    Welcome to MFP, Rita.

You should know that you need a good food scale, willingness to use metric will be a huge help, patience and a good attitude. Nothing happens overnight and there will be (mostly) good days and (a few) bad as you feel your way through this.

Hi Rita and welcome. Just know we are all here for you and we are all in this together. Your plan is your choosing. I find measuring cups and spoons really help with portion control. Also a divided plate be it a kids plate or styrofoam helps with portion control as well. Big section for salads or fruits and veggies other two for protein and carbs.
I would like to have you as my new friend.
    Best wishes Debbie

HI Rita!! Hey WELCOME to MFP!!! Support is huge for all of us,,,, when we do not feel so alone doing this, we encourage each other, build each other up and cheer each other on.

If you are looking support Rita, please check us out on the 2022 Spring 5% Challenge. We are having signs up now, and soon we'll be active again. THANKS to the 5% Challenge I'm down 117 lbs with around 30 to go. I feel so much better though I have many health issues. The 5% Challenge we work on exercise, and healthy habits. With the exercise, we ask that NO member starts off at more than they are currently doing (if doing none to please, oh please start of SLOWLY) because we never want any member to be injured. The exercise is always members choice. For those like myself it may include chair exercises, for those who are healthy from walking, running, horse back riding, hiking and more!! We also work on healthy habits (LTGL - Living The Good Life) of which we do not expect perfection, but progress is great.
