Looking for big time help

Hi y’all! I’ve tried this diet/healthy eating I think 4 times. At first I did great. 2nd time I just couldn’t get into it (too lazy.) 3rd time hospitalization 3 times. 4th time chemotherapy messed me up. Of course the steroids didn’t help with weight loss.
I’m working on the 4th reoccurrence and this time I am going to fight as hard as I can to lose weight. I did great today. A little hard but I did okay.
If anyone is reading this who has cancer I’d like to connect. I need people who are truly committed to help me stay on course & keep me accountable. 🧚🏻♀️

I had cancer (stage III breast cancer, locally advanced), but have been fortunate to be in long-term remission.
I have to admit, I think accountability is sort of a solo sport, i.e., it helps to have a supportive community (real life or social network like MFP) where health/fitness are community norms, but that accountability comes down to me being accountable to me.
Some things that have helped me are reading posts here to learn about different eating styles I could try, and participating in some of the exercise accountability or challenge threads/groups here on MFP to help keep my head in the game. This is one I still participate in, but there are many others, with different slants:

Since you're seemingly pretty new to the Community, I'll point out that any thread that's long-running may look out of date when you first open it up, because the oldest posts are on the first page, and the newest ones on the end at the high numbered pages.
I started being more active right after cancer treatment - felt that was essential if I wanted to regain strength and energy - even though I'd not been routinely active nor at all athletic before that. Still, I stayed overweight (class 1 obese) for quite a long time, literally years, while very active, until I committed to improve my eating and lose weight (at age 59), because I just wasn't as healthy as I wanted to be. MFP was a huge help, for me.
My personal experience leaves me with the perspective that it's managing the eating that's key for weight management, but I know that it's really about finding the right balance between eating and activity.
Exercise is great for health, and it did help me regain strength/energy after treatment. Both getting more active, and getting to a healthy weight, were big quality of life improvements, for me. It wasn't easy every second, but the rewards for both were greater than I could've anticipated.
Wishing you excellent progress, and positive outcomes!2
