Losing 40lbs - again!

Hi all! I’m Jenny! I have been a member of MFP for over 6 years now. After my first son was born I had 50lbs to lose, and I did that in about a year on MFP. I had gotten to my goal weight and maintained it until lockdown happened in 2020, I gained 20lbs being stuck in my home and then on top of that got pregnant with my second son (hello another 40lbs!). We were thrilled but now I not only have my baby weight to lose again, I have the additional 20lbs also. I know that I can do this because I’ve done it before but my heart hasn’t clicked into gear to put into action what my brain knows I need to do! I thought if I plug into this online community it might help me stay working towards my goal! I know how to lose this weight but getting my body to obey and have that self control is where I am lacking right now. I find myself feeling like “oh I deserve a treat” after a hard day, or on a good day, “I earned this”. If you have any tips or advice to get past my mental block I would really appreciate it! I am looking forward to getting to know each of you!

I lost 70 lbs in 2020 and gained about half back so I need to not only lose those but also like another 50. Hoping to get at it and find the healthy and self care centered me along the way.

After trying to lose the same 30 pounds again after 5 years, I just got pissed and realized the chips are not worth the aggravation of starting all over again trying to lose one pound a week for the past 3 months. I am focusing on what my daily meals will look like at my goal weight. It is working for two days in a row. Lets see about tomorrow. I am not even going to type how much I need to lose. I am just over it.

A comment from an older woman, maybe you can call it a tip…lose the extra weight now by doing what you know you need to do…don’t wait. That said, do it slowly and re-learn all the things you learned the first time you did this. Just get it done and then, using the same information, maintain.
