep off over 65 percent of the weight I lost which is very good and I am very proud of my accomplishments since 2004. It has literally changed my life for the better on all levels. I am here to lose re-gained weight and to reach my initial goal weight. I am in no hurry. I am taking this one day at a time and I am in it for the long haul.
Surgery did not fix the head. It is a good tool and the best gift I have given to myself, but it was not the easy way out as many people think. Once the honeymoon period is over after the WLS it is up to the patient to keep the weight off.
On August 29, 2011-- I was admitted to Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Program to learn how to manage my binge eating disorder effectively. The program is wonderful indeed and will be instrumental in me reaching all of my goals. The focus of this program was how to eat and not diet. Weight loss was not a goal of the program. I gained 20 pounds in program. But I had to get thru a lot of stuff and the time I was released I had stopped gaining. I was discharged from program on December 3, 2011.
My tool is still working for me today. My head is still the issue. SO, the struggle continues. I will never beat myself up again. I fight the fine fight faithfully and positively every day. Because that is what will get me to my goals one day. Even though it may not show up on the scale every day -- Every day I make progress one way or another just by showing up, waking up and trying.
Giving up is not an option for me. Perseverance, Patience, & Positive thinking will help me reach my goals…… and the same is true for you too!! We have the power within us.7 -

Round 187 ( my 119th). Thanks @QuiltingJaine.
Just want to stick with it !!Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back under 130. A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.SW: 136.4

Day/Weight/Comment
5/17 136.4 – DS wedding day. Yesterday we travelled up to Sheffield to help with preparations particularly in their garden for the reception, tent & gazebo erected, bunting hung, afternoon tea stands constructed etc. Today we get their house early to help with last minute preps. & look after the little ones whilst the bride has her hair & make up done etc. And the sun is shining, the sky is blue. Report back later tomorrow.
5/18 136.4 – Yesterday was a wonderful day, youngest DGD (11 months) led her DS (aged 3), bride & bride's DF down the aisle pushing her walker festooned with flowers – she stole the show!! Bride looked stunning & DS so handsome – he has lost 2 stone for this day!! The whole day went very smoothly and was laid back just as they wanted, everyone had a brilliant day. So lovely to have DIL finally officially “part of our family” even though she has been our 2nd DD for a decade or so. Today it was back to their house to help take tent & gazebo down & last tidying up after they had all left for their honeymoon (DGDs too) down to Cornwall, and then we travelled back home.
5/19 137.8 – not surprised really as I enjoyed the day!! Child minding little DGS today.
5/20 137.8 – 8.51 miles walked all pushing little DGS in his buggy. Food was not good though .
5/21 137.2 – 4.19 miles recorded, yesterday I started a new seasonal job; exam invigilator at a local secondary school. I am disappointed that my Fitbit does not seem to seem to count the slow gentle quiet steps during the 2.5 hour exam!! Maybe next week I'll try strapping it to my ankle? Food was good all day until we had a delicious piece of wedding cake made by DIL, should have had a slither not a chunk !!!
5/22 137.6 – wedding cake from Friday caught up with me? 12.1 miles walked, three quarters of exercise calories eaten back. Feel more “in the zone”.
5/23 138.2 – 9.39 miles walked, two thirds exercise calories eaten back.
5/24 138.8 – 6.88 miles walked.
5/25 139.4 – 7.01 miles walked all exercise calories eaten back.
5/26 138.4 – 5.15 miles walked, all exercise calories eaten back. 2 pounds up this round, still struggling to get back to maintenance level.

The “boys”, AKA the cats, Harry and Han Solo, are going to get tracked once per round as well. Maybe this way I will not keep losing my data for them

Cats: Harry 10 lb 14.0 oz; Han Solo 11lb 11.5 oz
5/17 – 137.8 Man, I am just struggling to get my act together. I am not sure I ever even managed to post during round 186. So at least, here is a post. I am going to try and post each day for this round, and honestly track. fingers crossed!!
5/18 – 137.2 Yesterday, I made it through the day calorically. Tracked in full. Could not coordinate exercise, which I need to fix. Then, in the evening, new stressors hit. I should have used that as exercise impetus, but instead it meant I got into cheese and crackers that were not tracked. Shocked I went down. Today is looking good. Will try and keep “my eye in the prize”!
5/19 – 136.6 Actually did a good day! Calories all on track, and somehow I closed all my apple rings without official exercise.
5/20 – 135.6 Yay for me! Ok, still not formal exercise, but I avoided bad food choices for two days in a row. Last night was also “lazy night” ie subs for dinner. As a study, I disassembled the sub and weighed the total, then the bread, and estimated each of the components. (Yes, I reassembled before eating. ) I then tracked it and saved on MFP as a meal.
5/21 – 135.6 Even with yesterday. I finally exercised again! Yes, it was only walking, but I have done nothing since leaving Florida three weeks ago. Got out again this morning before writing this check-in. I need to establish the habit again like I had a year ago. Tracking and food choices are good enough. I won’t weigh what I hoped to for nephew’s wedding, but that’s life. More importantly, I need to do my exercise and eat healthfully to get my health markers back on track. Last fall’s rapid, stress-induced weight gain combined with no exercise gave me some concerning numbers. Gotta focus on the long run!!
5/22 – 137.4 Yup, day was good. Got exercise. Fully tracked. Made good choices, but then was 14 calories over. So that gave me free rein to go much more over. Lots of salt and carbs involved, so even though there were calories involved, I expect much of the up will flush out relatively quickly.
5/23 – 137.2 As Brittney Spears would say, oops I did it again!
5/24 – DNW Got distracted due to early morning contractors arriving. Just glad I was dressed before they got here. :P Anyhow, yesterday was good. Exercise was not formal, but I closed all my rings. Tracking and calories were spot on. Today, no exercise, but I blame my hubby a bit for that. I am supposed to be ready at any minute to drop off the car for service, but then he goes off to read his newspaper. I wish he would just communicate a bit better so we can equally use our days effectively.
5/25 – 134.4 Pleasant surprise which is much needed. While packing to go to my nieces’s wedding, I have noticed how lacking my wardrobe has become over these last few years. The causes are varied and don’t matter, but it led me to try and do an emergency mini shopping run. Ouch! While IMO, my scale number is not awful (though I want better), I think I am finally seeing the damaging effects of menopause. I am at about 14 years in already. No waist and lots of muffin topping. needless to say, I came home with nothing. I'll go shopping again in a month. For now, I am going to get through this travel and wedding, with as little damage as possible (we have lots of fun plans ), then I want to get to start strategizing body composition. I leave tomorrow morning right after my last weigh-in for this round.
5/26 – 135.6 Last weigh-in done. 2.2 lb lower than day one, but higher than yesterday. I leave for the airport in an hour to fly 6+ hours to family wedding. I will not have a scale for the next three days. Will try and make best choices but this will be challenging. Regardless, need to just get back on track on Monday.10 -

Day/Weight/Comment
5/17 172.4 Had a good day yesterday, so I’m starting this round off at a favorite weight of my body. It really likes it here. The goal is to just be below this somewhere at the end of the round!
5/18 173.2
5/19 172.4
5/20 no scales
5/21 no scales
5/22 no scales
5/23 174.8 Knew this would not be good this morning. I have got to do a better job focusing on my health when I am away from home, especially when I’m with my Dad. I try to get weight ON him, but it goes on me instead!
5/24 174.4 Headed back in the right direction. Hope to be back where I started by the 26th. Fingers crossed.
5/25 172.8 Almost there. Ended up eating out twice yesterday, but chose wisely and ended up with a nice loss. Got in lots of walking yesterday both at work and after.
5/26 172.2 WooHoo! After the gain I had in the middle of the round, I’m happy with this! Now, to do better on my weekend with my Dad and granddaughter than last weekend.10 -

5/26 - 151.8 - So, our internet was down yesterday morning from the huge storm that blew through and I hadn't realized it. Explains why my scale wouldn't sync. I reset it this morning and was able to get yesterday's weight properly updated. Glad my efforts yesterday (or lack thereof) paid off with a loss. I did enjoy a slice of cake for a retirement party but chose the smallest slice and savored every tiny bite, refusing to return for more. Unexpected/unplanned indulgence, but it worked out in the end. Today is overnight oats for breakfast, bbq grilled chicken thigh with corn and baked beans for lunch, and dinner is yet unknown. I have 2 kiwis and/or an apple for snack. Plus, my stash of salmon packets for protein if I need a little more substantial snack. Got a set of 10 each squats and pushups yesterday and aiming for more of that today. Ended up having to stay late at work which cut into my sleep (didn't get home until my bedtime and still had to eat, pack lunch, and get my things settled for this morning). Feeling quite tired today but will try to keep moving to keep myself awake if nothing else. We have a trip starting June 15th at the beach so I need to kick it in high gear to get back to fitting in my swimsuit properly!
Previous Day's Comments5/17 - Virtual chat with doc today. She said she's had minimum 3 patients within the last week with the flu and all of them have almost identical symptoms as me. I'm on her orders to stay home from work until Monday to avoid being contagious around others outside the household (which can't be helped). I'm feeling better today, mainly this afternoon. Finally able to eat something other than broth for lunch/afternoon snack. Not near enough food, but muuuuuch better than yesterday. Giving my poor body energy to fight is important but trying to keep it down is more important. Yesterday and this morning was tiny sips of water and barely over 30oz. A little better this afternoon, can take bigger sips more frequently without nausea. TMI is iffy, but that may be from the illness OR from dehydration (it's a thing with me as I've learned in this group over time!) or both. I'm not going to weigh until I feel a little more back to normal, especially regarding water intake vs salty broth intake (the bloat is reaaaaaaal over here). But I needed nutrients however I could get them and keep them in my system so I'm not even mad about it and that's more important than how I look. Fatigue isn't as bad as yesterday, but still a tad bit there. I've been feeling warmer than I normally do (not curled up with a hoodie and blanket but in just a tshirt and no blanket. Very unusual for me). In the last hour or two I've finally started feeling my normal cold and I'm content in a hoodie (but no blanket yet so still elevated temp feeling). Doc thinks I'm on the recovery side of it, thankfully, so I'm going to chug along with caring for my body and doing what it needs for recovery vs needs to lose weight/gain muscle. On a happier note, I have an initial interview on Thursday (hopefully I'll be recovered enough by then) for a remote job. Need to email the local one I really want to see if there's any update.
5/18 - I'm feeling a bit better. Now it's the same symptoms of dehydration, which it very likely is. I do have a little fatigue, but better every day so far. I've had breakfast already and no cramping or nausea so much improvement there. All the fuel for my body to fight this illness off! Chugging down water and think, as long as I don't start to feel worse, I'll hit my 90oz again today. BF got notified he moved on to interview #1 for the screening interview he had last week. He also had a screening interview this morning for another job. (both these jobs have screening, interview #1, interview #2. Must pass each one to move on to next). My interview tomorrow is just a screening interview, I'm not terribly worried about that one. It's remote, so it's an improvement, but it's not my "ideal" job. We shall see how it goes. Emailed the job I really wanted for the county and the HR lady is out of office until Monday so I imagine I won't hear anything until then since almost everything goes through HR (she does have an assistant, but I haven't communicated with said assistant previously). They've been looking for someone for this position for 3 years and I've gotten the furthest apparently. Wish I knew about it when I moved down here! Apparently they hadn't kept the posting up and that explains why I didn't see it when looking for jobs to move to Texas in the first place. This round was posted only 19 days ago. Ahhh, waiting game.
5/19 - Feeling better today. Took the kiddo to school so BF could shower, shave, and get what I call "man-pretty" for his interview. Found out last night, he completely skipped over Interview #1. This is it. This interview (he's currently doing) will determine if he gets a job or not. He said it could take a month or two to find out. He also has a pre-screening interview this afternoon as well. I'm all prettied up for my interview (by pretty I mean I put on clothes that make me feel like I'm in a real interview) but it's only a phone call. Sometimes you just have to get ALL the way ready to really get in the mood and with me not feeling 100% quiiiite yet, I'm using every trick under the sun. Plan on using a power pose (think Superwoman pose: fists on hips, chest and chin held high and confident) to help get those feelings flowing through me as well. Also emailed a follow up for the local county job but the HR lady is out of office until Monday according to her auto-reply. All the things happening in this household! Hopefully some good news for both of us coming soon. Also hoping this fatigue fades before I have to resume commuting to current job. Anxiety about that is really hitting me, despite having 3 more days, plus rest of today, to recover and get rested. Also hoping tomorrow I'll feel good enough to weigh in and see where I'm at. Had normal dinner yesterday as well as my ham, cheese, spinach quiche for breakfast with no issue. I wouldn't be shocked or angry if I'm up. I know I may still be retaining water and that's okay. Body was in survival mode. Water was good yesterday and today I'm on track to get my 90oz as well.
5/20 - DNP
5/21 - DNP
5/22 - DNP
5/23 - I'm not mad about it. Went to the river to get some sun and fresh air. It was super relaxed. FamWife had lasagna pre-made before we left so only had to pop it in the oven when we got home. Between being in the sun and not being able to keep up with water quite as well as I'd like (though better than most lake/river days) plus heavy lasagna for dinner, this weight is a pleasant surprise. I do feel better. Slight fatigue, but I spent a week sleeping and suddenly waking up at 3am again might be a factor. Still a tad bit of brain fog, but again the sudden 3am wakeup could factor in. BF dealing with fatigue only, but seems to be on the mend (hence river trip). I have bbq chicken drumstick with collard greens and homemade mashed potatoes for lunch today. Back to my overnight oats for breakfast. Now to catch up on a week's worth of emails, aaaaaah!
5/24 - That's a pleasant surprise. I was very hungry yesterday. I ate almost all of my lunch (it was a very large portion) and almost all of my dinner (BF likes to pile the butter noodles high, but I left some of those on the plate). Grandparents got hit by tornado either Sunday night or Monday morning, but they're okay. Got the news (finally) right as I went to bed which caused a spike in anxiety. Did fall asleep but much later than I wanted. I have an energy packet (the all natural kind with loads of vitamins. It does seem to help on days like today when I'm exhausted and it's gloomy and stormy and absolutely perfect sleeping weather). Hopefully it'll give me enough energy to knock out a few body weight moves for "exercise" though it's not a proper workout. Focus is to get more movement in general, I'm feeling very weak lately not having worked out properly in so long. Found out BF has to work Saturday so I have to go get the other two kiddos for summer. BigBro's last day is Thursday and he will start working full time (he's been wanting that). Found out my county job is planning on scheduling an interview very soon. I have my remote job interview on Friday. Fingers crossed one of them at least ends in an offer so I can enjoy summer with kids a little more (only seeing them Friday-midday Sunday isn't fun. Plus they're loud and my sleep is severely reduced when they're home because of the extra noise to try to sleep through. Worth it, I love having them around!)
5/25 - I actually did weigh, about 3 times, but my scale refused to sync any of the weights. It was up, close to 153 if I remember correctly. Homemade chicken enchiladas with plenty of cheese last night for dinner. Forgot to take my lactose pill, oops. Also forgot to bring one for lunch today with leftovers. Oh well. I can handle the bloating so long as I don't have the pain/nausea, which luckily I didn't have last night so I have high hopes for lunch being much the same. Hopefully, since its lunch, the bloating will be gone by weigh in tomorrow morning for a drop. Lots of walking due to goings on at work yesterday, hoping today is calmer so I can get some bodyweight moves in. Overnight oats again for breakfast, enchiladas for lunch, and chicken thighs for dinner (unsure sides and method of cooking though. Likely grill). BF has the panel interview tomorrow morning (which is simply a confirmation, as the panel can say "yeah, you're right, hiring manager" or "nah, you're delusional with this guy" about BF). Fingers crossed it goes well for him! Getting nervous for mine on Friday. Still no word on county job. Trying not to get hopes up for me, though. I'd rather be pleasantly surprised than disappointed. I'm simply happy I got an interview with something else so quickly (first job out of army took 8 months to get interview. Second job took 6 months before interview so I was anticipating late this year/early next year before I'd get a response from any applications)

5/26 - 180.2
Ok, down for the round, not down over all. Next round!

5/17: 217
5/26: 216
/ none / Overall, my goals were met.

26: 197.9 Morning after potluck, and I'm so proud of myself and thankful that my daughter's school is a very health oriented community. While there were some items I had to skip because of grains or sugar content, it was easy to fill my plate with meat, veggies, and a bit of cheese. I even had a glass of red wine and was still under my calories and great on macros. These are the wins I need to build back my motivation and will power.
Total loss this round 3 pounds

@quiltingjaine I drove to the store to buy them. I was that intent on having them. Of course, we both know it solves nothing.3 -

05/26 - 174.8 - 19,100/124. YAY!! Happy Birthday to my youngest he's 22!! Usual day of 2 walks and hitting calories. Forgot my headphones and sunglasses for my first walk and today I left behind my jacket. Ah well. Down 1.9 for the round, had a few rollercoaster days. Hope to see you all in the next round, keep on pushing on!!
Thank you for the challenge and the support!6
